We want to splash-out one night at a restaurant and I have been looking at bluezoo. Most reviews are favourable, but a small number are not.

I would be interested to hear from anybody who has eaten there recently.

Thanks.

Me to..we plan to eat there on our trip in October....any excuse for a trip out to boadwalk :)

:sunny: Hi

Just added BlueZoo to our list. The menu looks good and i like the look of the bar area for a cocktail or two after dinner :goodvibes

It looks like a excellent restaurant! It's a definite on my next trip! Have you checked out the web site?
I'm subscribing to this thread because I would like to read the reviews too!

It is very good as long as you like seafood. if you are unsure of anything on the menu as, as they do serve sushi style as well as the cooked. Perosnally I think the lobster is a bit over rated, but then again I prefer crab legs to lobster. The drinks and desserts are great as well.

To enjoy it make sure it is a night when you are not in a hurry, it is a meal to enjoy and take your time over.

Also, I *think* that you can now use your AA (AAA) card to get a discount, but not 100% sure.

We went last year and are going back this year! We loved it! The food was great and the service was excellent. The atmosphere is also really good!

Im definately looking forward to eating there again!

Thanks for the replies. Good enough for us so I have emailed the restaurant and hope I get a positive reply.

I'm at the Dolphin now & eating there tomorrow night - I'll let you know what we think ;)

That would be great. Thanks. Hope you have a good evening.

Just to let you know we had a fabulous meal last night. The restaurant and bar are very stylish. Had a delicious cocktail at the bar first. We were seated in a booth, plenty of room - a table for 4 for the 2 of us. Service was very good, if a little 'cold', but maybe that's because the rest of the service in Disney is so 'enthusiastic'. I'm not sure if you've seen the menu but you can see the whole menu and wine list (with prices) at http://www.thebluezoo.com/menu.htm.

We started with the seafood platter which was superb. We shared it between the 2 of us - 6 oysters, 6 clams, 4 enormous prawns, a big lobster claw, fish ceviche and tuna (which was superb), along with 4 different dips. For some reason if you order this you don't get bread with it, but the bread came with the main course & would have been nice with the starter. The seafood was fresh, tasty and really excellent quality.

I had the simply fish with crab/dill sauce and hubbie had the fish paella style - both fabulous, huge portion of top quality fish, really well prepared. There are side dishes but each dish comes with it's own veg (it's worth checking what they come with in case you don't like it - eg one of the mains came with spinach). We shared the key lime cheesecake with coconut cream - again excellent.

The wine list is huge and (compared to many restaurants around here and considering the class of restaurant) is not over-expensive.

We eat out a lot at home and I would say that this compares to the best. To get this standard of restaurant and quality of seafood in London would also cost you more. If you like seafood these people really know how to prepare it. The crockery and presentation is fabulous - this place is a real treat and one I would definitely eat at again.

One word of warning, if you do eat there and can avoid the weekend I would do so. The hotel is very different between the week (when it's full of conventioneers) and the weekend (with families). There was a large table with lots of very young children on it, making the sort of noise young kids do. We left our older (and better behaved) children to eat by themselves as this is the sort of place that we thought should be an adult treat. Nothing against kids in restaurants -so please don't flame me, I have my own. It's just that some restaurants are just not the place for little kids making a commotion. During the week the place would tend to be used by conventioneers rather than families.

I would recommend you try this place - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Nibby,

Thank you so much for taking time out from your holiday to write your review. I'm now convinced about bluezoo and I'm sure the others who are considering going will think the same.

As a family with DDs of 15 and 16 we are all seafood lovers and I do hope I can obtain a reservation.

I intend to keep this night as a surprise for them.

Thank you so much for your review - I'm off now to persuade my other half that this one "has" to go on the to do list...and yes I too share the whole ethos, that some places on site should be a more grown up sort of affair :rolleyes1 I just don't understand how some people can afford to bring the whole gang !! Thanks again for taking the time out of your holiday

Thanks for the review Nibby! Not that i needed convincing, cant wait to eat there again in december!

Glad to be of assistance :thumbsup2 I've gained so much information from various threads on these forums that it's nice to be able to help :)
