Just to let you know we had a fabulous meal last night. The restaurant and bar are very stylish. Had a delicious cocktail at the bar first. We were seated in a booth, plenty of room - a table for 4 for the 2 of us. Service was very good, if a little 'cold', but maybe that's because the rest of the service in Disney is so 'enthusiastic'. I'm not sure if you've seen the menu but you can see the whole menu and wine list (with prices) at
http://www.thebluezoo.com/menu.htm.
We started with the seafood platter which was superb. We shared it between the 2 of us - 6 oysters, 6 clams, 4 enormous prawns, a big lobster claw, fish ceviche and tuna (which was superb), along with 4 different dips. For some reason if you order this you don't get bread with it, but the bread came with the main course & would have been nice with the starter. The seafood was fresh, tasty and really excellent quality.
I had the simply fish with crab/dill sauce and hubbie had the fish paella style - both fabulous, huge portion of top quality fish, really well prepared. There are side dishes but each dish comes with it's own veg (it's worth checking what they come with in case you don't like it - eg one of the mains came with spinach). We shared the key lime cheesecake with coconut cream - again excellent.
The wine list is huge and (compared to many restaurants around here and considering the class of restaurant) is not over-expensive.
We eat out a lot at home and I would say that this compares to the best. To get this standard of restaurant and quality of seafood in London would also cost you more. If you like seafood these people really know how to prepare it. The crockery and presentation is fabulous - this place is a real treat and one I would definitely eat at again.
One word of warning, if you do eat there and can avoid the weekend I would do so. The hotel is very different between the week (when it's full of conventioneers) and the weekend (with families). There was a large table with lots of very young children on it, making the sort of noise young kids do. We left our older (and better behaved) children to eat by themselves as this is the sort of place that we thought should be an adult treat. Nothing against kids in restaurants -so please don't flame me, I have my own. It's just that some restaurants are just not the place for little kids making a commotion. During the week the place would tend to be used by conventioneers rather than families.
I would recommend you try this place - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
