The Best Ways To SAVE MONEY While Inside Disneyland

Isn't the first aid at the baby station place?? I sent my hubby there last trip to get an icepack for his "sprained" ankle. In retrospect, it turns out it was probably just strain due to excessive driving because he drove the entire trip from Seattle to DL with very few brakes.

Actually I meant to say "breaks" but there was not much braking going on either. He loves that part of the drive through California where you don't see anyone for miles.

lol, trodrigue - before i read your second post i was like, "OMG, they drove from seattle without BRAKES?":rotfl2:

glad that wasn't the case!

corpsebride, thanks so much for the compliment! i love writing, and Disneyland is definitely my favorite topic. my dh will be thrilled about the coffee choices!

heatherleigh - lol, that is funny. glad it wasn't the case, but the mental image it provoked at first was kind of comical...

Another thing that I just learned of (I didn't know about it when the article was written), is the Picnic at Ascot company. I had never heard of them, but that morning I had woken up thinking, "We need an insulated backpack for taking food into DL". We've taken sandwiches lots of times, the people at the gates always see them and never make an issue out of it. We used to achieve this by using ice packs in our diaper bag, because the inside has that plastic lining so the moisture doesn't soak through? But this is the first trip we're taking with no diaper bag (my 4th, and youngest child, is now totally potty trained, yay!). So, I want to take a regular backpack, but didn't know if any company made an insulated one. Anyway, by chance, I happened to stop into one of our local thrift stores for 5 minutes the same day, and wouldn't you know it, the ONLY thing my husband even looked at was this backpack. It was an insulated one!!! This one had clearly never been used (It comes with plates and cups and everything for a picnic, and the paper liners were still between the plates, the napkins were still folded funny like they are on the company's website). I couldn't believe my luck, we picked it up for $5! Went home and checked out the website, and they retail for about $40 to $100+! Anyway, they have awesome products, and these bags are perfect for taking food into DL, I can't wait to use it. Check out their website, and then if interested, see if you can find one on ebay! It will keep food and drinks cold (read: you'll be able to pack club sandwiches instead of pb&j, lol!). For those trying to manage a frugal trip to DL, it's the perfect product.

Holy cow....I just read on one of the DL menus, that they sell the "Simply Lemonade" brand of lemonade there...one of my faves. I buy the large container (enough for everyone in my family to have some) at my local grocery for about $2. At DL, the SMALL, single serving ones are $4.50! That's where these Picnic at Ascot bags can come in really handy.

If you buy a cup of coffee at the market house, just save your receipt and show the next time you want coffee there and its free.

Do you have to keep your cup for them to refill, or do they give you a new cup when you present your receipt? Great tip--did not know this, and DH & I drink at least 5 cups/day at DL so we can keep up w/the kiddos!

A few tips from my tip sheet :

If you are in need of cash buy Disney Dollars instead of using the ATM. There is no fee and if you have any leftover, which I usually find impossible

BUT City Hall indeed does give out a list of all the pressed penny machines in the parks, hotels and Downtown Disney. And it tells you which three pennies you can get at each machine which is very helpful! And it changes often because they put up new ones for holidays and special events

50'sJayne - thanks for the tips! we've never done the disney dollars before, but this trip we are. not for us though, just the kids. they are SOO excited while they earn their money, lol. they can't WAIT to go trade them in at the disney store for disney dollars.

Also you can get free refills on your drinks at Pizza Port and the Mexican food restaurant in Frontierland.

Hey, I didn't know that either, THANKS!!!

Nope just keep the receipt and the market house will give you a free cup of coffee. You can go back as many times as you want too. As an aside, I put all of my plastic stuff like dole whip empties in the recycle cans at DL. Even though they are marked for bottles and cans, I think that anything that is clear plastic should go in those bins to be recycled.

If you are listing all the places where you can get free refills, you will want to include Whitewater Snacks at the GCH.

Seriously? Darn, I just finished an article specifically about free drink refills in the parks and left that one out because i read on another board that WWS stopped doing that a few years ago. Were you there just recently, and they had free refills? I probably still have time to edit before the article gets processed, so if I hear from you soon enough, I'll add WWS. Thanks for the info!
