Mandy (me), Paul (hubby) & Becky (DD16)

Saturday 9th January '10 ~ High 42F ~ Wet & Cold

We were up, showered, packed and on our way to DownTown Disney at 8.20am for Virgin early check-in. It was raining and so cold this morning, and the Virgin staff were so disorganised. It took about an hour to finally get rid of our cases (though it felt longer due to the cold)

As it was so wet and cold we decided to head back to the Pop and chill in our room till we had to leave at 11am. After saying our last goodbye to Kerry, we drove to DownTown Disney, where we had our last big meal of the holiday at T-Rex (yet again ;)). Again we started with 2 rounds of Artifact Stack (onion rings), I had lasagne for my main, and Paul & Bek had fillet steak. As we were in no hurry to go out in the cold, we tried to make our meal as long as we could, so we took our time before we ordered dessert

In the end we decided to try the Chocolate Extinction, which looked great and tasted delicious, but it was far too big for just the three of us

After T-Rex we wandered around all the shops. This morning with our check out bill we were given a voucher for 35% off if you spent $50 or more, so Paul made good use of it and spent another $100 on bits and pieces

After DTD we popped to the Florida Mall, but we were fed up of shopping by now, and it was so busy as everyone seemed to want to get out of the chilly weather

We arrived at the airport around 3.45pm and we returned our car to Alamo. We wandered around the Disney Store and Ron Jons, and security was a breeze, with hardly any wait

Our flight was said to be running an hour and ten minutes late (now leaving at 7.40pm). Jersey Girl arrived and within no time we were boarding

The flight was very uneventful. We didn't bother with the food again (Paul had bought some tuna sandwiches at the gate), and we all slept pretty much the whole way home

When we landed, the plane didn't park up near the gate (which I thought may have been due to all the snow), instead we had to wait for buses to take us back to the terminal - which took quite a while

Once through Passport Control, we went to get our suitcases. We had four bags, and they all came at different times, and one didn't turn up at all  In fact there was about 20 people waiting for cases. Paul went to Lost Baggage with some other passengers, but then it was announced that one crate of luggage had accidently been left by the plane. It took a good hour for the cases to arrive, and thankfully our last one turned up. Once we were through customs, we walked over to the Radisson to pick our car up. The car was waiting for us, and I think we were home mid-morning
