What is going on here? I'll admit that I've found Diana's posts maddening in the past, but this one? Who the heck cares what she does to her hair? It sounds like she's coming off a tough year (financially, marriage-related, family issues) and maybe, just maybe, she's finally in a good spot in her life. She's also a stay-at-home mom that's doing the best she can and she wants to give herself a little pick me up or maybe stand out a little or be a little different. Again, who cares? I look at my mousy brown, plain jane haircut everyday and wish I had the guts to do something kooky or different and I think you should take a nice day for yourself while you're on vacation and do what makes you happy, Diana.

I saw a girl on America's Next Top Model get her hair dyed blonde from brown. She was crying the whole time because it was so painful!

If you decide to do it, more power to you! Red highlights is about as funky as I go.

Diana, saw the pics you posted on another site and think you're cute as can be! I know you've got your mind made up on the platinum and purple but did you know you've got the coloring for a vibrant red??? That'd be fabulous, too!

yes, it probably looked fine, but was her hair platinum? My cousin has a purple tint put in her hair, but her hair is black, so the purple only shows up in the sunlight. That's totally different from platinum....

and by looks of disgust, I mean ~ I usually just shake my head and say
"what was she thinking???"

Well then, you most likely aren't the type of person I'd be spending my free time with.

Update on the hair (and I'm shocked this thread is still alive!!! I've been away for a week!)
I didn't have it done in the Berkshires. We really ran out of time. I am going to have it done here in the city and for those of you who are concerned with the financial end of things know that I wouldn't do it if I couldn't afford it. I haven't posted anything recently about my husband and the situation at home but things have changed for the better on a great deal of fronts for us...
