OR...who have been around long enough to see a troll banned, reappear under numerous aliases, get banned again, start threads that get "poofed" repeatedly, go to live on another board (don't know how he's behaving over there), return to the DIS repeatedly to get "poofed" over and over.

Count me as surprised to hear the restroom at Carriage House described as a "wreck". When I was there NYE I spent quite some time in the ladies room. No problems I saw. It looked immaculate and this was on a high traffic trip.

Sorry you didn't like the firehouse view. I've been meaning to snap a picture of that one. Love the hose-themed fountain outside.

BTW what does being 28 have to do with anything?

"i thnk OP is trying to reck U opion of ssr cause" having a firehouse nearby causes it to be a less desirable?
SSR was in pristine condition when we stayed last August.

I still think it is odd that people consider one CS and one TS restaurant on-site a negative, when there is a whole mess of restaurants within walking distance....or take the boat....or the bus....

DTD is closer then some restaurants to rooms at other resorts! I remember being at Carribean Beach and being all the way in the back and just too far away to go to the onsite restaurants!

As for the defensiveness of the OP, I think that there is a point where you have to look at the way you speak to others or make your posts....things like "u people" or "these people" phrases will always come off wrong. But you were also pretty defensive before anyone posted something that even resembled an attack.

But on a side note, I still want everyone to believe SSR is an awful place, that way I can always get my rooms without a fight like at the other resorts!

We just got back from disney this past tuesday we stayed 7nights 8 days at ssr. We were disappointed, we have stayed here in the past and never had a problem. We own 150 pts at vero beach and additional 85 pts at ssr. We are only 28 years old so I am not sure if this is why the lady from check in was rude to us or what. First of all Our room number was 5712 in the paddock which is right across the street from the fire station which had a call at least once every 2 hrs. we could not have our patio doors open cause we have a 16month old and when she would nap the doors had to be closed we would hear the sirens all the time. I guess it wasnt all that bad till the night time, cause most of the day were at the parks. the second bad thing was the bathrooms in the lobby area are a reck. Some stalls have doors missing, the stalls were coming a part from the walls, locks were missing. This resort is not that old y in the world wouldnt they check this stuff, I have pictures to prove it. when I went to the front the girl was like ok I will have someone look at that. Ok who ever cleans them should know this, and have mentioned something to the maintance people. Isnt the money at the end of the year that we pay suppose to go for fixing things like this? I think that this resort is toooo large for what they have to offer. one self serve restuarant that can handle maybe 25 people at most. 4 pool areas which is nice to have it spread out instead of one. all in all this resort is good if u are going with a large group and want to go your own ways. all in all the bw or ak are way better resorts. maybe cause there more all together then all spread out like ssr.

So Sorry you had a not so magical time at the ssr. I've never stayed there but I love the way they look and hope to try them soon. Did you request a room change? I'm only asking because I'd like to think they tried to be accomodating especially with a infant. I would definitely email customer service about the poor maintence, include your pictures of the broken doors. Keep it simple and unemotional. As owners I think it's every ones responsibility to report problems where we see them.

Good idea, and the REAL place problems that are upsetting should be reported. Reporting them here and expecting DVC to read them here and act on them, is probably not the best way to get things changed. The only way to get satisfaction is to expect it at the time of service, not complain afterward when you do nothing to rectify it while you are there.

By the way, at age 28, I had already had all of my children, was in an established career and had already owned two homes. I'm not sure why being 28 has anything to do with this.

while it is up to DVC to fix these problems remember they didn't cause these problems.
Some guests are just not capable of behaving themselves. They think bathroom doors are there to swing on.
We love it at SSR and will be there next week. If I remember I think I'll check out the bathrooms in the lobby. No parks this trip.

I have to say, who in the world gives a hoot about the bathrooms in the lobby area. I didn't even know they had them. Now if it was the bathroom in my unit, that would be a whole different situation. And it's wreck not reck.

I guess what bothers me is OP has two complaints that I saw. The poor shape of the bathrooms, which could have been anything. Maybe they were working on it. The other was the location of their room. Well that happens to everyone. Sometimes you get a good location, sometimes not. But to call SSR the value resort of DVC is ridiculous. As far as the number and size of restaurants, I'd give anything to have a full-service restaurant at HH regardless of the size.

Ditto for me, I am still wondering what being 28 has to do with any of this? As others have said, if you have an issue with the bathroom, and if they are as you stated you should have an issue with them, then share that information as well as the photos with the proper people so that they can do something about them.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. We however, love SSR. We were just there for New Years week and had a wonderful time. No complaints at all.
