the bathrooms need fixing at ssr

Ditto for me, I am still wondering what being 28 has to do with any of this? As others have said, if you have an issue with the bathroom, and if they are as you stated you should have an issue with them, then share that information as well as the photos with the proper people so that they can do something about them.

Standard maintenance issues.

You do realize that the building where the lobby is located is 34 years old right?

Thank you for the pictures. There is obviously some minor damages, and I was wondering, where all of them in one stall or in different ones? It may be that the door is off so that they can repair the things, which they probably do quite easily since they are just a minor things. I don't see things "falling or coming apart", but things that do need some repair to maintain in prime conditions.
I hope that as you took it to the attention of the CMs, things will now be repaired and SSR can go back to the deluxe category instead of downgraded to value resort.

Ok, let's see.... their are probably 1000's of people going through this bathroom on a weekly basis....if my bathroom looked this good after only four peolpe pass through it in the same amount of time I would be very happy! These are minor maintenance issues and I am VERY PICKY! You should bring it to the attention of SSR management and I'm sure that it would be addressed.

Just a tip. To post photos from photobucket copy the IMG code. Then the photos will appear in the actual thread.

Now seriously, you call that a wreck? Have you been in your nearest Walmart, Target or mall bathroom lately? A lot more has to happen than a little peeling wallpaper and a defective hinge for me.. Like a missing lock, paper strewn all over the floor and wet spots everywhere. (Things I have seen and encountered often in the parks and other public places. I can't enter a handicapped stall without having to clean off the seat first. Parents do not clean up after their small children often.)

These pictures don't show a "wreck" of a bathroom IMO and don't help your cause.

If you can't post anything nice, don't post at all.

Thank you for the pictures. While I agree that each one (except for the door!) is a minor maintenance issue, they do show what I consider a serious problem as a whole. When the little things are not taken care of the whole bathroom starts to look ragged, dirty and yes, a wreck. The missing door is inexcusable. I think that you have a valid complaint.

I have been in the bathrooms at the malls and stuff but the thing is that Our annual dues dont pay for the walmart cart boy to fix there problems. we pay annual dues to have issues like these to be fixed. yes I did mention it cm and the dvc guy outside of the door. I am not trying to start problems. I am just telling everyone what I saw while I was there.

I suppose some folks have been harsh to you in their replies -- but don't you think the title of your post "the value resort of dvc" is also a little harsh? Granted, you didn't like your location, and you had a legitimate beef about some maintenance issues... So you would characterize all value resorts as having poor locations and bad maintenance? And lump SSR in with that? Wouldn't that be like me lumping you in with uneducated dropouts because you can't seem to spell "wreck" correctly? That wouldn't be fair, obviously!

Also, this is a message board, but it's not a text message board. While I don't mind all the abbreviations and shortcuts when I receive a message on my phone, it just kind of annoys me here.

I would so much like to start over again, perhaps on a better foot.

The peeling paper, missing door, and anchors pulling away from the ceiling and the wall would all appear to be minor damage. As someone else has already pointed out the door could be removed to allow the maintenance staff the access needed to fix the problems.

I hardly consider this to be indicative of a "reck", as the OP has so succinctly put it -- nor should one feel the need to classify SSR as the "value" resort of DVC just because of 1 maintenance issue.

I'm wondering what the OP hoped to accomplish by taking the photos and introducing themselves on the Disboards in such a vitriolic manner. I don't blame some of the more seasoned DISboard members for thinking this was a troll. The M.O. is certainly troll-like -- 1st post slamming a resort. The spelling is more indicative of a poorly educated 18 year old text messaging on a cell phone than a 28 year old parent with access to a full QWERTY keyboard.

I wouldn't be handing out group hugs  just yet.

How can you suggest this is a serious problem? Since the door is missing (i.e. not hanging in pieces from the frame), I think this shows a maintenance issue being addressed while still providing some washroom facilities.

However, we don't know the whole story, either. Perhaps the door was removed because it was in a dangerous condition oor have literally been ripped from the wall by someone. It could have been removed for safety while a replacement part is on back-order.

SSR is my home resort, so my dues do go directly to pay for these maintenance issues....and here is my take on it. Yes there is some need for minor repairs. As far as the door, hopefully this is something they addressing and it will be back in place quickly....it is inconvenient, but hopefully a short term thing.....was it this way your whole stay, or just once when you were in there? The wallpaper, I think that should have been fixed in a day, it it was peeling away like that, they could easily glue it back down. The other two, top of a stall and the bracket, those things are insignificant. Bathroom stalls are put in after the fact, so there will be cracking of tiles, pulled out screws...and personally I would think that it would be very foolish for them to spend my dues on something so minor as an imperfection at the top of a stall in a public bathroom.

I am curious why you spent your time photographing a public bathroom? I have noticed things that haven't been upkept and my wife (the engineer) would have probably noticed all of these things, but I wouldn't take photos unless I was looking to complain. I am curious what drove you to pick SSR to stay at and if you weren't happy before you got there?

I am truly not trying to attack you, just trying to find the motivation behind this. Also, I don't think I saw an answer about if you asked to change rooms because of the noise?

It looks like someone took a sledge hammer to the stalls. That does not look like normal wear and tear to me.

That could have happened the day before you saw it or an hour before you saw it.

I do consider a missing door a serious problem. SSR owners' dues go to the upkeep of the public rooms and it appears that is not being done in regards to that bathroom when the OP was there. What we see is a moment in time and at that moment the bathroom was indeed a wreck, IMO.

I'm sure they removed the door in anticipation of replacing it. But ... the condition of the door had to degrade so much that it needed to be replaced. The other "minor" things (peeling paper, stall coming loose) points out a lack of regular maintenance on a timely basis. THAT is the problem and THAT is why having a gaping whole while they "get around" to replacing it is a real problem.

FWIW, I am not a SSR owner but I would be really honked off if I found a restroom at BWV or AKV in that condition.

I am sorry for those who thought that I was a "troll" or what ever you call it. yes I shouldnt have said the value resort of the dvc. I should have titled it bathrooms need to be fixed at ssr. But I feel that some of these people on here are like little groupies and gang up on people like me .cause yeah I did spell wreck wrong, but dont tell me that you never spelled anything wrong in your whole life. I am human and I do make mistakes. I live disney, my whole house is disney. yeah maybe some of u may know everything disney and some may not. I know that disney wouldnt want people like some of u to be so harsh towards someone like me. I just want people to know what I saw.
