The Bahamian Rum Runners! May 18, 2012 - 5 Nights on the Magic!

I bought DH a new T-Shirt from Target that says "Mickey ROCKS"...it has three vinyl albums in the shape of Mickey's head! It's really nice (wish they had one in my size though :rotfl:). That's about the extent of my cruise purchases :lmao:

We're staying in WDW for a few days, pre-cruise, and are really excited to be going to Tutto Italia in Epcot for the first time!!! Our other favorite places to eat are: The 50's Prime Time Cafe, The T-Rex Cafe, Olivia's (Old Key West), and the Plaza Restaurant on Main Street!

I can't believe the trip is only a month away :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Hey everyone! I'm around, just not really "here"....the end of the semester is upon us! This weekend I went shopping with my mom and got A LOT of new stuff for the trip! Like A LOT! which brings us to today's question of the day, which I might turn into questions of the week, because I know its hard to answer a question everyday, but if someone else wants to post a question on days you don't see me do it, I'm fine with that!

QOTD Is there any special item you are buying just for the cruise? A new dress, new bathing suit, new hat or maybe even just a new toothbrush?! :rotfl: What new item are you the most excited about?

Bonus Disney QOTD - This type of weather always makes me think of being in the parks, and when I think of the parks my mind inevitably turns to food! For those of us who have been, what is your favorite thing to eat in the parks? For those who haven't, do you have an item you would love to try? Or maybe what's your favorite meal that you make at home?? (Can you tell its breakfast time and I'm hungry?? :rotfl2:)

I did buy a new bathing suit. I'm training for a marathon and losing weight so i bought it a size too small to motivate me. I have picked up a couple of clothing items here and there for the kids, but will be doing more shopping as the cruise gets closer.

We have annual passes and since we live a short drive away, we go ALL the time. My favorite thing to eat at the parks is the carmel and peanut apple. I have to get one almost every time we go. My favorite place to eat is Ohana's at the Polynesian for breakfast. They have the best breakfast potatoes and the passionfruit guava juice is to die for!

On the boat our favorite restaurant is Parrot Cay. I am really looking forward to the chocolate souffle at Palo :)

Caroline is doing better today with the potty training. I keep stressing big girls get to dance with Snow White and go swimming in the pool and she said she wants to do that stuff- so here's hoping...

1. I bought stuff for Fish Extenders. I love shopping for that stuff. I found some really cool things this time for the little ones~!

2. At Disney World - Dole Whip (and we all say Whip like Stewie). On the ship - Mickey bars.

Some new clothes, a couple new purses with mickey on them (which is hilarious since i'm not planning on carrying my purse much if at all during our trip, but hey any reason to buy a new purse, i'm in!) and some cute nautical stuff (i found the cutest flip-flops with a big shiny/blingy starfish.. now i've got to find something to wear them with! :cool1:)

Jon, I LOVE the way Stewie says Whip.. it cracks me up every time I hear it! :happytv:

I found a DCL aloha shirt on ebay that I got. Other than that I haven't really bought anything new for the cruise. Had pretty much all I needed or wanted. Last cruise I found a really neat pirate aloha shirt and then some "matching" beads when visiting New Orleans - both of which I'll wear again for pirate night.

No food in particular in the parks or on the ship. I like to try new foods and will frequently order something that I've not had before.

Almost an entirely new summer wardrobe.

Ian has 6 weeks off from his Phd program until he starts his next class. He still has to work on his dissertation but I am so excited because that means less homework and more time with ME! :D Been a long road. He went from getting his MBA directly into the doctoral program and I am so proud of and happy for him - but it isn't always easy and not a lot of quality time anymore.

I can tell he is getting into vacation mode. He came into the bedroom last night while I was working on some dance photos, plopped down a box and said "There! I have officially started the pile!"

He meant the vacation pile. I didn't have the heart to tell him I already a few very small piles scattered about instead of one large one.. guess I need to combine them and make him happy. ;)

BTW - just in case someone missed it...

He deserves a Mickey Bar:mickeybar

Come to think of it, we have a lot of people coming off of advanced education time.

And then there's Bill who is traveling a bunch.

It will be nice to relax for a bit!

WOOHOO!!! :cheer2:

My hubs surprised me last night... I've been planning this for a long while and of course talking to all yinz... and he just hasn't been into it yet, I guess it was just too far away to think about. Well I head on up to the Man Cave (our bonus room that's all Pittsburgh/Penn State) last night, and he's on his iPad pricing our next cruise! :earseek: We haven't even been on one yet and you're planning another?!? I love that man! :goodvibes

sounds like a keeper! :thumbsup2

I'm gonna need this vacation! One month from today also means one month of intense schoolwork! And I have a trip to DC this weekend, so there goes a good chunk of essay writing time!

There should be a rule that you can't work and go to school full time and everything will be a free ride till you're done! Ok that's more like a fantasy!

I bought some Bonine today, slowly getting everything together for the cruise. I have a suitcase filled with clothes, and another pile of clothes in my room and as we get closer I will start organizing, but I need to have most of it done pretty early, since finals week is the week before the cruise and i'm not going to have time to pack.

Time management is the key right??

Whoo who, just got a package in the mail for FE gifts. My DH's comment, "do I dare ask, the cruise can't come soon enough. Better dig out another suitcase!":yay:

suuurreee.. rub it in why don'tchya! ;)

OK, thanks and I will! :joker:

Its been cold and wet, but mostly just cold with a lot of wet. Actually, I've had snow several times and sleet once.

Driving on roads that twist and turn every few yards for mile after mile, and are only 2 sheep abreast wide while trying to dodge fast moving trucks and buses does get tiring.

I like the food but the servers definitely have not worked for Disney at any time.

Besides all that, I'm having a great time!

Maybe the new question of the day should actually be "Guess where Bill is" based on his clues.

Let's see rainy and wet, twisty roads? I'm going to guess you're in Scotland or Wales!

Ok we've been talking about this over on the facebook page but has anyone ever done the drop a pillowcase or photo mat off at concierge to get it signed on the cruise by the characters? There are some rumors that this is now frowned upon...for anyone who has done it, can you give us any more details, and for anyone who has heard this is no longer a good idea, do you know where you saw this?

Thanks guys!
