how crazy do people get dressing up for pirate night?

On our last cruise I had pirate suits made for the three of us. My husband was a little embarassed but it was rather fun We looked more like the pirates of the Caribbean. My husband had the pirate boots and one of the hats like they wear. We seen all types of pirate outfits from just t-shirts to the full elaborate outfits. If I was talented with the computer and could find a picture I'd post it.

My wife and I love halloween, actually go to Salem, mass every year for Halloween, so I have a full pirate costume. Leather tri corner hat and all. Just didn't want to look like a complete dork.

We just were on the 5 night Double Dip Dream on 8/2 and there was a Semi Formal Night. We got photos taken that night. I have to say, though, I did see plenty of men without jackets at dinner that evening.

I also have a skeleton pirate but i dont think its very disneyesque. if i can figure out how to make the picture smaller i'll post it. only skeleton in Salem with a baby carrier and a 1yo pirate riding piggyback

YAY! I HAVE POWER!! Unfortunately i am also covered in poison ivy. Apparently that vine that was wrapped around the tree that fell on my garage was poison ivy. Not a good idea to chop that up with a chainsaw.

One more week and I will be putting out deposit down and officially be joining all of you.

Found out this past week DH (Ian) has 3 bone spurs in his ankles. The worst one is on his right ankle and growing upwards and into his Achilles tendon. We have to keep a very close eye on that one - it could start to shred the tendon. That means surgery and no less than 6 weeks off the foot and on crutches. I've already told him if there is any chance of him needing that surgery we need to schedule it asap so nothing messes with our cruise and/or him being in any pain for it. He got cortisone shots in both ankles this week and a list of excersizes to do to help. He is in less pain now - but I have a bad feeling he will be needing surgery. ugh. Always something isn't it? Stinks getting older.

Oh - and I am doing some serious thinking about going all out for pirate night too. Can't promise our DDs will do it and being they are young adults now I can't force them anymore gosh dernit! Even if they don't Ian and I probably will if I can find stuff to fit both of us - that we like.

Hello everyone! I've been MIA with school, work, and just life in general. Hope everyone is doing well. Did we ever decided whose going to be running the FE? I think the best way to do it is just PM me if your interested and I will get a list going on the first post (iswear i swear i will find time!) That's great! If you get to see our door, we have a standard magnet we use for our family. It says "The Pittsburgh Pirates" with a photo of Mickey bobble-head in a Pittsburgh Pirate baseball uniform. And yes, we also have Penguins and the Steelers represented. And I wave a Terrible Towel at the sail away party.

OMG! I havent even thought about magnets yet. my wife and i were going to make some magnets and make a FE with my 3yo son during the winter when we are stuck inside. plus it will build up excitement when we get closer to sail. what ive been obsessed on is the stupid pins on ebay. we now have 4 lanyards (even though there are only 3 of us) and 7 pins.
