With all that's been going on, it's hard to believe I only have 9 days til vacation!!

My cable and internet has been sporadic since the storm, and works been busy, so that's why I haven't been around.

I'm going to try to post more in the next week and 2 days if I can keep my internet up. There's a lot to discuss.

Right now I just need some encouragement, if you will. I need to be pumped up about this trip! I'm not excited like I need to be. I haven't even begun packing.

The good news is that it doesn't look like these other storms will be much of a threat to Louisiana...or Florida for that matter (knock on wood). Oh, and I finished all my laundry too! (at least the storm was good for something )

I haven't even started packing either. I said I'd start last weekend but didn't. Now I HAVE to start this weekend. Hope we can both get motivated to get that done.

I'm excited for this trip but now I'm a little worried at the same time. They made a new projected path for Ike today. You might want to check it out I HATE IKE!!!

Glad you were at least able to get all your laundry done during the storm.

Here's hoping the next week flies by.

well I actually was not at work Tuesday and I was working in another department Wednesday for half the day, then went home. Yesterday we lost power (yes, the electric company lost power) and were working in another department on generator. It was not a fun day.

I'm glad this work week is over!

I'm in trip-planning mode. Not full-on yet, but I'm getting there.

I hope I get a lot done this weekend, because I sure have a lot to do!

First of all, I've been tanning. However, I haven't tanned in almost a week because of stinkin Gustav! I knew I should have made myself start earlier!
I wanted to tan yesterday, and it was still closed. Today, I felt like crap and didn't want to get in a hot tanning bed. I woke up with a sore throat, as did Mike. I've had chills and my face has been SO HOT all day! We had his grandma and cousin staying with us for the hurricane and they may or may not have gotten us sick. (they left this morning) They called me this afternoon and informed me that they both went to the dr. today and got medicine for upper respiratory infections. Just GREAT!
If we are not feeling well by Monday we are both going to the doctor to get meds. I will even get a shot if I have to! I don't want to be sick on vacation---but I also need my energy NOW so that I can take care of everything that I need to get done.

I have my shopping list about ready with the last minute things we need. My goal is to have everything by Wednesday of next week.

Here it is:

Mini cereals
Gum
Starburst (at Mike's request)
Ponchos
White sandals (going to look tomorrow if I feel up to it)
Sunglasses (Mine BROKE today! )
Earplanes (I have to have them for the plane or my ears go nuts)
Disposable coffee cups (I loved these last year)
Neosporin (unless I can find the tube that Mike lost somewhere in this house. )
Shave gel (travel size)
Black bra (Mine broke during the hurricane. I was just doing laundry and BAM! It just popped open in the front--and it's NOT a front-closure bra! It's a VS so I was none too thrilled to lose that one)
White bra (If I'm going to make a trip to VS I think I will just get a new white one, too, since I wear my white one SO much and the straps are not so white anymore)

I've already purchased a few things recently:
-Peanut butter crackers (Lance)
-Tide pen
-spray hand sanitizer (2 pack)


I am getting my hair cut/colored tomorrow. I will probably get longer layers this time, as long as she can leave it long enough to pull all back in a pony tail. I'm excited about going to the salon as it's one of my fav things, but not looking forward to paying for it.

I'll also go look for white sandals to wear with the white dress I'm borrowing from my cousin for our pictures. I hope I can find some cheap ones. They don't need to be super comfortable as I don't plan on walking in the parks in them.

Part of me wants to go buy a new white dress of my own just to have it (and I think her dress is a little long on me since I'm so short) but I know I should not spend the money. Hmm....I JUST thought of something --I have $7 left on a Dillards gift card! If I could find a dress on the clearance rack, it wouldn't set me back much! Ooh, BAD Cheri!!

I called Disney to finally give them my flight information. I should have done that a long time ago but I forgot. I told y'all I've been slacking this year. I hope I get my docs in the mail soon enough.
I have ONE question though. The guy told me they would not transport my luggage from the airport to our room...but even he said he wasn't sure. (I had asked because I wanted to confirm) I was under the impression that the only change with Southwest(as opposed to other airlines...ie. Delta) was on the RETURN flight--that they do not check your luggage.
Can someone straighten this out for me? Do I need to attach my ME tags to the bags/Will they be transporting our luggage for us upon our arrival?

That's all I got tonight. I'm feeling pretty tired and run down, so I'll post more over the weekend. I have a large to-do list that I need to show y'all. And I will need y'all to help me make sure I did not forget anything.

Goodnight! When I awake tomorrow, it will be ONE WEEK TIL DISNEY!

OH..ATTACH those ME tags to your luggage. He had no idea what heck he was talking about, go figure


That only applies on the return flight home. Then you will have to take care of your own luggage as southwest is not a participating disney airline.


They will DEFINITELY take your luggage to your hotel if you attach the yelllow ME tags to them

I flew Southwest the past two years and they took my luggage to my hotel
