The Back To School thread! When do your kids go back???

Seems like the southern states are starting back now.

We go back August 29th.

I know our district is trying to get more in line with y'all up north and we are not starting til August 23rd. Last year we started the 9th of August. When I was small we started the Tuesday after Labor Day every year. I'm hoping we slowly ease into that schedule.

In the district that I teach in the staff starts on Sept. 4 and students on Sept. 6. Two towns over, where I live, school isn't starting until Sept. 11. I believe the late date is due to construction projects going on in several of the buildings. Both districts are closed Sept. 13 and 14 for the Jewish holiday.

My son goes back on September 5th. That is the norm around here.

Our public school system started classes today (8/6). A couple of neighboring counties started last week!

DS's college classes start next Monday (8/13) and he's moving back to campus this Friday.

In NC, public schools cannot start prior to Aug. 25th, and must finish by June 10th. This has been my first summer off, so the kids didn't have to go to day care this year. Man, am I ready to go back to work!

DD7 starts Aug. 22. We live in S. Florida. I'm actually sad about it. I always love having her home for the summer.
