Ok guys so i have held the whitehall patio room which i love but also cant stop thinking about the attic ! With my guest count falling the attic could be a posibility , i would just like advice from anybody who has been into the attic or held there reception there , what is there scope to do with the venue , ive had my heart set on steel drums or and old key west style guitarrist is it possible for them to play in this location ? Ive also asked the question of could we make use of shipwreck beach or cresent cove for a cocktail hour but i was dis courraged as i will be moving my guests too many times
 
I adore the Attic! I thought it would seem too grandma-like or something, but the moment our sales consultant opened the doors and I saw the fabulous lake view and super-shiny floors, I was hooked.

The indoor and outdoor spaces combined seat 36. Only existing seating may be used but you can add a sweetheart table and two chairs. Food and beverage mins are $1,000 for events ending before 5pm and $2,500 for those ending after.

There is no dance floor available, but we had no trouble doing our first dances and mother/father dances on the balcony. You can have have background music (we used an iPod) or non-amplified music, so a Key West guitarist would work and steel drums should work, unless Disney thinks they're just naturally too loud. Entertainment must conculde by 9pm and the event must conclude by 9:30pm. You can see the high fireworks from IllumiNations here.

How long can you have The Attic for? When would the reception start?

Do you know who we need to talk to to book? And who does the catering?

Wishes Collection receptions generally last 4 or 5 hours, including a 1-hour pre-reception/cocktail hour. The start time depends on your ceremony start time. Escape receptions are 2 hours.

If you are having a Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding, you book through your planner. If you are getting married elsewhere you can book an event there through Disney Catered Events, but it can't have the trappings of a wedding or they'll just send you back to DFTW. The BoardWalk Inn food and beverage team does the catering.

I just want to add a question: if you had an Escape reception at the Attic, but wave the cake and champagne celebration to have it at the reception would this time be added?

Well the two-hour time limit is really just one of the ways they try to keep you from having a Wishes-style reception at an Escape price, so it seems like they wouldn't begrudge you the 20 extra minutes you would have spent doing the cake and Champagne ceremony back at your ceremony site.
 
Thank you! That makes sense! I just have the feeling that it is sometimes better to know before you start asking or requesting things and get different responses later.
