****The April 2015 thread**** come check in and chat!

I have not read through this whole thread so I probably missed this somewhere already. Tell me more about the Star Wars Celebration. Is it something we should plan around? (Either going to it or avoiding the area because it is full of crazy fans?)

Just expect Star Tours to get a general uptick (I have no idea what the line is usually like), and for it to be packed the afternoons of 4/16 - 4/19. I am in a Star Wars club and most of the members are going to CVII (the Star Wars convention), and then doing Disney for a few days afterwards. One or two are going to do DL the week beforehand.

ETA: In 2010 in Orlando WDW provided a separately ticketed Star Wars event for convention-goers on Saturday evening; called "Last Tour to Endor." The next Orlando Star Wars convention had no special WDW event. Nothing DL-related has been announced this year.

Thanks! I talked to my husband about it last night and while he is a fan of Star Wars, he would rather avoid any additional crowds so we'll be leaving on Wednesday, midday. This was only suppose to be a quick 2 day trip that has morphed into four days anyway.

we are planning our first trip to DL April 15-20. we'll be doing two days at Star Wars Celebration and 2-3 days at the parks.
finally got some of our dining scheduled (a bunch of character breakfasts) and BB Fantasmic dinner package. just really hoping the tarp is off the castle in time.

Question for you veterans. Photo Pass Plus, worth it? It looks like it is $70 if I sign up online. Is it just for 1 day, or entire visit? Is it expensive to get your pics when you get home (either printing, or downloading to computer to print later)?

I booked a character breakfast at Goofy's!! Makes it feel like we are getting close!! 58 days!! Woo Hoo!!

Photopass Plus is worth it to me. The card they give you is valid for 14 days from the day you pick it up at the park. (They mail you a voucher to exchange for a card on a lanyard.) It includes the photo package taken at the character breakfasts that take photos and ride photos from certain rides. If you want more than a couple of photos, it is much more cost effective to purchase the PP+. For example: the photo package they sell at the character breakfasts costs $39.95. They were running a special on the Photopass website where you could download three photos for $30. So it wouldn't take much to cover the cost of the PP+.

I have not used the services yet, but i did order it for our upcoming trip. It seems completely worth its because we are doing character meals and meet and greets and you get all the ride photos. You get the pass for the entire stay of your trip (well if its not more then 14) and you can take as many pictures as you desire. And then you have them sent to you on a cd with printing rights

Am I correct that Critter Country is supposed to open back up on April 3rd? For some reason I thought I read that. We will be there April 1st and 2nd -- wondering what the chances are of a soft launch on those days

The first time we went , we bought all the ride photos.. and got the general photopass from the photographer in the park... and were ok with that.. we got the rides because they were so crazy.. lol
at RSR the CM asked how many photos did we have, I told her over the last 3 days lots.. she said go to the photo shop and exchange it for the plus... in the park it cost $99. but because we had spent so much over the 3 days we actually got money back... !!
when you get the plus you have paid for your photos. no matter how many you end up ordering... with just the regular photopass , you will have to pay for any photos that you order...plus the edits..
So all that to say,, yes for us its worth it... we love the ride photos.. and we always to stop the photographers to take our pics.. my husband is terrible at taking photos , cuts my head off etc so its one way of showing the world that I was with them at Disneyland.. plus any editing that you do will be in the cost of the card.. ..
$69. 14 days before trip. or $99 in the park is still better than having my husband cut my head off once again..! :rolleyes1

Thanks everyone! My hubs is the worst photographer. I don't have a single pic of me not blurry in 11 years of marriage. So, I am gonna order it up today. Thanks again!

Also, think of how nice it will be to have a photo of BOTH of you!

Checking in for April, but I'm starting to rethink it. I've been watching Fantasmic Dining Package calendar and it shows none available on April 6, 7, 8. (right after Easter Sunday) But then has Thursday the 9th--weird.

I know our hours/entertainment is not posted yet, so I'm hoping this is not correct-- Easter is early this year and our Spring Break is after. AP's are blocked out and Touring Plans shows solid 8ish crowds. Why would they darken the show that week?

I hope they fill in those dates. Of course it will confirm higher crowds. But no Fantasmic plus 60th looming... has me thinking about postponing.

Oops maybe the logical thing would be to go for it, and book a 60th trip later in the year. Of course!

If I recall correctly i seen posted, maybe on this thread or maybe on another that F! was going to be black those dates? As in not showing. But I could be mistaken.

Bingo! Fantasmic dining is now available for the week after Easter. Exhale!

I've been checking every day for Fantasmic dining the 12-15 and have found nothing. Hoping that's because it just hasn't shown up yet? You are giving me hope!

As for the photopass+, we have done it several times and have loved it every time. And it's very affordable compared to Memory Maker at WDW. We actually aren't planning to do it this time, but that might change too.

Anyone having issues booking the F! dining packages? It's showing available times for my date, but when I try to click on them, it just refreshes the page.

Just looked up park hours for April 1st at CA - there will be early entry for hotel guests so we'll have to deal with the fact that folks will be in the park before us. Got the entertainment schedule, too. Booked the Carthay Circle World of Color package for 5:00pm and WoC is at 9:45pm. Plenty of time to visit Freeze the Night!
