Just got one as an early Valentine gift from DH, I know nothing about it,tell me about it do you like it why what does it do? TIA:goodvibes

I LOVE mine! You can listen to music, watch videos, and play games on it. If you got the newest one, you can take pictures and video with it, too. Start scouring the app store for things to play with. I recommend Angry Birds! Have fun!

Oh yeah, if you buy DVD's and get ones with the digital copy, you can copy those right into iTunes and on to your touch.

It's pretty much like an iPhone except you can't make phone calls (well maybe you can skype? not sure about that) and it uses WiFi connection (ie. the internet) to connect to the web. You can downloand from iTunes directly to your iTouch instead of having to sync things, you can check email, facebook, TMZ etc. and download apps! I download some games and movies for the kids to watch if we are waiting at the Doctor's office or stuck in traffic and they get cranky.

Have fun playing with it - what a great gift!! :)

just be aware that your kids will take it over! :rotfl:
mine is filled with kids apps.

One suggestion I will make is to buy iTunes gift cards to use to pay for your apps. It helps put a limit on how much you spend at one time. I looked at the credit card bill once and my husband had spent $40 on a bunch of 99¢ apps - you think - oh, it is just a dollar - not a big deal - but then before you know it you have spent more than that.

There are plenty of free apps out there - but don't be afraid to spend money on the apps that do cost money - because many of them are really good!

The first one I would suggest for you is eTicket! - so easy to read DISboards. :thumbsup2

You can use Whistle app to make phone calls using wifi too.
My DD has one. I put all her movies on it and plug it into her TV to watch her movies. Love not having to drag around a big case of dvds anymore.
She mostly uses it for all the games.
Have fun!

If it's the newest version with the camera, then hook yourself up with Facetime. We used it for the 1st time last night and had a blast doing a video call with family in NC.

With facetime, you can do free video calls through your wi-fi to an iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4.

You can actually make phone calls and text also. There are a few different apps for each. Just have to be connected to wifi to do so

wow sound like fun!!! tell me more aboue eticket? and any more apps sugestions:cool1: I am not a techy at all so I am gathering all your info thanks!

tried to add angry birds but it says I need to open an acct then it asks for CC info but this app is free what am I missing? I really dont want to add a CC:confused3

I 3rd Angry Birds...unless of coarse you actually want to do something constructive in your spare time.;) Very addictive!

I love my ipod touch! We put all of our CDs into itunes and created playlists. I bought a docking station that hooks up to our entertainment system and I can play the music thru it. I love having some background music while I read or surf the internet. The sound is so much better than listening thru laptop speakers!

I have apps for games, netflix, and kindle. I don't do the texting or skype because I have an iphone but it sounds really cool. Are the apps available on itunes or do you have to download them from someplace else?

I have a few videos that I either got digital copies from DVD purchase or from buying them on itunes. They take up at least 1GB of space so I only put video on the ipod when I want to take something to watch with me on a long trip.

And I'm the mom who took her kids' ipods when they weren't looking instead of the other way around! It's what got me hooked. It is so much more user-friendly than my old MP3 player and so much more versatile.

I'm all conected have Netflix, Angry bird lite and Facebook please sugest some more fun app thanks:goodvibes it's awsome i'm loving it!.

Facetime is a must for deployed or military families. It's been awesome while my youngest was in the hospital that i could talk to my dh who is deployed Plus having MY own moives for over night trips/flights or just while they are playing. Very cool. Haven't loaded much on it but it was well worth it.

buy words with friends - it is electronic scrabble...Our whole family plays each other (2 player game). Very addicting, and fun. Great for little ones!

I skimmed the other posts - did anyone mention listening to the Dis Unplugged Podcast? Also, you can search Disney and find someother great podcasts to listen to while waiting for a new Dis Unplugged to be released!

anymore Apps sugestions would be much apprecited especially for my DD's and of course mommy;)

If your DD still will watch Sesame Street they have free ones on itunes.

DH just got dragon speak so he could just reply to work emails without typing.

We use the itunes gift cards as opposed to adding a CC.
