I know I should be asleep,, but I am still cranked up from the cruise,, for those of you who were wondering, we absolutely LOVED the Anguilla Dolphin... we spend about 45 mins with the dolphins, five to one with each dolphin, (we switched between three of them,) we swam, danced, played catch, fed them, kissed them, pet them raced them (they won) it was AMAZING!! and the beach we just beautiful, the only drawback was they are on "island time" when it comes to the ferry, and the lunch left MUCH to be desired, it was great we could get our pictures on CD so I can make all the copies I want, it was the absolute BESt excursion I have ever done!

Ann, I am so pleased that you had a great time. Did DH cheer up? I'm sure he did. I can't wait for your trip report! What's this about Paige Davis? I love Trading Spaces!

yes Jay had a wonderful time, he was a bit apprehensive as we returned but I assured him again that what is meant to be will be. Paige Davis and her husband Patrick page were on board. (he is scar on the broadway production of the lion king) her husband is a FANTASTIC guy so funny and down to earth. I really love trading spaces but was a bit dissapointed in her,, but then again I am not a "star", I kinda gave her her "space" and she actually was friendly towards us when we ran into her in st. marten later in the day and yesterday as castaway cay. I was not going to bug her for her picture or autograph.. (although she may be on one of my shots just because we were in the same group.) I did film for her, she and her husband while they were in with the stingrays, as I said he is just a great guy!! I really need to get to bed, I was just looking up as we found the green lable scotch for his dad,, I hope we didn't make a poor choice as he wanted the gold, but the green you can't get in America,, ok I am off.. ttfn! ann

Thanks for the info...we were told the excursion was full & our DD 9 was VERY disappointed....I faxed in our excursion choices, showing that as #1 choice & received confirmation that we get to go!! Santa is going to let DD know we get to go!!

Can't wait!

Where is this excursion at? Sounds great- thanks for the report on it!
What do you mean the drawback about the ferry being on island time?

Ann, thanks for letting us know about the dolphin excursion. I've waiting for months for your report! We had already planned on doing this excursion and your excitement makes me even more excited.

what I meant was there is a differnt mentality in the islands, I call it island time. Being from New England we are very punctual and when we say 7:30 we mean 7:30... luckilly for my blood pressure I was aware of island time, one lady behind us was having a total melt down (it really was a waste of energy since her annoyance was not going to make the ferry arive any sooner) we did not get on the ferry until about 8:45... we were told we would be back in St. Maarten for 3pm ( knew in advance this would not happen- I planned on about 4:30)
There were quite a few folks upset that our ferry did not leave Anguilla until about 3:40, we just decided to skip dinner and shop anyhow, island time is a state of mind, you can not fight it - best to accept it and let it flow :)

even though it is a full day excursion, you still had time to shop!

How much time? Enough time to purchase the GuavaBerry Rum?

TIA

We got back to the ferry dock (which is right near the ship)at about 4:40om. Since we are fairly familiar with St. Maarten and knew what we were looking for and which shops to go to it was pretty easy. Picked up the absolute and the Johnny walker and then hit the jewelry store. Unortunately/fortunately the piece I saw was more than the TC's we had on us. I was going to let it go but Jay took a cab back to the ship and got the rest of the $$) that was a bit scarey as it was dark and Mike and I walked around looking for stuff for him. It all ended well though :)

we got back to the ship about 7:15 or so.

I had all but given up on shopping but you have now given me hope!

:jumping1:

Have a Happy Holiday!

Off to look at the pics now- but wanted to say thank you for explaining the "island time" comment. That's good to know- so I can prepare myself in advance to NOT have a "melt down" as you described. I get impatient with tardiness- so now I know ahead of time...
That's not an excursion we'll be likely to be able to do. I'll have to check more info on it but I'm betting they won't allow under a certain age- probably not our 4 almost 5yr old at that time... and being such a long excursion we wouldn't want to leave her on the ship in the club for that long. So it will have to be something we do on future cruises probably.
Thanks though!

yes it is, it was on the Eastern in Anguilla.

We are looking forward to booking the dolphin encounter for our Eastern trip in Feb. A few questions-

How old were the "youngest and still happiest" kids on your trip? We have 2 girls ages 8 and 6.

Also (perhaps a bigger WORRY) how long and bouncy was the ferry ride to the island? Is this a sea sickness mistake?
Thanks- your photos are great!
