That's really too bad.

We purchased Vero Beach last December when we were in WDW, on the advice of our so-called "guide", but knowing that when we got home I could do research on the DIS.

We also had purchased enough points for a ONE bedroom for the 5 of us (on the advice of our guide), and to go during a time that I have discovered is extrememly difficult to get the BWV.

I didn't come home and ask the questions on the DVC board--I read the posts that were here, and then asked questions based on things I read. I don't even know if I would have asked the questions, because we got the go ahead from the guide.

Based on the information I got here, we canceled and bought a BWV resale, with more points, and are EXTREMELY relieved we did. Whether MS, or guides, allow 5 in a room now, after reading the information here, it made sense to us to get enough points for a 2 bedroom, and at the BWV.

Is a new person interested in the DVC even going to consider going to the DEBATE board for information? I don't go to that board, and I've been here for 2 years. Too bad people are going to miss out on the information.

It may be overworked to us that frequent this board, but what about a new person looking for information. I doubt they'd go to the Debate Board. Perhaps us Old-Timers should simply shy away from responding (usually with the same opinions) to overdone, hot topic threads. That's what I've had to do with my hot topic (renting). Just doesn't make sense to keep repeating myself. But the fact that there are others discussing would at least alert a newbie who could do a search and then be able to see all my wonderful insight. (he he!)

I don't think moving all occupancy threads (or renting threads or VB threads, etc.) to the Debate Board is a good idea for the new folks in the future. JMHO :0)

PS. As far as name calling, that should be dealt with individually -- not by making a blanket policy affecting all of us. There are many more of us who can disagree politely (and learn from one another's perspectives) than there are name callers. Deal with the trouble makers. Period.
