~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

OH my gravy (kidding) they give us infraction points? What is this y'all speak of? Closing the tread? You dis-ers are the only ones that enable my addictions!!!!

Yes the disboards has their own version of roadblocks (thread closure) and detours (points/deleted posts) when posters misbehave.

Too bad there is no prize for a million dollars in the deal.:surfweb:

I totally LOLed when that guy fell on the floor with the butter. We rewinded that part so many times on the DVR.

My neck and back ache--so while it is funny he slipped--I could not watch it again.:rotfl2:

IT did appear though that they could take the things one at a time versus balancing all the ingredients at once though.

I caught that also....I wonder why more didn't do that. When he fell all I could think was ......it's time for my pain medicine isn't it?:rotfl:

can't mummy be sick for a few days without the kiddies getting into trouble LOL

you have to weight out the time it takes to run back and forth to get each item vs trying to balance everything. since you don't know if your first middle or last at some of those road blocks most people would choose to grab everything and hope nothing falls off

that's true but it seemed to me that when ever they found the pantry it was after theyhad gotten the eggs and milk. I would have taken those 2 items to the kitchen and come back to the pantry.

Oh, sad news, earthquake in Chile, we just saw Val Paraiso in the Amazing race :(

I liked the Cowboys right from the start. I enjoyed that they went from a money exchange problem to Team #1! Oh my Gravy!

Seriously though, this is a competitian and they were not obligated to share their info with any other team. When the teams purchase airline tickets they do not have a little huddle with the rest of the eams discussing which flight would be the better choice. If one team figures out that one flight is quicker they take it, they do not tell the rest of the teams so they can all take advantage.

I liked team Grandma and wanted them to last. I an a Nana and i never got the impression that Grandma was saying she favored the GC that she was with, just that she knew her better than the others. My DMIL has 5 grandchildren with two of them raised across the country. She loved them all as they grew up but she knew my three better. She did not prefer them but she had a relationship that was different because she saw them all of the time, they talked more and went to different places. When she was with my niece and nephew they did a lot of sightseeing, enjoyed a more concentrated visit and had different experiences. With mine they went out to eat, had impromptu visits and that kind of thing. Her love for all of them was strong, she liked thm all as well, but she "knew" mine in a different way. I imagine that if Grandma had time to think about her words she may have tried to phrase them differently but what she said was not hurtful IMO.

I hope that the two lesbians go home. i also cannto understand why they think that they are entitled to any "ssecrets" that the Cowboys may have. They were on the early bus...lucky them!

You're bet! They don't have to share info, its a race. Remember Charla and Mirna? They were the masters of plane tricks and they never shared any info. They were so sneaky haha I remember one time they were all sleeping at the airport waiting for they flight and they woke up all quiet to sneak out because they had found an earlier flight.

Promo I saw this morning said they would be in Argentina, riding and roping. Should play to the cowboys' strengths!

We finally watched last week's episode last night. The cowboys are becoming a favorite team. I love that they found out the info and didn't share it! I also found it crazy that the other teams even attempted to taxi to the other bus station. Did they really think the bus would leave late? They should have just tried to get on the cowboy's bus.

Still a fan of J & J.

I figured the Grandma/GDaughter would be out early. I don't have high hopes for the buddies (Private Investigators) & the Father/Daughter teams. Still not loving the Lesbian couple or the brothers, the team with one of the brothers named Jordan.

Looking forward to tonight's episode, though Lord knows when I'll actually be able to watch it!

Robin, where is your menu for tonight?! :confused3 I've been so inspired by your meals, I decided to try this in our house too. I'm a little kitchen-impaired, though, so I'm looking for easy recipes. ;)

Tonight, we're having Crillo de Pollo, an Argentine chicken, potato and corn chowder, with Chipas, an Argentine cheese bread.

I couldn't find a dessert recipe easy enough for me, but noticed caramel seems common in Argentine sweets, so I just bought some vanilla ice cream with a caramel swirl. :rotfl:

We had to go out to a family dinner last Sunday, so didn't do anything Chilean, and for the first episode, it was a hectic weekend, so I just made grilled chicken, quinoa from a box, and had some Chilean grapes to accompany it! :rotfl:

Hope I can continue this every week from now on! :thumbsup2

It's going to be eiry watching tonight, after the earthquakes in Chile and Argentina. :guilty: I wonder if they filmed in the affected areas.

Yeah, the cowboys should cruise through tonight, and keep their first place ranking! I hope so, they seem like really nice guys.

Love the cowboys, their positive attitude. The cops were funny ;) J J team need to get their head in the game and read the clues.

Great show tonight! I am loving the cowboys more each week. They are quite funny.

I still think the team to watch though is the father/daughter team (2nd place tonight). They are flying under the radar.
