~ The Amazing Race ~ Season 16 ~

Did anyone notice how they did not show all the teams leaving the pit stop this week? I am pretty sure I didn't miss anything. They showed Jordan and Jeff leaving at 3:12am and then they fast forward to 5am when everyone was at the airport. I like watching them leave the pit stop, it gives me an idea of how far apart everyone was. I guess they all must have come in really close. It was a first, anyway.

Time to chime in:

-I really dislike the cowboys.
-The spitting, I think it's a disgusting habit and I think anyone who does it is disgusting (under any circumstances) but it doesn't make me like them more or less.
-I liked the team that got eliminated. The grandmother saying it was her fault they got eliminated during the pantry fun... I agree. At least, I though the granddaughter should have done that one.
-I still really dislike the cowboys. What they did at the bus station was scummy. I understand when it's between you and another team being eliminated but it wasn't, all those teams were clearly going to be in the top half so why screw them over? Karma... I hope in bites them in the rear HARD!
-I don't have a favorite team yet.

Me too, I will chime in....

The cowboys "oh my gravy".... :lmao: I like them. Even though last week I thought that was such a bad move when they exchanged out their money BUT this week with the buses, that is exactly how you play the game. I do not believe it was wrong or scummy at all.

:crazy2: Now as far as Caite spitting....GROSS, totally gross. :crazy2: If someone has to spit :crazy2: whether or not you have a cold or have a cold and are pregnant; whatever the case may be, do it INTO A NAPKIN!!!! :headache: Then she turns and looks to see who saw her spit and says "sorry"..... she has to know that was DISGUSTING. :crazy2: All I have to say about that is ..... "SUCH AS"..... :lmao: :lmao:

I was  when Granny got kicked by the cow but so glad to see she was fine. ::yes::

Cowboys - Teams might have considered them underdogs.. Not so much anymore :thumbsup2

Lesbian couple - Hope they go home next! That one is so fricken rude :headache:

I don't have a favorite team yet - can't wait till next week :goodvibes

I'm glad Granny team left because I think it was mean for any grandma to ever acknowledge out loud (especially on national TV) that they prefer some grandchildren over others! Not acceptable!

"Oh My Gravy" is getting old! Cute once--over and over---not so much!

Ditzy Jordan is child like--I don't think it's an act and it doesn't get on my nerves. I find it refreshing. Again, for those of you that don't know she was in special ed classes and she is not putting on a "dumb act". What she lacks in book smarts she has lots and lots of people smarts --which is apparent when she told Jeff, "they're all working together" when the married couple allowed the lesbian couple to cut in line. Go team JJ!:cheer2:

I never watched Big Brother so I never saw Jordan before, but she reminds me of Kristen Chenoweth!!

I didn't see that as having lots and lots of people smarts. She was stating the obvious. Everyone there knew they were working together.

I've seen plenty of teen girls and young adult women act the way Jordan acts during the interviews. Oddly, they seem to always do it around guys. For some odd reason they think acting silly around guys is cute. I didn't get when I was that age and I don't get now. I find it down right annoying.

Well some of us adults in this thread act more like teens arguing
about who's dumb and dumber, come on. :confused3

I guess, yes, I can say I will never be in that situation...I will never be in a beauty pageant and give the wrong answer, and I will never, ever go on a reality show where I know the editors have 90% control over how I am being perceived. Sorry, but I find TAR funny as heck, and downright entertaining, and figure the people on it have signed on for...Whatever...stupid mistakes, editing, people's opinions. That is half the fun of the show. Last night, I just laughed and laughed, between the llamas and those people flying off the docks dressed as birds, I thought it was hysterical.

So don't take it too seriously, but yes, I find the Teen USA hysterical and dumb as rocks, actually.

Then I really feel sorry for your judgmental attitude and the children you teach, if your screen name is an indication of your profession.

What did the cowboys do that was so wrong? They just chose not to share information to give themselves an edge. It's a race after all. It's not like they lied to the other two teams, or overtly misled them in any intentional way. It was pure gamesmanship.

I agree, what exactly did the do that was so wrong. Not share info that they were smart enough to go find out. If none of the other 4 players, were smart enough to go ask for info, when they didn't readily see their bus, it is not up to the Cowboys to pass along that info once they got it.

They knew, from listen to the others that they were on an earlier bus. They thought to talk to someone about changing thier tickets. When they found out the details, they choose not to act on the info they got. There was no reason for them to tell the other two teams, oh ya by the way, you need to go up the road and catch your bus.

At least she stated the obvious! The married couple were trying to play it as "they gave us their money--so we are just holding their places for them". I think they wanted to downplay an alliance and Jodrdan called them out. That takes smarts and bravery! The "lots and lots" is more in reference to how she played in Big Brother where her people smarts won her first place! I think sometimes Jordan comes across as young and naive but I don't think it's an "act" or ploy for the boys! It's just her!

I didn't find DisTeach1 judgemental at all...we all have our own opinions! Everyone is entitled to think what we please! Yea, I'm a Jordan fan, yet I find the humor in her silly mistakes!

This is an entertaining season and discussing it with others who also enjoy it... is all in lighthearted fun!

I agree the cowboys did nothing wrong...it's a contest for lots of money! It was an "Oh,my gravy" good move!!!! :rotfl2:

I agree, its a race, they didn't sabotage anyone, they just didn't share the info.

I agree that they really didn't do anything wrong, but the way they were laughing about it really rubbed me the wrong way. Other teams in similar situations during past races have at least shown a little concern for the team(s) in trouble, rather than just laugh at them.

I don't think it's a matter of them being "smart enough" to find out, either. It was pure luck that they found out. If they'd been on the 6:30 bus too, they wouldn't have asked about switching buses, and no one would have told them that the 6:30 bus left from a different station, either.

But the other teams were not in trouble, just not in the right place.

I don't know, even if they had been on the same bus as the other 2 teams, I still think they would have found out about the different location.

I know for me, if I had gotten off that bus and didn't see the bus that I was to be getting on in a half an hour, I would have been asking someone who worked at the bus station, where the bus was and double checking on it status. I wouldn't have been waiting around until the last minute to find out what was going on. I think the Cowboys would have done the same thing.

And I really hope the Cowboys tell the girls to nicely go stuff it, when they drill them on how'd you get ahead of us next week.

It was their fault for not checking, they should had gone to the ticket office and ask about their bus right away. I hope they had learn their lesson.

Yeah..I'll remember that next time. And then vomit while searching for that blessed napkin.

Yes it is gross--there is no denying it. I feel bad when I have to do it. But stop pretending as though just b/c it were a bad thing to do and in your eyes an easy fix, than it actually is.

I do attempt to be discreet about it and for the most part, noone notices me. But they surely would notice the vomiting.
