I've been to Disney many times but am about to book LLs for the first time, my kids have done it in the past. I've been researching on these boards and also watched a few Youtube videos, I still have the following questions. I understand the basics and plan to purchase some single and some multi.
- When I start to make my choices on the correct day, as I am choosing them for the 3 parks we are visiting during our 4 day trip, will the system "hold" those reservations as I am making them for all 3 parks? Or, will I get to the end and will it tell me to choose something else? You know how when you buy concert tickets from Ticketmaster, it tells you that you have a certain number of minutes to complete the sale. Would it benefit me to choose the one or two I really care about and make that one transaction, then go back and make another transaction?
- How long do I have? One of the videos said 5 minutes, that doesn't seem like much to get 3 parks chosen!
- I've been reading on this site about folks who choose a non in-demand ride first to "burn" it? I don't understand that, what is the purpose. Is it to unlock another tier 1? The multi pass gives you 1 tier 1 and 2 tier 2, right? Or are there some passes that are just tier 2. When you are done with the first attraction, is anything available on multi pass up for grabs? I do understand that it is not like Genie plus in that you have to use the ride and not just wait 2 hours to get another.
- Do the prices change a lot and what is the best way to get a good prediction of what they are? If I am not a registered guest the day before, how can I see them? I don't want to have to decide while I am beating the clock to get this finished. The samples I saw for singles had big ranges, from maybe $15 up to $25 for ROR, and once you multiply that for a group the differences in prices might affect my decisions.

This really does take research and learning to master, I think if you went into a park without any research you'd just be lost. Thanks!

You book only one day at a time. So you choose a park, then you have 5 minutes to choose 3 rides in that one park and pay for that day in that park. Then you choose another park. You do not have to book days chronologically - if choices in the park you plan for your 3rd day, for instance, are known to book up very quickly, you can book day 3 first, then book the remaining days in any order you choose. Booking LLMPs are separate transactions from booking LLSPs.

You’ll be able to see prices for the next 21 days when you start to book, and the prices won’t change.

5 minutes is the time you have to choose your attraction and pay. You can do LLMP and SP for the same day in the same transaction. It doesn’t sound like much time but it’s plenty of time if you plan out what you want ahead of time and don’t go into without a game plan.

The point of the burner ride is to unlock Tier 1 rides or rides in another park. As soon as you tap into your first ride you can try to pick up any ride in any park. The best selection of rides day of is first thing in the morning so if you can’t find anything you want to ride in the first hour you tap into a burner to “unlock” all the rides and see if you can snag something good for later.

At the end of the day though a burner ride is just a gamble. If you can’t find what you want you’ll end up booking a mediocre tier 2 likely for later in the day.

Generally Disney info sites will post the prices for the upcoming month as soon as they have them.

In terms of "not a registered guest the day before" I'm confused. Are you saying you would be booking your room and your LL on the same day? Because unless you're a registered guest at a Disney Resort you can't book them 7 days in advance. You'd need to have your resort reservation first.
