The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

Alex and Lynn are plucking my last nerve. You want a new drinking game? Take a drink every time they say the names Rob or Amber. You'll be under the table by the first commercial break.

You know what is pathetic? All the great sights they are seeing and all the fun things they are doing and probably the best memory for them so far is they beat a man from Boston to a pit stop.

Alex and Lynn should be thanking Rob and Amber that they didn't yield them. Had Alex and Lynn been 1st you can bet they would have wasted a yield on Rob and Amber.

Next week I hope either Alex and Lynn go or the mom/son team.

Favorites so far:

Rob and Amber
The brothers (They are having fun, just need to play better, but did move up this week from last)
Uchenna/Joyce (I wasn't sure about them before, but like them alot after this week) I was sorry they got lost and missed being first

Another great episode. I bet next week they go to a European country.

I think we have covered alot of South America. I agree that next week we should at least get to another continent.

Based on what I saw on Survivor All-Stars and the first few episodes of Amazing Race, it seems that Rob is a person who is willing to sacrifice his integrity (if he has any) just to win a game. This may work great to get him a million dollars, but in real life it won't be long before Amber tires of his "game-playing" and dishonesty. For example, on the episode when he bribed the guard not to tell anyone else about the earlier bus, and then he was ASKED if he did it, he lied and said he didn't do it. Why not just tell the truth and say "Yup, I did it--pretty smart move, huh?" Then, tonight, he has the nerve to say, as he is pulling away in the stolen taxi, "serves you right for calling me a liar." Hello, you ARE a liar!! Anyway, obviously all I know of Rob is from watching him on TV, but it does appear he has little integrity and I hope Amber doesn't get burned in their marriage. I hope she is at least having him sign a pre-nup so he can't get his mitts on her million.

What I always wonder is this just an act that people do for the show. Someone earlier mentioned that when he was on the first Survivor he was completely different. This is the repetition that he has so play it up it gets you a lot of camera time. It is great for TV.

Yep, the "boyfriends" need to get over the Romber thing...but I must say I was very happy for them when they passed them in the raft challange....however, I really, really wanted the African-American couple to get first place ahead of them. I think that couple just might be my favorite so far.

And I must say Rob was brilliant to come up with that strategy and has defnitely won me over...not that I want them to win...just that I'm glad they're on the show for entertainment's sake. They could definitely teach the others a thing or two.

I was sad to see the girl team go though...the redhead showed iron will in eating all that nasty meat....but what a stupid mistake to be lost for so long and not know it...talk about a "blonde" moment :p

Now the one who irked me the most this week was the son...normally it's the mom...but when he threw his little tantrum right before the meat eating scene, he showed a true lack of maturity...no wonder he's there with his mom...noone else would put up with him...but then again, he did finish the meat, and gained back some of my respect for doing so.

Can't wait til next week! :Pinkbounc

:rotfl2: So true.

I like Amber and Rob, didn't watch Survivor, so I don't know how they were before. But they make the show fun to watch, as do the brothers, I like them also.
Did Alex and Lynn get anything for coming in first? I don't recall anything being said.

That meat eating challenge ruined the leg from me. When it's to teams' advantage to quit on one of the tasks, it's poorly designed. I'm not a big fan of the Fear Factor-style eating challenges they've had lately in the first place, and the one tonight was way over the line.

Same here! save the gross food for fear factor :earseek: -yuk-I can see spicey, but cow utters/interstines-please! :sad2: Anyways I agree those boys need to get over rob/amber-and did anyone see if they won anything for first place-every other show I've seen the 1st place team wins something-too bad if they didn't :guilty: But this is a great season so far-so good!

I am in the minority here but I think Rob is a big time jerk. I would be ashamed if I knew he came from around me. He is very irratating, a cheat and just generally a jerk. I for one will be glad when he is gone.

I don't like Rob and Amber that much but they sure know how to play the game. Great strategy on their part. I didn't like how Rob stole the cab but great job in calculating that he was better off waiting 4 hours than eating the meat.

I hope this is the last of Fear Factor meets Amazing Race. The disgusting food challenges have got to go.

Also the mother son team can go now. They are too whiny.

I wonder where they will go next week.

I don't remember this but dh said that rob had a horrible time with the food challenges on survivor. something about fish? whatever, it was a brilliant move on Rob's part.

Yes, the first Survivor Rob was on, Survivor(3) Marquesis. He helped lose an immunity challenge for his team, because he could not eat the rotten fish. The fish was literally rotten. Rob threw up.

I repeat what I said last week, Rob and Amber, IMO are the SMARTEST team to ever compete in the Amazing Race. I have seen every episode of every season of AR, and they are unbelievable!

LOL moment of the night...when the food eating boyfriend hurled in Uchenna's direction. He was mvoing his tray of meat away. Yup, sitting alone, I was LOL!

Actually, on Survivor Allstars Rob is the SOLE reason Amber won the million. Don't get me wrong, I like Amber. I think she's cute as a button and I'm really enjoying watching them interact as a couple on the AR. They work really well together and seem to genuinely love one another. But Rob is GREAT at strategy and he carried her all the way on Survivor. I loved watching him play the game on Survivor and I'm loving watching his devious little brain work to get ahead in this race.

On a side note, does anyone else think it's a little dangerous for these tiny people to stuff 4 pounds of meat into their stomachs? Doesn't it seem like they could burst? :confused3

I love Rob and Amber. They are playing dirty but smart. Its a game win any way you can as long as you are not causing physical harm to another. This is also the first time watching AR and love it.

i agree...the food challenge was yucky but lets be realistic...4 POUNDS! i couldn't even eat that much if it was good stuff...oh yeah, well maybe on the DCL cruise i would...maybe on the cruise i have...never mind.... :rotfl:

I agree. I love the way he manipulates the other teams to do what he wants without them actually knowing it. He isn't my favorite person in the world, but he is a fabulous contestant.

The gross food challenges don't really bother me. At least they are appropriate for the country the leg is in. Now, if they served monkey brains in Chicago or haggis in Tokyo, that's just wrong. :earboy2:

Was I the only one waiting for the mother to give her son the old "there are starving children in ________" speech? :rotfl:

As for Rob -- in a way he reminds me a lot of my best friend. He's a hard working family man and a great guy to be around. When we were younger, though, and a group of us got together to play Risk or D&D, he was cutthroat! He would stay within the rules but he would plot and scheme while doing so. Just like my friend, I would venture to guess the Rob in the game is not the same Rob people would see off-camera.

I was not a Rob & Amber fan when they were on Survivor. But, I love them on AR. I am actually liking them more and more each week. I think this is probably the best AR. I also like the brothers.

The team that came in first place didn't they win a trip? I thought the team that comes in first at the pit stop always seems to win a trip.
