Okay, is it just me or is anyone else sick and tired of the team(s) that want to constantly bicker and feud with the taxi drivers. Maybe I'm just not that type of person; I mean, really, would an extra $5 or $10 kill you?! Did none of these teams watch what happened to Colin last season?! The taxi drivers looked like they could have used the money a lot more than the team! UGH!

Don't forget, though, that last year Chip & Kim ran out of money and didn't have enough to pay their cab driver in Dubai. That could have been rough if the driver hadn't decided to let them off the hook. So you've got to watch your expenses. $5 or $10 could cause you to be eliminated.

And didn't last night's team negotiate a price of $30? I think the driver said "no problem," but wanted $50 at the end. I think they gave him $40, and drew the line there.

I think the thing that I thought was horrible about the whole cab situation was when she told the cab driver something about taking the 30 dollars as it is probably more than you made all year...

I also thought it was funny when Hellboy was whining about the salt in his eyes and she referred to him as her girlfriend...then when he asked her if it would make her happy if he jumped off the boat and she said yes...

BTW - If you watched the Insider videos, they showed the finish of the prior leg. Kris and Jon arrived at the same time as the other team (Aaron/Hayden, I think). Instead of fighting over who'd be first, the two teams played a game of rock, paper, scissors. Kris and Jon lost, so they stepped aside and let the other team finish first and claim the cruise. That's awesome!

I did notice that they were walking up together. I was thinking that maybe Kris & John let the others go first to get the trip, since they got the last one. But, I guess that was a fair way to figure it out. I really like Kris and John, they're definitely one of my favorites. I can't believe how much she kicked butt on the salt challenge.

It is hard for me to pick a favorite team this season. They usually don't have so many likeable teams. I can tell you who I don't like...Adam and Rebecca...(I have to wonder why she is attracted to a man (the term man is used very loosely) like that in the first place and Jon and Victoria, (I again wonder why Victoria would be attracted to a personality like him). Albeit, Boo-Boo, as she affectionately referred to him when waking him, was tolerable this episode.

Next week looks emotional where Gus breaks down while visiting a place of confinement for slaves. And, Hayden screaming at Bolo, that he is 5'5 and on steriods. He screams back, I'm not on steriods. I didn't realize he was so small.

Didn't Kris and Jon come in first and win the cruise?

They were second last week, although in a virtual tie. But they were first the week before last, and I think they scored a trip to Hawaii for it. They got a cruise last night..

Count me in as another big fan of Kristy and Jon- they are great together and have a terrific attitude.

I like Gus & Hera, but why does he always pick the crummy detours? MJ cracked me up- "Every time Don threw up, I caught a fish!" And they are so supportive of each other- very cool.

Can't stand "Wussboy." I also wanted to take Jonathan's hat and light it on fire- UGLY!

Kris and Jon are a great team/couple! I sure would LOVE to see them win this one! They just *go with the flow*, and are truly enjoying themselves. They constantly have HUGE smiles on their faces - very fun to watch!

Couldn't believe how quiet Jonathan was last night. I had seen an interview before this season started, and they had said that there was a team that was so loud and obnoxious that the sound editors had a very hard time dealing with it.

I too like the fact that they are only allowed to do no more than 6 roadblocks per person! I too hope that they start to make flights a little more interesting - versus everyone pretty much on the same flight. As for the lead teams being sent off to places that don't open for hours and hours - I never have really understood this either! Seems to be happening a lot more this go round than in the past though. I still love this show though, and some day would love to be able to be a participant with my sister - we could kick some hinny!!! hehehe

I think that this season was being filmed while the last season was airing on TV, therefore they probably didn't know what happened to Colin. Hopefully, after these two incidents, future racers will wise up before someone ends up in jail... or worse.

I like several of the teams this time, too--as mentioned, Jon and Kristy, Hayden and Aaron, and Gus and Hera. Gus really needs to keep his shirt on, though. Please, we're begging you, here!

I have to admit I liked Don and Mary Jean last night, but haven't cared for them up to this point. I don't see them making it to the end (then again, probably not Gus and Hera, either, but you never know).

Seriously, i have said it before, if I were his daughter I would tell him to keep it on....especially in tight quarters like a cab

Did anyone else notice when the cab driver was insisting he be paid more money, that some guy came over and pulled him aside? I was wondering if he was with the Amazing Race or just a bystander. I'm thinking he might have been with the show because, unlike the situation with Colin, the driver was asking for money than he initially said. So, I'm thinking maybe that's why the show stepped in before it got ugly, but then again, I could be totally wrong.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm wondering if they have people working for AR at the various task areas to help defuse any possible problems like that. They may even have started doing it due to Colin's problem with his cab driver.

It actually was Jonathan. In the weekly Insider video Phil does on the CBS/AR website(for episode 1), Phil says that the sound guys were coming to him saying that they have never recorded levels as high as they did with Jonathan. He calls Jonathan "the loudest competitor ever".

I agree that Victoria is seriously deluded if she thinks Jonathan is good daddy material. I feel sorry for the kids already!

He had on a lanyard with a yellow card. I assumed it was one of the AR staff. I'm sure that there are others there besides the film crew for situations just like that and to make sure that the clues, road blocks and detours are done correctly.

As far as getting to places and having to wait until they open, I think that is just the way it happens. On last night, didn't a couple of the teams get there right about when the tower opened because they got to the pit stop so much later than the others?

I like how the playing field is evened out because of having to wait but it does seem that they are doing it quite a bit this time. Maybe it's planned and maybe it's not.....

I can't remember if someone posted here previously, or on another board, that it would probably be a major pain to get all these places to be open for the racers 24/7, plus if the racers got really strung out (say 24 hours between the first and last place team) they would have to have AR people stationed all along the route until every team had passed.

Picture me this.....a team gets a 12 hour lead in the second leg of the race. Then, apon leaving the pit stop, they get to the airport to find the flight to their next destination takes off in a hour, but the next flight out to that same destination doesn't leave for 16 hours. So, the teams that are 12 hours behind, now have to wait another 4 hours, they are now 16 hours behind. Team number one gets to the destination, and completes all tasks, detours and roadblock, all before the 16 hours are up, they go to the pitstop,who KNOWS what the lead is now, but they are so far ahead now, nobody can catch up.

Nice for the team in the lead, but for me as a veiwer, and since it is us viewers that allow this show to be on TV (because we watch) that scenerio would be very, very boring. How exciting would it be to watch a show week after week with the same team so far out in a lead, you know they are going to win by the 4th episode?

Look at last season, even with the catch up parts, Colin and Christy kept coming in 1st, some of us viewers were getting tired of seeing them come in 1st week after week.

I like not knowing week after week who is going to end up in the lead. It is a new game every week. Makes it more exciting to be able to root for a team that is behind, and then see them come in first. Look at Chip and Kim...they were very derserving winners, but the first few legs of the race, they barely made it. If not for the catch up points, they would not have had a chance in hell of winning the game. Colin and Christy would of won, hands down.

Or, how about season one? Team Guido, they were so cocky about their position in the race (they had constantly been in the top 2 or 3 every week. Yet, the end of the race, they were not even in the COUNTRY when the winners crossed the finish line. I LOVED it.

That happened once last season--the team got out on a flight and into the next destination way way way way way ahead of everyone--but b/c of hours, their much comfortable lead became much shorter. But at least they were at the locale not having to worry about being the last ones there.

They were in country--just not in the Continental US--they did make it to Alaska--shortly before the overnight or the first clue box after the overnight was when they got their love note from Phil that the other two teams made it to the finish line.

Of course the "catch ups" are planned. There's not always a task at these places, just a clue. They could put a clue anywhere they wanted. But, they're putting them in places that have business hours.
