I'm not a type A, but when it came to WDW, the 3rd time we went, my family disowned me. Now they beg to go back.

I'm right there with ya! I suggested that my next trip to WDW would maybe be a solo trip and everyone said that would be a good idea. We'll see who changes their mind when I start planning it, though.

Anyone know why the description for this episode stated "a medical emergency strands one team in Indonesia?"

I also really don't like teams basically "cheating" and giving others the answer. I think there should be a penalty for that.

Also about the clues being harder this year - it's one thing if you need to read very carefully but another if you (a) leave a big piece of information out or (b) if the clues are intentionally misleading as last week. I don't think the clues are written well at all this year.

One of the teachers I work with went to the local casting call for AR. He said he got there at 6 AM, for an 11 AM start. They filled out some paper work and got about 2 minutes to state their case. He would be running the race with a former student. He made sure to let them know that, since there hasn't been a student/teacher duo yet. What's even better, he teaches American Sign Language, so he and his student could communicate with sign language (even though they can both hear). When he asked when they might hear, he was told it could be years! He could only race during the summer, since he can't take off for 4 weeks during the school year.

QUESTION: Did anyone else notice that they did NOT actually step on to the mat this episode? They all stopped just before they would step on it. In past season's there has been a big show by teams of jumping onto the mat and I know they always have actually been on it.

Any idea why they didn't step on it? I haven't noticed if they did that in the previous episodes this season. Could it just be something to do with Indonesian culture or this a new thing this season?

The Asian girl-her boyfriend commented in a sit-down interview how she prepared for the Amazing Race for 6 months-packing, exercising, studying Geography and different languages.

All I could think was "Amateur-- I spent 9 months doing most of that and more for our first Disney trip!"

I was wondering the same thing as no one stepped on the mat. Usually they jump on the mat because they are happy to have finished that leg of the race. My guess would be that it has something to do with the culture. Maybe you have to remove your shoes before you step on carpeting????

It was the vegas showgirls. The dark haired ones who lost a passport.

Probably will never happen teacher/student combo. I never knew the had an open casting call, the last time I looked at how to apply, it was a 20 page essay questions.

Anyone else notice the kiss of death interview with the father son team? As soon as he said they knew how to navigate, dh and I looked at each other and said "they're going to get lost!". Glad it didn't hurt them much. We like them and the snowboarders.

You could tell pretty quickly. It wasn't that dramatic to the end, and when they stepped on the mat, he asked them about the race before telling them they were eliminated.

What's interesting is that they apparently don't have any money on the next leg...according to the preview. I'm wondering if it's because it showed they have Indonesian money and forgot to exchange it? Otherwise I can't figure it out...

I htink that they forgot to exchange their money for Thai currency.

I don't mind if teams "cheat" b giving each other the answers. They tend to team up for a while and it is interesting to me to see how each team partners together. There is always a team who rationalizes why they don't need to share I thought the the football player really dropped the ball when he was given the answers to a challenge and could not focus enough to listen.
