I agree with a PP about the gay guy team. They never lied to anyone about their sexuality, they just didn't offer it up as free information. And everyone flirts, and my gay friends flirt with girls all the time. So unlike the poker players, I don't really think they did anything sneaky.
Sorry to detract....
1. The gay guys think it funny they are being flirted with and stated that they will use that to their advantage and thus deceive the team(s) that attempt that.
2. If a heterosexual flirted with the same gender--wouldn't that be considered "wrong".
3. If we are to be accepting of others sexuality--we must be accepting of the fact that when they portray themselves to be anything other than their sexuality--then they are lying about it.
Can't have it both ways. If the girls are considered liars for not conveying their true profession in the name of the game, the boys are considered liars by not deflecting the flirtations with the truth instead of playing off of them.
But what we feel is wrong is for them to profess to be Christians and then act they way they do. This definately gives wrong impressions to Christians and non-Christians alike. Just because we're Christians doesn't mean we are perfect but it's all in the image that people have of us and for them to yell and scream at each other they way they did.....
Human nature sometimes trumps proper Christian behavior and WWJD. I find it a bit...can't think of the word. But I'm beginning to think that people are expecting nuns on reality shows when a professed Christian is on the television.
I found their yelling humorous and thought it funny that they showed the Christian couple in their plight as they did with the beauty queen, but everyone else looked like they were out picking daisies or something.
I'm not sure how anyone can expect perfection and proper Christian behavior in all circumstances, especially those that are stressful.
The show edited to the stereotype (practically professed perfect people falling from grace) and it worked.
