THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

I liked the eliminated team. I also like the mother/son team. I felt so bad for him when she got dehydrated, you could tell he was really, really worried.

Ditto. Luke looked so scared. :guilty:

I didn't want to see the eliminated team go, but they made such a big mistake, it would have been hard to overcome it.

Help!!!! Who got eliminated??? My DVR cut off just as the stuntmen got to check in at 3rd place.

WARNING: DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHO GOT ELIMINATED:

OK -- the team that got eliminated is Mike and Mel, because they originally didn't go to the right location to find the gorilla, and they ended up way behind all the other teams.

Mike and Mel were eliminated. They just couldn't catch up after the bad cabbie.

Can't wait for the redheads to get eliminated. Feel sorry for Margie, but really want them eliminated, too. I know it's part of the game, but they didn't have to do that U-Turn thing. I can't forget that.

I'll miss Mel and Mike. They were a great team.

Can someone explain what the brothers did that got them the penalties? I had to take a phone call and just couldn't follow what happened. I think they hid the tire pumps somewhere?

I know some people don't like Tammy & Victor but they play a good game. And let's face it, if we all were under a microscope and under the stress of the race and constant travelling, not enough sleep, I'm sure we'd all say and do some things we regret.

I'd like to see Tammy & Victor, the stuntmen and the sisters in the top 3. I really wanted Mike & Mel in the top 3, but what can you do.

Thank you!! I usually catch the delays in advance but this one slipped by me! Though not my pick I did really like them.

Yes, the tire pumps were all out and they put them into a box so that they weren't as easy to notice. That got them a 30 minute penalty. Then, they hired a cab and followed the cab, which the clue apparently indicated that you couldn't do, so that got them another 30 minute penalty.

Had they not messed with the pumps and only hired the cab (something that's usually permitted and you could see that being a mistake a team could make by accident), they would have come in first place. But because they got that second 30-minute penalty, it gave other teams a chance to catch up so they ended up in third place.

OK, I'll add space for those who haven't seen it yet as well...

Was it the cabbie that told them the gorilla was at the beach? I missed who told them that.

But I thought they made a huge mistake to take one guy's word for it, and not double check with someone else, after they saw every other team going in the opposite direction. If it was me, I would have had the cabbie stop and get a couple more opinions. :confused3

Yes, the cabbie told them that -- but then when they got out of the cab and were asking, one guy did say where the gorilla was, and Mike said, "No" to him! Then they asked like another half-dozen people and another guy also said the same location where the gorilla actually was, so then they went there. But honestly, I can't feel sorry for them after that. And then they chose the task that was time consuming (did none of these people ever try to fill up a swimming pool, or even a five-gallon bucket in the sink? Even with a good sized hose, filling up 47 buckets is simply time consuming!) I think if they had chosen the other task, they might have stood a chance.

I liked Mel and Mike a lot, but I didn't think they'd make final four. Still on track for my favorite two teams. Go lawyers!

Sorry to see Mike & Mel go.

I'm kinda ticked at the brothers for what they did to the pumps (they "hid" them in plain sight.) Margie might have fared better if the tires on their rickshaw had been inflated. Still not liking the brothers or the redheads.

They could ask for directions but they basically had to get to the clue box on their own.
So, is that a new rule? No following a taxi to when you need to drive (or in this case, pedal) yourself? If so, I am 100% in favor of it!

I really liked the team that was delayed for dirty tricks. It makes me feel bad that they felt they needed to do that :(. I am glad that they suffered a penalty. Maybe they, and the other teams, will think twice next time.

Oh, yea! I already forgot about that. dd and I were yelling at the TV "he's right! listen to him!" :rotfl:

Right. Can't feel sorry for them after that.

I also was sorry to see the brothers play dirty. And the redheads were annoying me, too, they were so rude, calling the brothers tweedledum and tweedledee. :sad2:

I think there have been other times (other seasons) when you couldn't hire anybody to lead you to your destination. I did notice a couple of other teams tonight saying to their taxi drivers "No, we can't follow you...can you draw us a map and then just meet us there?"

I was thrilled that Mike and Mark were given a penalty for hiding the pumps. That was just vindictive!

I felt bad for Luke when Margie fainted...he looked so worried.

Oh, and what was with the redhead having to YELL at the shopkeeper - none of the other teams seemed to be having a problem with how he was opening the drawers. She just looked ridiculous!

Did I hear them right? The show won't be on next week?

ETA: I found this interesting, the elimination station is in Thailand this year. So, Mel and Mike won't have far to travel. Plus, when I was watching the first episode of elimination station, the first couple eliminated is in a van being driven from the airport to their villa. And they pass by a 7-Eleven. We don't even have one of those around here.

They did say "in two weeks". It's going to be a looooong 2 weeks! :sad1:

You know, I've been watching Elimination Station, but hadn't yet thought about Mel and Mike not having far to travel. Last week's ES made me feel bad for the hillbillies (sorry can't remember their names).

Yeah. I hope they will all loosen up soon and just have fun. Have you watched any of Phil's diary videos? They are pretty funny. I especially liked the "Boots of Russia". And the last episode where they are running up and down the stairs of the hotel. Phil almost did a header into the stair. It was pretty funny.

That was probably the best thing that anyone did this year, strategically speaking. They got the best team eliminated. I commend them for having the foresight to do that.
