Seems to me that that would have been a Rob and Amber trick seasons ago had they had the opportunity. I thought that it was pretty sneaky and smart on their part. I wonder if it's written somewhere in the rules that tricks like that are not allowed. Haven't they been done before without penalty?

I also thought of Rob and Amber (TTWSNBN ) when they did it! I was annoyed that the stuntmen put the pumps in the box but not "morally outraged" like I was with Romber. I think that my opinion of Romber would be different now that I have seen more and more dirty tricks on the race.

Yeah. I hope they will all loosen up soon and just have fun. Have you watched any of Phil's diary videos? They are pretty funny. I especially liked the "Boots of Russia". And the last episode where they are running up and down the stairs of the hotel. Phil almost did a header into the stair. It was pretty funny.

Ooo, I'll have to go watch those! Usually, I forget about watching the videos until it's almost time to get the kids from school, then I can't watch while they are here or they won't do their homework.

That was probably the best thing that anyone did this year, strategically speaking. They got the best team eliminated. I commend them for having the foresight to do that.

I totally agree!

The teams should have know where the Gorilla was before they entered their cabs. They should have asked people on the plane, people standing next to them in customs, etc. They ALL waited far to long.

I liked Mike and Mel's attitude at the shop picking the boxes. They had such fun with it, and they knew they were far behind. The shopkeeper was all smiles with them. It kind of made up for the horrid cheerleaders.

And I totally agree with this, as well! The redheads were just horrible to the shopkeeper!!! But Mike & Mel were almost having fun with it.

Did anyone else just last night realize that there is no medical staff or helpers traveling with Phil apparently? He was the one taking care of Margie. Gosh, he's just the sweetest.

Yup, Phil's a sweetie! I did hear a voice say they'd called an ambulance for Margie, once she was in the shade, but she said she was okay.

Not 100% sure what he said, but I do remember him trying to tell Mike/Mark that it would be too challenging for them. I remember saying to DH "well, that's just stupid to try and get them to take the trail - they're stuntmen! They wouldn't be afraid to do this!"

I didn't think it was anything against them personally - just that he was trying to convince everybody to go down the trail, hoping that the wind would calm down so he could glide.

7-Eleven is an international company with stores all over the world. I was shocked the first time I saw one in Japan, but now I have come to expect them in unexpected places .

It wasn't always that was. As a kid, I used to always look forward to visiting my cousins in Virginia, so that we could go to a 7-Eleven and get a slurpee. Then when they visited us, their big treat was Carvel and a Nathan's hot dog. Now everything is global.

I recall Mel saying something like running down the hill is chickening out, and the little person said (or started to say) something like, "Do you know who I am?" in an indignant tone b/c they are stuntment and wouldn't be scared of these tasks. It was obvious Mel was old-man bluffing and the little person revealed himself as a self-important snit.

I am ready for the red-headed girls to go next. The one can be so rude when she talks to people.

What I can't wait to see is if the others find out about the stuntmen hiding the pumps causing them to have to pull on flat tires. I wanna see Margie kick some butt!!!

Totally forgot about that. The AR threads were quite heated back then!!!....I thought Rob and Amber were some of the most entertaining racers ever and they were really good. I really enjoyed their season.

Sorry Mel and Mike left, but as others pointed out they should have realized something was up when ever team went the opposite direction. And then they ignored the guy who told them where the statue was.....those mistakes cost them the game.

I don't like them either. And I don't watch shows when they are on them. I didn't watch that season of Amazing Race. I don't watch evil Dr. Will either.

Yup, they were really good at the "game". I know someone mentioned it way back in this thread, but the eating challenge that Rob got everyone else to quit was pure genius. That was one of the best AR moments ever.

Its a shame that some people didn't watch that season just because of them. There were some really good/interesting teams that season and I did like the team that won as well.

I agree - that was one of the best seasons ever! And, the threads here were probably more animated during that season than just about any other. (robinb, I definitely remember your feelings about Romber back then!) But, that eating challenge truly was a classic moment on AR. Phil's face when they checked in after that challenge was great; he too was just so amazed that Rob had been able to convince others to do that.

That was a good season! But I have to admit, the best part of that season was when they did NOT come in first in the finale.
