The All-New What's For Dinner Thread!!(recipe index in OP)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Y'all are so funny. Last weekend we had Chang's lettuce wraps for the first time and I fell in love with them. I mentioned to Johnny & Kyle that I had seen a copykat recipe for it and wanted to try it for dinner one night, they both looked at me and said as long as we have two entrees to go with it. So needless to say next time I want the lettuce wraps, we're going to Changs.:lmao:

Ladies, I would pay money to see Buddy's face if I gave him lettuce wraps for dinner :lmao::lmao::lmao:. I don't think I could convince him that they were sandwiches :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Nancy,

I want to post your pork chop recipe that is on pg. 144, what do you want me to name it?

Oh oh....... I have no idea, I could not find the recipe:confused3

Dinner will be some kind of pasta dish.

Hi all,

Becky :worship: food porn looks amazing...I want to make that Sangria!

Updates:

-We have decided to change our studio from BWV to OKW. DH is going to change that today. I am really excited to try somewhere new.

-DN made first team All-Division, and second team All-State. :cool1:

WFD- I think I will be going to my DP, and I will leave DH a pork pie to eat between jobs. (store bought he loves meat pie but not my thing)

DN made first team All-Division, and second team All-State. :cool1:

Congrats!

WFD tonight....I have some leftovers to use up, so I am either going to make sandwiches, or else a big salad with the leftover chicken and steak sliced onto them.

I think I finally narrowed down our dates for Disney-October 25-November 3. The house we like is available and according to touringplans the parks should not be too crowded. Plus the food and wine festival will be happening.

Your parents are killing me :lmao::lmao:

Us too! Beck and I have already agreed on open revolt.

I have a very strict no peach rule. This includes any soap or candle product smelling of peaches.
 It must have been quite the trauma.

:cool1: Congratulations!

Caili has her last Monday afternoon skating session for the summer this afternoon. Beck gave me this terrific fresh mozzarella, so I think I am having a tomato, mozzarella, lettuce and pesto sandwich for dinner.

Today is the last day of school! We are going to have something summery to celebrate- probably hot dogs or hamburgers- a good way to start off summer vacation. Of course we should probably have ice cream sundaes to go with it. I walked out to the compost bin and relized I REALLY need to cut the grass, so I'm off. Have a good day everyone.

Hello All,

I survived another weeekend. (2 down,1 more to go) Friday and Saturday were CRAZY with baby shower stuff. A dear friend came over Frday afternoon/night and we got the favors done (candles and chocolates), food prep and some setting up. Got done about 9:45pm and by 10:15pm I was on my way to the vet with our 95 lb chcoclate lab. He found a porcipine I got home just after midnight as they were taking him into the operating room. It was the most horrible experinece. I had all I could do not to cry, they had him sedated and he was still crying and trying to get away.
Saturday morning I had to pick him up at 9am and finish with baby shower stuff. The shower was at 4:00pm and all went well, my DD and I stayed up until 11:30pm going through her stuff and washing all the new baby clothes.
The menu was Honey Mustard Chicken Kabobs,Teryiaki Beef Kabobs, Ceaser Pasta Salad, Broccoli Salad, Tortillini Salad, cake and Parfaits for dessert.

This week I need to prepare for a the graduation party this Saturday for 200 people. Burgers, Dogs, Salads etc.

Have a great day

Oh how sad, how is the poor baby???

Laurie-how is the poor baby today? I cannot imagine how difficult that whole vet trip must have been.

So the shower went well? I'm glad to hear that you are nearing the end of your wild weekends.

My DH called me all thrilled...I told you we decided to book OKW studio for the week right, wrong...change of plans again! But I am so excited, instead of trying a new resort...we are doing a split stay and trying two new ones.We will be starting our vacation in a AKV savannah view and ending at OKW.:woohoo: DS is going to go nuts over the animals at AKV and I know we are going to love OKW. I have my fingers crossed it doesn't change again.:rotfl: But I think DH is thrilled which means content.

Thank you all for the congrats for DN.

Here's a link to the recipe that I use, it really comes out great!

http://www.wwltv.com/frankdavis/gsrecipes/chickenfriedsteak.htm

I use any kind of chicken fry mix that I can find.

Thanks!

We'll overlap by a couple of days - I will be flying in on the 1st of Nov!

Good gracious!! How is the pup today? That has to be traumatic for all involved. So the baby shower was great? Your menu sounds delicious!

I am marinating chicken legs in the Famous Asian Marinade. We'll have blackeyed peas and spinach along with it.

Hey Y'all,

I'm not doing so well today. I slipped on the wet driveway Saturday rushing to get the mail before it started pouring. Fell on my butt & caught myself with my left arm, the one that hurts all the time anyway. So it was a pretty crappy weekend, doped up on meds. I'm a little better today, but still hurting.

Lauren, Have some fun for us! :goodvibes

Are y'all trying to convince me to buy into OKW?! ;) It sure sounds great!

LaurieG, How is your dog today? The poor thing, that must have been awful for you.

Becky, all of your food looked wonderful! :thumbsup2 Even if it was a bit too garlicky!

Becky, We are going to be there Oct 26th -Nov 1st! Lorie & Rick will be there thru the 26th I think. She & I had talked about meeting up,(on the 26th I think) to cruise the F&W booths, maybe you can join us!!

Kathy, If you start working out 5 days a week, you'll probably start losing very quickly! And the more you work out, the more you can eat!! ;)

Kath, Can you post or link that recipe for the lettuce wraps? I've been wanting to try that at home!

Jake is doing better today, Saturday (especially) and Sunday he was still in la la land, not himself, just laying around with those sad puppy dog eyes, dry crunchy food hurts his throat, can't bark, although he did get out 1/2 a horse sounding bark yesterday and then proceded to gag.
Baby shower was a success, I would post pictures if I knew how. Maybe I'll try and search the other boards and see if I can figure it out.
I feel like I am stuck in a Lucille Ball espisode with everythig that has been going on! Come on, you can't even make this stuff up!

WFD tonight is leftovers from the baby shower as last night I made sirloin pork in butcher block sauce, maple glazed carrots, and Teriayki rice.

After my experience, I think that is the way to go. Also, I'm not trying the banana spring rolls and Kenny and I both loved those on our last trip.

:lmao: I don't think so either. :lmao:

Congrats to your niece! And congrats on the savannah view room. It sounds like a wonderful trip.

Thats approximately the week we're thinking of for our trip next year. I've never gone quite so early in the fall, so I'll be curious to see what the weather/crowds are like for you.

Us too! Beck and I have already agreed on open revolt.

I'm glad your poor doggie is doing a bit better today. What a horrible experience that must have been for both of you.

Sheryl, I'm sorry that happened. I hope by tomorrow you'll be back to normal.

Tonight I'm playing it safe for dinner. Pork chops, gravy, rice and butter beans. Maybe if I'm feeling like a nice wife, I'll make some corn bread to go with it. Too soon to tell if I'm going to be feeling nice or not.

Sounds like a plan! :thumbsup2

After doing a lot of reading on what I need to avoid I'm going to start a low-carb diet. My problem area is my belly, that's where ALL of my weight is. I have no hips, no butt and skinny legs. Everything I've read and heard is that I need to eliminate carbs. Well I don't like to eliminate anything so I'm going to cut back...a LOT. I figure with the working out starting in a few weeks (I plan on hitting the gym at least 5 days a week) and doing my treadmill at home, I should start seeing a difference in about a month??????
You sound like me! although i do carry weight on the hips..it really is mostly in my torso...i am built like a piece of double bubble with the wrapper on..small up top round in the middle then small again...!!:rotfl2:

WFD: grilling haddock for me ( steak for Greg), asparagus and baked potato...simple, healthy EASY!

That sounds like one awesome vacation, so happy for y'all!:yay:

Doesn't that just break your heart.......:sad1:

:rotfl2:

Well I just did a mile on my treadmill....that's the closest thing to exercising I've done in FIVE years. I'm thinking if I do this daily my body won't go into shock when I hit the gym in a few weeks....:worried:

I'm really starting to worry about Glynis.
