Thanks to everyone here for being so kind and understanding, y'all are the best!:grouphug:

I'm doing OK. Kyle amazes me sometimes...he knocked on my door as he heard me crying, came in and sat on the bed with me. He told me it's OK to cry and to feel this way and I'm just being a normal "Mom" BUT then he reminded me of a friend of mine that lost her only child, a son, 12 years ago in a tragic car accident. He would have graduated this year with Kyle. That hit me so hard as I realized how my friend Peggy must be feeling this year. She moved to Europe about 5 years ago and I've lost touch with her.

I have a lot to be thankful for and I really do have a lot to smile about.:goodvibes

Congratulations Kyle!!! May all your dreams come true!

Ok that one got me  Kathy Kyle sounds like a great man. I hope Alex grows up to be a kind and understanding.

Lori I am not far from Wisconsin. Let me know. I heard the pants in Detroit are cut smaller than in other states. Also I firmly believe it is in the water it makes clothes shrink.

Funny story. When I was getting married John wanted to wear his Dress blues. The funny part is that the pants wouldn't come up past his knees.(The cleaners on base mixed up the Dress uniforms).:rotfl2: The look on his face was worth not winnng the mega million. It was a running joke that the apartment we lived in was so warm I swore that it made my clothes shrink.

We are having grilled hamburgers and a salad.

Silly question for y'all. Pre-washed lettuces, spinach, etc. Do y'all wash it again or not?

Emeril's always preaching to wash them & since the spinach e coli outbreak, I have been. Sometimes spinning them dry actually bruises delicate types. It's also a pain . I'm just wondering if I'm wasting my time?

Oh for dinner we're having leftover steak, sweet potatoes & yep.. salad. ;)

Janice, The look on John's face must have been really priceless!! :lmao:

Sheryl Yes you are supposed to wash it again.

I still see that look it bring's a smile when I think of that shocked look. I wish I had a picture. ;)

Thanks! BTW, I think they are selling the same brands of pants down here!

Not really. I sometimes wash the Romaine hearts, the uncut ones.

Having an interesting dinner. I made some orzo and added a can of tuna, a jar of tomatoes, some Kalamata olives and lime juice. We'll see how that turns out. Also having roasted beats and Green Giant baby brussel sprouts in butter sauce.

Oh Kat :grouphug:. You know that I can sympathize with you, I was a crier too. As much as you are crying for what he was ans all of those years he has spent with you, I think that you are also crying for all that he has accomplished and for the potential he has inside of him. Please take pictures and share this day with us, We are proud of your very special young man too. My heart breaks for your friend, I cannot even put myself in her place. :sad1:

Oh yes, I never told you that I cried when my oldest graduated too. Those tears were from relief! He was brilliant then, as he is today, but oh my God! I prayed that he would make it and that I would too. I told him the same thing his Meme told his father "This diploma is mine, just as much as it is yours! Kat, I swear I loved that boy but I was not sure that I would make it through his 4 years of HS. Or that he would either ;)

Sheryl- I don;t know how we all are not all poisoned in my home. :scared: I don't wash the prewashed greens , I figured they were washed. I read that the e-colli issues a lot of them you could not wash off, it was in the water that was used to irrigate and was actually in the leaves.

Dinner was pretty good tonight. We had roasted chicken, baked potatoes, green beans, butternut squash and a gravy. I made it with corn starch so that Marisa and I could have it. It is not as good a my gravy made with a nice roux but :confused3

Can I just say, brussel sprouts :scared: They are so nasty, chewy and grassy. I swear last time I had these they didn't taste like this.

My little concoction tastes pretty good. I made enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow.

Tuna Orzo

2/3 orzo, uncooked
1 6 oz can tuna
1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
10 Kalamata olives, sliced
Lime juice
Salt and pepper

Cook the orzo, drain. Add the tuna, tomatoes, olives and lime juice, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for about 10 minutes. Serve.

Of course what do I pull out of there but that darn recorder & Alexis practically leapt of off the couch to grab it! Luckily it has again disappeared!;)

When Liam's recorder disappears, believe me, it will not be found again. I am not even going to save it for when Caili is in third grade...just in case it gets played in the next three years.

Like Rogue, I had a relative send Liam a recorder when he was three. This year, when my mom heard Liam needed a recorder, she asked, "Don't you still have the recorder Aunt Helene sent him?" I said, "Recorder? What recorder??" :confused3 ;)

Kyle is an amazing young man and you are a wonderful mom. I hope you enjoyed the graduation.

This is perfect, so I hope Lauren doesn't mind me repeating it.

Silly question for y'all. Pre-washed lettuces, spinach, etc. Do y'all wash it again or not?

Sheryl, I used to wash them again, but since I eat a lot of salad at my parents' house and no one there washes the greens again, I gave up. Like Nancy said, the washing doesn't get rid of the e.coli...only cooking will do that. I did once find a dead bug in my triple washed lettuce. It was a really clean bug though.

Can I just say, brussel sprouts :scared: They are so nasty, chewy and grassy. I swear last time I had these they didn't taste like this.

Maybe the ones you got were old. I read somewhere that sometimes the brussel sprouts in the stores are quite old and they taste much different. I like brussel sprouts.

I am having a glass of red wine trying to thaw out from the ballfield...and I thought the skating rink was cold! I was wearing two coats at Liam's game. They won again, 12-1.

I've resorted to bribery in an effort to improve Liam's hitting. I told him he could have a sundae if he got a hit. He walked twice on eight pitches. He was really mad that he never even saw a strike. That's good. At least he is up there looking for a hit now, rather than a walk. The offer still stands for next game.

Laura, A glass of wine sounds good...enjoy it!

I don't mind you "borrowing" my message for Kyle...all the Aunties think alike! :thumbsup2

Congrats Liam!

Maybe I should start bribing Andrew with his batting. Some days he does OK and others not. I guess thats the game though. He has been improving on his fielding (he has been playing 2nd and outfield). They are in 5th place out of about 10 - 12 teams.

I have to mention...I have started reading the first Harry Potter book and I am loving it!!! I thought that I would read it first, then Andrew then we can watch the movies together. This is going to be our summer thing. He struggles a little with reading and writing so I am trying to stay on top of it.

Hope everyone is enjoying the night!
