The All-New What's For Dinner Thread!!(recipe index in OP)

Good Luck Kyle!!!

Kathy, Have a great trip if I don't get to tell you again. Are the games going to be on the radio again?

I'll be around this afternoon & evening. I'm not sure about internet radio but I heard they are going to be on ESPN radio, not sure what that is???? I'll post something if I find out more. I'm taking my laptop with me so I'll be able to keep in touch:goodvibes

Cool, I'll check into the ESPN radio thing and will look for your updates. :) :)

Sheryl - Your dinner looked great!

Only have time to throw a couple of burgers on the grill for Johnny & I tonight. Kyle leaves for Shreveport with the team this afternoon!

Good luck to Kyle and to the team. I hope they have safe travels!

We had spaghetti last night. My SIL is always good about making sauce with no meat for me to help cut my WW points. :) I've got a couple of more pounds to lose to get to the weight I was maintaining after I lost a lot of weight, but I want to go at least five pounds lower. I really have to make time to exercise once my allergy/sinus problems get better.

Have a good day everyone!

Okay, I am not trying to take Beck's place, but I did take some food photos this evening.

Your dinner looks awesome! I could almost taste the salmon.

Thank you. He did remember the Chinese, but I never made it to the store to get the cheesecake. :guilty: I'll have to get it tomorrow. I totally wouldn't mind eating just cheesecake for dinner. ;)

I'm glad you got the Chinese. It doesn't matter that the cheescake was late, you get to celebrate twice :thumbsup2

I'm having "issues" with Alexis lately, noodles & shrimp or nothing. I had chicken scalloppini pasta leftover today, she asked for "I want the noodles only, no onions or green stuff please! & oh I want that with that with extra cheese." I must look like a short order cook!

I am :lmao: over Alexis. Kady has been doing the same thing, today she loves something, tomorrow she has decided that she won't eat it again :headache: Dinner is one interesting meal as Marisa has put her foot down on most of the additional meal items. She would live on mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, or of course.....chicken nuggets and fries! Her Pa spends the rest of the night positive his "little bandit" is going to starve away to nothing and tries to sneak her a little snack to fill her belly popcorn::. I'll tell you, these little Princesses are good

Kyle leaves for Shreveport with the team this afternoon!

GOOD LUCK KYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DInner is easy tonight. I want to make a taco salad type of meal. Erica has been craving tacos, Buddy will most likely be in late, he wants to moce a load of mulch after work for his cousin. He'll find a way to turn his into a sandwich :confused3

Dinner last night was good, Chicken Marsala, Baked Ziti, salad and rolls. And they had differant cookies for dessert.

It was a nice little awards ceremony and it was pretty funny when my boss had to get up and read the nomination letter she sent in for one of our staff. The lady presenting the award was having a hard time reading it, then when she got up there she couldn't read her own handwriting. :rotfl:

Dinner tonight is an I don't know, I forgot to take something out this morning.

Laura, You're dinner looks delish! I'm just wondering which one of your kiddo's consistenly requests the mac & cheese:laughing: Are the kids eating the salmon? I'm having "issues" with Alexis lately, noodles & shrimp or nothing. I had chicken scalloppini pasta leftover today, she asked for "I want the noodles only, no onions or green stuff please! & oh I want that with that with extra cheese." I must look like a short order cook!

 My kids seem to think I am too. Liam and Caili both eat the salmon, but last night, Liam ate it so he could have a second helping of the mac and cheese (Liam is the one who really likes the mac and cheese. Caili will eat it, but she would rather have the pasta with just olive oil or butter) and Caili ate it so she could have another piece of cornbread.

Kyle leaves for Shreveport with the team this afternoon!

Good luck to Kyle and the team!!

Kady has been doing the same thing, today she loves something, tomorrow she has decided that she won't eat it again :headache:

Caili can be like that too. Liam will eat the same thing over and over again (he has had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day for lunch since he was three and still doesn't want anything different...) but Caili gets bored with the same foods and then I have to figure out something new that she will eat.

Tonight is going to be dinner on the road. Caili has skating and then Liam has a baseball game. The way these minor league games generally play, we might be home by 9. :headache:

Hi all!!!! I'm back...got another keeper...lol

Beef Rouladen

Hi! This reminds me of my Mom...she made this all the time growing up. I may have to make this soon...not sure if the family will like it but too bad! I think my Mom spread the meat with some mustard too.

Wow, the guy is almost done putting the first coat of mortar on the fireplace!!! Should be done in a few days...:cool1: We're spending more $ than we thought but saving my sanity...I have been a witch lately...

Kathy, y'all have a safe trip & have fun!

Pa sure is sneaky! You better keep a close eye on him or he'll have Kady eating only sandwiches!

You really do need to be a short order cook! Your kids are lucky to have such a good Mom! I think with that schedule and trying to keep 2 kids with different tastes,:scared: most of us would be hitting the nearest drive-thru!

Laura, You said you grilled the salmon? In doors on a grill pan or an outdoor grill? The only way I've been able to grill (outdoor gas) fish is on a plank. And even with the plank the glazing drips down & it really flames up.

Lauren, Hang in there! Sounds like your getting closer to having your house back.

Tonight will be leftover pork, although thanks to Laura, I'm craving salmon!

We're spending more $ than we thought but saving my sanity...I have been a witch lately...

If it keeps you sane then consider it money well spent! My DH has offered to help his cousin at her house and that is fine. We both agree at our house we need to pay someone ;).

It was a nice little awards ceremony and it was pretty funny when my boss had to get up and read the nomination letter she sent in for one of our staff. The lady presenting the award was having a hard time reading it, then when she got up there she couldn't read her own handwriting. :rotfl:

 My kids seem to think I am too.

You are such a good Mom! And you negotiate too :thumbsup2, that goes on here with Kady. Marisa will allow more potatoes if she eats her meat, then her veg. The kid is more skilled than her Mom though. ;)
Pa sure is sneaky! You better keep a close eye on him or he'll have Kady eating only sandwiches!

Not yet......bread is on her list of foods she will not consume, and it grows daily :rotfl:

I have no idea what's for dinner, probably chicken, we always have chicken. I'm sick of chicken. Yesterday I found really good shaved beef, I've never seen it at our store before, so we had great steak and cheese subs with my favorite, caramalized onions.
I think tonight might become a breakfast for dinner night. Now I need to choose- pancakes or waffles? Either will be better than chicken!

Becky (liamsaunt) posted a really easy shrimp recipe on the last thread.

My mom makes yeast rolls every Christmas. I think it is just the Betty Crocker recipe, but I will ask and post it later.

Is it the recipe I have for her called "Simple Grilled Shrimp" - the one with breadcrumbs? It looked really good in her pics - and seems easy. This will definately be one of my shrimp recipes! :thumbsup2

I'll look on Betty Crocker's website for some yeast rolls. I may just settle and buy the Sister Schuberts Yeast Dinner Rolls. I love those - and it will be one less thing for me to make.

When I get my bread machine working though - its on with me and some yeast recipes!! :goodvibes

That's it......you will love it!!!!!:worship:
Hey, I double the garlic.....:lmao:

This will definately be my shrimp's second "way". When I make this - I will double the garlic too. I Love garlic - I just hope the rest of my guests do :rolleyes1

My shrimp's third way is going to be a simple sprinkle with Old bay.
So thanks to you guys - I got my shrimp 3 ways for my big dinner this weekend.

Can I get another opinion from you professionals?
I'm feeding 12 adults. Do you think I will have enough food for everyone if I do a 6 lb beef tri tip or sirloin roast and a 8 - 10 lb chicken?
I'm not used to feeding this many people.

I've ordered my cake from publix - take a look:

http://www.publix.com/food/catalog/ProductDetail.do?id=10057

I didn't cook last night - I threw together a chicken and veggie soup for me from the frozen vegetables I had.
Probably won't cook tonight either - just have a lean cuizine pizza or a lean pocket.

Hope everyone is having a good day!
Toodles :hippie:

Lauren -- Your sanity is well worth whatever you are spending.

Your kids are lucky to have such a good Mom! I think with that schedule and trying to keep 2 kids with different tastes,:scared: most of us would be hitting the nearest drive-thru!

Thanks! There are certainly days I would like to hit the drive-thru, but the kids won't eat it. They had McDonald's once and thought it was gross. I guess that isn't a bad thing.

I did grill the salmon outdoors. To minimize flare-ups as much as possible, I only put a little of the glaze/sauce/marinade on the fish while it is cooking, and I keep the rest heated indoors and add it once the fish is off the grill. I put a little too much on last night, so the skin burnt and stuck to the grill, but the rest of the fish was fine.

You are such a good Mom!

Not yet......bread is on her list of foods she will not consume, and it grows daily :rotfl:

Thanks, Nancy! Kady doesn't eat bread? :confused3 When Greg was home, he was convinced that bread makes up 80 percent of the kids' diets!

The cake looks wonderful now what is your other question? The cake captured all my attention.

For some reason being on WW I am getting sick of chicken too. Before I started I ate mainly chicken then too but for some reason I am just sick of it.

I never know what to order for our staff meetings, I always worry that I'll have too much or not enough. I do know that at a meeting we had last month we ordered 10 lbs of ribs for 35 people and had a lot left over. We also had 7 whole chickens that were cut up and had a leg section left.

Pretty cake.

I am not a good person to ask about food quantity, either. I always over buy and have hoards leftover. I have this fear we won't have enough.. I do that for work and home.

Tonight is something out - not sure what. My evening is odd; it's church night and I need to be there but one of my kid's has a dance recital and he really wants me to come, and his mom said I'm the only one he invited. SO. I lined up people to cover church and am going to that instead so I don't know when I'll be done. I'm planning on slipping out after he performs and heading back to church if there is time... who knows.

WOW, You are really GOOD!! They don't like McDonald's?!!!! Laura, Reach around & pat yourself on your back!!!! :thumbsup2 :worship: You are really doing a great job!

I also have to give you big kudos on your grilling skill! Not having it flame up too much & getting fish off the grill in one piece! You are the GrillMaster!!:thumbsup2
