The All-New What's For Dinner Thread!!(recipe index in OP)

Good luck to Liam!!!:cheer2: I can't imagine how sad it must be for y'all when Greg has to leave, I'll be thinking of you all. Please tell him how much we appreciate what he does for us all.

So to Laura, Greg, Liam, Caili & All Military families, I just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, from the bottom of my clueless heart!!! We owe so much to so many, who sacrifice for our country.

caliandliam-please thank your husband, and best wishes to the kids.

This two weeks flew by! I hope that Greg gets to see Liam at his game today. Please tell your brave husband that he is in my prayers daily and thank him once again for his sacrifice for us. I don't have to words to say how grateful I and my family are for all of you who give so much over and over :grouphug::grouphug:

Laura, Please send luck and best wishes to Liam and Caili! Also, a big hug and thanks to Greg. One for you too! ;)

Laura I hope you and your family have a nice evening. Tell Greg thanks and God's speed to return safely. He has so many angels watching out for him.

Laura-:grouphug: thinking of your brave DH and your family!:grouphug:

Greg is heading back tomorrow, so I send a HUGE thank you to him, and to you Laura and the kids for the sacrifice that all of you make for our country. I pray for his safe return home again.

Thank you all so much! I tried not to miss anyone this time, but no promises...:upsidedow

WE WON!!!!!! WE'RE GOING TO STATE !!!!!!!

Kyle pitched an awesome game. The coach pulled him out in the last inning and he got a standing ovation, I think that was done on purpose. I was one proud Mama.:goodvibes Thanks for all the good thoughts from all my buddies!;)
:cheer2: :cheer2: YAY Kyle!! Congratulations!

Oh and I have the pictures of the last cake I did too!
:thumbsup2 Awesome job.

Greg left very early this morning, and the kids and I are having a lazy start to our day. We are all still in pajamas. We are resting in advance of our busy afternoon. Liam has another baseball game this afternoon (the coach said he is going to pitch  ) and Caili has her skating show this evening. I missed Liam's game, but I heard he had a couple of nice plays in the field, he led off in the batting order (for some reason the coach thinks Liam is speedy :confused3 ) and he had an RBI because he was hit by a pitch when the bases were loaded. He struck out twice, but last night was the first time he faced kid pitching, so we all anticipated that.

Anyway, dinner is going to be another grab and go...not sure what yet. I made a big breakfast, so I'm not hungry enough to think about another meal. Have a great day everyone!

Stephanie - Your cake is beautiful!!!!

then this week we had an unexpected child abuse case come up which rips me and everyone involved up inside.
I have also been very involved in the organization of the foods for our dear friend Becky's celebration of life service. We are expecting between 100-300 people. Kris has talked often with her husband David and he is doing pretty good. We are so proud of him.

I can't imagine how hard it must be to deal with child abuse , you are one very special woman. When is the celebration of life service?

Did anyone watch last nights Disney show on the travel channel? Why is it anything disney I cry :confused3
I DVR'd it, I'm sure I'll be:sad1: too!

Liam has another baseball game this afternoon (the coach said he is going to pitch  ) and Caili has her skating show this evening.

Good luck to both of them! Welcome to the PMS club (Pitcher's Mom Syndrome)!!!!;)

Thanks to all for the kudos to Kyle. The vets on this thread know that this will be our third trip in as many years to the state finals and we've come home with no better than second place. We are determined to win it all this year!!!!

Lauren - Thanks so much for listening to the game on the internet radio. I know it probably took a while before you realized the were talking about Kyle, they butcher our last name all the time.:rotfl:

Today we'll be planning our trip to Shreveport and getting ready for Prom tonight. Johnny is ordering us some boiled crawfish for dinner tonigt!:goodvibes

Now I read your post before and saw this word and kept on going. Just read it again and thought, Who's Welp? :rotfl:

I'm so impressed. :thumbsup2

It is so grey here. Burn the end of our firewood and lounge around the house all day...sounds like heaven right about now.

Ann

It's cold enough for a fire! That's nuts.

It's a gorgeous spring day here - the house is open and it's 67 in here right now. Sunroof weather - I love it!

Greg left very early this morning

I don't know how y'all do it

We're off to see Made of Honor. McDreamy, mmmmmmmmmmmm!

Tell me how that is - I love him!!

Tonight I am going to a nice dinner at the Botanical Gardens. The youth minister rents out the restaurant there for the seniors and their families each spring and we (staff) try to go. DH is out of town so I'm going alone.

I hit Walmart last night at 11pm and came home with more decor - put it all out and have a few more things I'm looking for. I think I'll stop by Ross and Marshalls on the way to dinner tonight. If DH comes home and disses it, I'm gonna scream. I AM leaving tags on everything for now though since I do value his opinion on some of it... ;)

I always find what I want but at a price I don't want to pay... so I'm hitting up discount stores. Did you know Walmart has some great lamps and vase fillers? For CHEAP!

Awww thanks Kat, I guess I deal with it because someone has to be their voice, it takes a lot out of us at times but the knowledge of finding safe havens for these kids is what makes it easier to sleep at night.

Becky's celebration is on May 10th. Her husband David, has been putting together a picture/music video for it. I am sure this will be heartbreaking....she had requested no black and no crying, the no black is easy to do, but the tears well that is a tough one!

I have a feeling that this year you will win...this IS Kyle's year after all!!!

This Aunt here is just dying to see prom photos from tonight!!!!! Tell him I said to have a wonderful time!!!

Aimee--let us know what hubby thinks of the new decor!!

Laura--Glad you had a nice morning with Greg!:goodvibes

Mrs. Kreamer--LOVED the cake!!

Lauren--Hope you are enjoying your alone time this afternoon!

Supper tonight is going to be a sudo beef stew..it is chilly damp and cloudy here today so this will work well. I just didn't start it soon enough to be the real deal, but this will work and still be comforting!

Hope everyone is having a nice afternoon!

I've heard it's spring in some parts of the country, but it sure isn't here. It sounds like a lot of us are have a chilly, grey New England spring day. I could really go for a big bowl of chili for dinner, but since I don't have anything to make it we'll have to settle for chicken. I think we'll have "refridgerator chicken." I brown some chicken, onions, garlic and whatever else looks good in the fridge. I usually simmer it in broth because I have a tendency to overcook chicken. We're off to the library to pick up some movies for movie and popcorn night.

I thought it was just me!!!!! I didn't watch last nights show but when we go to Disney, Tom and Andrew get sick of me saying that is where I lived when I did the CP, that is where I worked, that is where blah, blah, blah...and I also start getting teary eyed...

Its just such a magical and happy place that I guess we get overwhelmed with joy, right?

Those Travel Channel Disney shows have been making me cry, too!

Yesterday morning dh booked us a quick trip for next week!

I'm using my slow cooker for potato and cauliflower vindloo...wish me luck (if it works I'll post the recipie).

You lucky lady!!!!!:cool1:

Laura, Thinking of all of you today.

Kathy- This year is the year that Kyle's team goes all the way! I can feel it!

PICTURES! I WANT PICTURES! I love Proms and I want to see your handsome son and his "friend".

Wendie-How anyone can hurt a precious child is beyond me., Thank God for people like you who figure out what to do next and thank God for those people who report it.

Planning a celebration for Becky is a wonderful way to pay her a tribute and celebrate all that she accomplished. :grouphug:

Lucas- I am officially jealous of you! I ave been watching the Disney specials and I am seriously in Disney withdrawal. My sister asked how we can go to the same place. She'll see in September when she hits DL.

Rogue- we had the fireplace going three times this week. I would not mind if DH started it tonight, we have the heat on but it does not cut that raw feeling.

Mrs Kreamer- love that cake!

Aimee- have a nice meal tonight.

I forgot to post last nights dinner. Marisa, Kady, Erica and I joined my sister for Chinese. Buddy had whatever he could find it the fridge. It was pretty low on sandwich fillings and he was reduced to eggs. Oh well.

Tonight Marisa and Jeff are taking Kady to Olive Garden (her pick) and a Movie (Nim's Island) to celebrate her 100. Buddy will have tnuna fish sandwiches and I am having a vegetable barley soup that I made this morning.

Marisa took me to a new produce store today and stocked up on fresh fruit and veggies. I always had plenty of food on hand but we seem to fly through so much more now that we are all on WW so I needed to find some good prices.

Lauren - Thanks so much for listening to the game on the internet radio. I know it probably took a while before you realized the were talking about Kyle, they butcher our last name all the time.:rotfl:

No need to thank me...it was fun! DISing and listening to Kyle's game! :woohoo: It look me a few minutes to figure out that they were talking about Kyle...and all along I thought I was the one pronouncing your name wrong...:rolleyes1

We want pics Mom!!! Can't wait to see Kyle all dudded up!

 Yes, the no crying is going to be hard. It sounds like its going to be a beautiful celebration. She would be proud of all of you.

I am having a good day. I wound up taking a ride to Trader Joes. I have never been there before. It was about 40 minutes away but I loved it!!!

I bought alot of neat stuff and even some beer and wine...the wine that they nick named 2 Buch Chuck...although its not $2 anymore, its $2.99. AND....in honor of our nephew Kyle and his team the Shaw Eagles, I will toast a glass to him...the real name of the wine is Charles Shaw...

Lucky girl! We'll want a report when you come home! :thumbsup2

I'm using my slow cooker for potato and cauliflower vindloo...wish me luck (if it works I'll post the recipie).

Good Luck!

It's a plot line that's been done before, but Dempsey rocks it. Man, I swear I could put gravy on him and serve him up, hot of course.0

:love::love::love:

He is a hotie thats for sure!

************
I am sitting here now, watching the Kentucky Derby, drinking a Trader Joes Vienna Style Lager and waiting to go to A's game.

Tom is on his way home so he'll be home when I get home from the game. There goes my peace and quiet! ;) :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a great night!

Lauren- somehow I missed that you heard about Kyle on the internet radio. I don't even know how to do that. I have a nice glass of Pinot Noir, have been saving points all week so that I could have some. Anyway my glass is raised for Kyle as well, it is not everyday that an Auntie gets to salute such a nice talented and gracious young man! Oh, and one more for my friend Kathy and her DH Johnny. It takes dedicated parent to raise a good kid!

John Besh was on an ad tonight for N.O. tonight. I told Buddy that was on my list of places I need to see and he said it was because of all of my friends I made on the "television" that I talk to. :lmao::lmao: I told him that I have wanted to visit for a long time but those "television: friends were the frosting on my cake.

Nancy & Lauren - Thanks for the toasts!!!! I'm waiting on Kyle to get back from picking up "his friend" and we'll be taking pics and posting tonight!!!!:thumbsup2

Nancy, You're right, the proud parents need a toast too! Here's to you, Kat and Johnny! :drinking1

:rotfl: "television" friends!

I don't know why I am so excited but I cannot wait! I am a cheap date and am on healthy glass #2 so I am going to be more sappy than usual.

This Auntie is waiting not so patiently. I'm toasting with coffee since I am so beat standing and sampling for 5 hours I would fall fast asleep with anything stronger.

BTW it turned out to be a cloudy drizzley day so we are having leftovers. Brats will be tomorrow.

Here ya go:

How good they both look. I like the color of her dress. They look very cute together. I hope they have a great time.

I second what Janice said. They are so cute! I loved sending my kids off to the Prom so I am glad you shared Kyle's here with us.
