You jinxed me ...let me just say I wanted blonde highlights to my dark brown hair and ended up with your requested redish highlights.

It is not bad, but not what I had in my mind so now I am ticked off that I spent a $100 on it. My DH loves my natural dark brown hair, but I was a highlighted blonde when we met. I needed a change, but I am so disappointed and dont want to tell DH that...he thinks color is what I requested. I feel like I wasted $$$ and wont be doing it again anytime soon.

Ann, I know the feeling! I guess I got your blonde highlights last week! I wanted subtle gold & when she took out the foils it was platinum blonde! I didn't walk out like that though, she finally got it right but I was there for 5 hours!

Not coloring like Gretchen is not an option for me, I'm way too afraid to see how much is now grey!

Ann -- I am convinced that all colorists think brunettes want to be blondes or redheads. The last time I had my hair colored, it was horrible...all I want is my natural color!

Hi Guys! I am a little sad now...we are leaving tomorrow and A still has paralysis on his right side. That makes me so so sad. This could last for a while; there is no real way of knowing when it will go away. We have an appt with his pediatrician on Monday afternoon after my biopsies... I just spoke to my dr and she is prescribing something to calm me.

I'm glad he is not in pain but still, this is tough for him. And you. Saying a prayer for you both.

I feel like I wasted $$$ and wont be doing it again anytime soon.

I've been there and it's not fun. I love the girl who does my hair now, but I have had some major mishaps before her. Now I tell her to do what she wants, and she does. I am not able to go gray

Guess what I get to do tomorrow?!

Drive a race car!!

That's right, someone thought it'd be a great idea to put ME the speedracer behind the wheel of a real racecar. There is a Richard Petty Racing thing at the track near us (like the one at Disney). One of DH's funders at his last job works for them and took a liking to DH so he scheduled a FREE drive for him and a guest (ME!). Seeing that it's $400 a person, we would have never in a million years done this ourselves.

We have to head there in the morning for racing school before they set us loose on the track for 8 laps. I even get to wear a driving suit!

All that to say, I won't be checking in until I get home from my little adventure so pray for any spectators on the track tomorrow!

When we were on our honeymoon in Aruba there was a lot of "fun" athletic things to do at our resort. Buddy wanted to go scuba diving, he is certified. He did not bring the certificate and it was probably as old as dirt anyway. So.... we would have had to pay $75 for a lesson before we ....yes I said we..... could go. I said pay it and go see your airplane under the water. He said NO......I already know how, I am not giving them $75. You go. Are you freaking kidding me?????????You want me to go under the water when I hyperventilate snorkeling????And you want me to go alone??????Because you are too cheap to spend money on you but you will spend it on me to do something I hate??????


We did not go but he stopped trying to get me to do all those things never said "I DO" to . No parasailing, no windsurfing and no snorkeling over my head where currents may pull me into a rusty old battleship that I did not want to see in the first place.

I can't believe how similar our two guys are! When Bob was well, he was into dirt-bikes, so he went out & bought me one! Running through ankle deep mud in the woods on motorcyclye is not one of my fonder memories! Now that there are things he can't do, but even if he could he probably wouldn't spend the money on himself to do them. Like going to the Indy 500, he had it all set up & changed his mind, because of the cost!

But he thinks nothing of trying to convince me that I want to parasail, drive a racecar, he's even tried to convince me to parachute from a perfectly good airplane!!!

It must be a guy thing! Buddy's friends have tried to get him to head out hunting or fishing, no way. "Costs money" yet he will slip my nieces money whenever he can get them to accept it, pay for Kady to get her fingers and tootsies done, insist that I need new clothes, and try to feed everyone.

Dinner tonight will be a Shepard's pie. Kady is supposed to go to a pizza party at the gym but if enough kids do not sign up it will be canceled. Marisa is going to make her pizza anyway and just have it here for her...us girls, pizza and movies. Doesn't get better than that unless it is at the gym.

Dinner tonight is grilled citrus chicken. I have the chicken marinading now, and DH will grill it tonight. Should be good. We'll have a green salad and biscuits to go with it. Yum!!!

Super quick check in from me...

Dad is gone but will be back from Aug 30-Oct 11th. He calls me at least 5 times a day, lol.
We have a busy weekend ahead of of with Ross. Tomorrow we have his karate tournament and then Sunday we will haul him 5 hrs up north to the end of Maine for science and math camp.
Kris will take nights off that week he is gone so we can go out for dinner with friends etc. I will miss my baby but will enjoy the time alone with Kris guilt free.

Yesterday we had to go have a growth removed from Ross chest, the Dr doesn't think it is cancereous, but he has 6 stitches and it was very deep to remove so it is tender. Ross can't fight at the tournament tomorrow so he is bummed as that is what he loves the most. The stitches will disolve so that is something we don't have to worry about while he is at camp. He can swim while it is healing though, so that made him happy.

Glynis--glad to see you are back!! I can't wait to hear all about your trip and see the pics!!

Lindsay--Hugs to you my friend, others aren't judging you for what your father has done, at most they are sorry you are dealing with these issues and are proud of how well you are holding your head high. I agree that you should talk to him and let him know that you are aware of his actions.

Sheryl--I have to agree with the others that have said that Bob looks familiar, I always think that as well.

Lauren--I am so sorry to hear about A!! Did they give him an eye patch to wear? That is important as debris can get into that eye that can't close all the way. We had two children at school last year come down with this, and one little girl had her patch all bedazzled up to make her feel better.
I send hugs and prayers to you, as a mom it is so hard to watch our babies have something wrong.

Aimee--Cant wait to hear all about your "drive"!! Kris wants to do this and it never seems to happen when we go. Someday I will get it planned for him!

Supper tonight will be something that is as far as I have got with it....I need to take something out that Ross will love as this is his last meal at home. Tomorrow we will eat on the way back from the tournament.
I made him his fav steak tips last night.

Dinner tonight is supposed to be fish and chips per Caili's request. She has her District Championship competition tomorrow, so she gets to pick tonight's meal. However, it is storming here now, so I am not sure we will be getting to the store. I may have to give her a raincheck (literally) for the fish and chips.

We have to leave here around 6 am tomorrow morning, and we won't be back until Sunday evening, so have a great weekend everyone!

Hey Y'all,

The MRI went okay, but an "open" MRI is anything but open! They put your head in this holder that goes over your head, then pull the machine on top. It's noisy & you have to stay in the same position about 25 minutes. I'm only mildly claustrophobic, but that was hard.

Gotta go wash, iron & pack, off to see the Astros & the Sox, tomorrow!. I never know what to wear to a baseball game in a suite! Some people are dressed up & others are dressed like, well like they are going to a baseball game!

Wendie, Really sorry for Ross! 6 stiches is a lot, that must hurt, poor kid! But at least he can swim & still go to camp. Hope he feels better soon.

Glynis I just finished the watermelon pie. It tasted pretty good. Of course the part that stuck to the bowl.

Truffle pie and peanut butter pie done too. And I haven't melted it is so humid here.
