OK, so I have not kept up with the thread and now I am a bit lost! I will try my best to catch up...:) Sorry if I miss anything...

Kathy,

I wish you both the best...I hope you are doing OK today after a rough day yesterday. Any news on the house or is it in review?

Becky, Sorry you did not get to eat at the game...What a story...Gretchen was right, it could be a Seinfeld episode.

Laura, Congrats to Liam for pitching well!

Gretchen and Sheryl, Hope you're feeling better.

Speaking of camp, when I was younger I went to equestrian camp...can you imagine what we were like after being in barns and on horseback all day??? :scared1: No wonder my Mom kept my stuff in the garage till it was washed!

Ann, Have a great time today!

**************

We did not go out last night. We were both too tired. So we got some Chinese and started watching the movie Cloverfield and both fell asleep.

We are planning to go out tonight and then catch a movie...The Happening with Mark Walhberg.

Have a great day all!

I am working today. I'm not sure WFD. Maybe I'll check out the veggies a grilled pizza sounds good right about now. Maybe something Asian I have snap peas to use up.

Does anyone have a good Peanut sauce recipe?

Alex was at a Who done it at our library last night. I think he is getting into mysteries:thumbsup2. He had a lot of fun solving the clues.

Kathy I don't know what to say about your stepson.  I hope Johnny isn't taking this too hard. I'm sure he gave him all the "tools" he could. It is up to the kids to pick them up and use them.

I remember my brothers days at camp and coming home with a lot of unused clean clothes and wet clothes all mixed in. :rolleyes1 I remember my mom throwing even the suitcase away.

Lauren Thanks for being our WFD search engine;)

I am almost beyond excited. The people at work are looking forward to me being on vacation. I spent yesterday organizing my desk to keep everything in check for when I'm not there. I don't want to come back to a lot of work. :faint:

How about you. I still bummed that we will miss one another.

No need to thank me...:goodvibes

I am really excited too...There is so much that needs to get done here...still renovating, organizing, but I told Tom about a week ago that it can wait. Why be stressed before vacation, right?

I am bummed too that we are going to miss one another. If only airfare wasn't too expensive, we'd be staying longer. I have DVC points left over too...gotta figure out what we are doing with them.

Liam pitched great tonight. I was so proud of him. The team lost, but Liam pitched three innings, and he only gave up three walks. Five runs scored while he was in, but four were in the third inning, and he was tiring. He struck out the first batter he faced. That was cool.

Great job Liam! You should be proud Mom!!!!

Thanks Lauren. He's with Kyle today in Baton Rouge, they have a double header. I stayed home, kinda feel a migraine coming. We're going to PF Changs tonight for his birthday and I'm happy he's going to be enjoying his day with Kyle.

The crazy waiter has already become a classic. We've been walking around saying "speak NOW, or FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE!" ever since it happened. Feel free to laugh, even at the time we thought it was funny!

So, here are some photos from last night. John's burger cooked the way he likes it, aka RARE:

I have not figured out tonight's dinner yet. I am a little tired today because we went to a concert last night--REM. We had awesome seats (John's nickname is the ticket god), but I think I am getting too old for rock shows. :rotfl:

Happy Birthday, Johnny!

Thanks for all the congrats for Liam. I am still so proud of him. This season has been a little tough for him because he is kind of low on the totem pole, being the youngest, so he hasn't been a major team contributor most of the time. Last night, his teammates were all so supportive, and the coaches and parents all came up and told him what a great job he did, so he felt good. He is playing summer league, and that will just be with nine year-olds, so hopefully, he will get a chance to play more positions and improve his hitting. Some of the ten year-olds are really tough pitchers.

All I have to make today is some guacamole. We are having a neighborhood Welcome Summer party this afternoon.

Happy weekend everyone!

The young ones have a hard time that first year. At least he is playing and that says a lot. Debbie did not play much that first year and her Mom was confused. The coach told her that once they get to that league players must earn their time and minutes so Liam is doing well in my book. :thumbsup2

I stayed home, kinda feel a migraine coming. We're going to PF Changs tonight for his birthday and I'm happy he's going to be enjoying his day with Kyle.

Kat- you are way too stressed right now. Try to let some of this stuff go this weekend and enjoy Father's Day with your Sweetie and please wish him a Happy Birthday for me.

Dinner last night was really good, far and away much better than the night before. I have to check on the guys to see how things are going before I plan dinner for this evening.

My DH was starved from smelling me cooking all morning, so I just made him Naan pizza on the grill. I have to say it was delicious, the woodgrill flavor made it yummy.

This is the first time I have ever bought Naan. I think it is going to be a staple in my freezer from now on. Thanks to this thread!

Ann

It's going to be one of those incidents you'll remember forever!:rotfl2:

Thanks Laura! I just spoke with Johnny and Kyle pitched a heckuva game, only gave up one hit. Johnny, however, wasn't very pleased with Kyle's lunch choice - he HATES McDonalds....:lmao:

I'll bet Liam felt so good with all the support from the coaches and parents, that's the kind of stories about coaches and parents I love to hear!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I know Nan. I'm doing my best to have a peaceful weekend. Looking forward to dinner tonight with my guys.:goodvibes

Change of plans we are having hamburgers and corn.

I wanted fish with kathy's sauce but I am too beat.

Laura Sorry I missed saying congradulation to Liam :yay:

Kathy I am glad Kyle had a good game but McDonalds :rolleyes1

Johnny

I hope I haven't forgot anyone else please forgive me if I have.

Speaking of missing I didn't see Lindsay check in today. I hope all is well.

Thanks Janice! I'll be sure and show Johnny all of his b'day wishes when they get in. I'm all dressed and ready for dinner, they need to come in and shower and we're off to PF Changs for the first time, can't wait!!:cool1:

Kathy- I'm glad to hear that Kyle pitched a good game. Confession: I am a junk food junkie and one of the things I miss so much right now is Micky D's, so I get Kyle :thumbsup2

We took Kady thru the drive thru on our way home this afternoon and the burger smelled so good to me. I am a bit pathetic.

I don't think I am cooking. We went shopping after they got done setting and bought all kinds of grill friendly meats. It was storming and by the time we got home Marisa said that she was not taking any rain chances, Buddy had eaten late and was not hungry, Kady had McDonald's and Jeff wanted leftovers. So no cooking, there is food in the fridge if anyone wants anything else.

Johnny was so surprised to see b'day wishes from y'all. He says "Thanks ladies" to Lauren, Laura, Nancy & Janice and he wishes he could meet you all in person one day.:goodvibes I said "we can work that out, dear"...:lmao:

Congratulations to Kyle...sorry about his lunch choice though. I hope you have a great time at PF Chang's.

Laura Sorry I missed saying congratulation to Liam :yay:

Thanks!

Right now, I am trying to figure out what kind of serious snack I am making later. Caili had two birthday parties this afternoon, one of which overlapped with the neighborhood party, so I missed out on a lot of the food during transportation. So did Caili. She doesn't eat pizza, so aside from breakfast, she had ice cream, cake and popsicles today. She is having a big bowl of oatmeal now. I'm definitely not having that. It doesn't go with wine. ;)

ETA: Kathy, aren't you heading north next fall? You can schedule Lauren, Nancy and me all in one trip!

Laura Try alouette's spinach and artichoke. I really like the garlic and herb but this one is very tasty.

No wine and oatmeal do not go together maybe oatmeal cookies ;)

Hi Ladies,

Does anyone have a great mac & cheese recipe? DH has suffered long enough with me not cooking often since the start of NutriSystem.

I asked him what he would like tomorrow and mac & cheese was the request.

TIA:)

Kenny is taking the kids for haircuts this morning. We discovered that Amanda's photo was on the camp's website and we (ok, me mostly) were horrified to see her hair. :scared1: I don't think that child brushed it the entire week she was there. So just in case her photo gets put on this year's website, we are instructing her to brush it every day. Along with the reminder to brush her teeth, use the soap, etc. You know, standard kid going to camp stuff. :lmao:

Happy Friday everyone!

They really don't brush their hair unless I make them. The boys are always nasty by the end of the week because I've yet to find male counselors that make them shower and change their underwear. I DO make the girls shower daily with soap and wash their hair.

I encourage parents of younger campers to pack a day's worth of clothes in a gallon size ziplock and label it by day. That way, child just grabs a ziplock each morning. Works for most kids.

We also have them label every stinkin' sock, panty, and shirt with initials so I can get them back to mom when we get home. They will NOT claim whitey-tightys in front of their friends

This weekend I had kindergarten-2nd graders. There were more pink panties thrown around the room then there were kids. And it was just 1 night! I don't get it :confused3

Checking in kinda late this morning, family drama strikes again in the form of step son. He shares Johnny's name and lucked out and got a bank teller that didn't bother to check DOB on two small withdrawals made out of our checking account yesterday. Somehow he got our account # and made two W/D's. Johnny is really taking this hard, I'm used to this kind of thing and was not surprised at all. We DID press charges.:furious:

ETA: Lauren - Your dinner looked wonderful!

Oh, I am so sorry.

I just got in - burgers tonight with all the kids and their families. i brought home a few for DH. Last night was sub sandwiches and chips, pizza for lunch, chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Special K diet here I come - I won't be fitting in my clothes if I continue eating like a kid!
