It was some kind of sauce...tasted sort of like orange... didn't use it actually. Just ate the dome.

i tried finding the answer on the first page of this thread, but it is a little confusing...

are there any standard rooms with bunk beds?

we will have a pack n play, and i was thinking that would make more space...

We are headed there in Nov. Will we still see all the animals out due to colder weather. What kind of animals can I expect to see DS really wants to see elephants but I don't know if that is even a possiblity. Are there lions? We are looking at booking a 1 br villa with a savannah view, what can we expect as far as viewing animals from our room.

No elephants or lions at the lodge -- you'll have to go to the park to see them!

At the resort, you'll see zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, greater kudu, bongo, blesbok, eland, thomson's gazelle ("tommies"), ankole cattle, ostrich, red river hogs, vultures, east african crowned crane, pelican, flamingo. Okapi are being introduced to one of the savannas.

The animals are out year-round.

The funniest part about the whole thing is that this was my FIRST zebra dome and I did not know they normally do not come in such a big size. So when I got it, I thought wow, I read that some people ate 4, 5, 6 of them while at Boma's....in one setting! I thought you all were a bit piggish.

Now THAT was funny...

That's a great idea -- and definitely less food than an entire cake! It would look really nice if they'll write Happy Birthday on it!

Yes! Sorry - I meant to answer you earlier but I was not positive whether you meant standard room or standard VIEW room. The only bunk bed room I've had was a club level room... Anyway, I just looked on allearsnet and there ARE standard view, standard rooms that have bunk beds. Check out this link and Good Luck! http://allears.net/acc/g_akl.htm#bunk You're right - a bunk bed room will give you a bit more floor space.

No. This is a great thing about AKL. You don't share busses!!

No. This is a great thing about AKL. You don't share busses!!

AKL will share busses with AKV. I don't see it adding to much time to the trip though. 5 min or so.

anyway, so i have a question. i apologize if it's already been asked and answered. i usually stay at pop, but when i stayed at the poly, they provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, all in their own separate containers. something like h2o brand, or something. so i was wondering if these are the same at akl, or if they have the shampoo/cond combo and bar soap like at pop.

Oops! I'm forgetting about Kidani Hope it's not hard to get used to this. It's always been such a nice thing about staying at AKL.

I think all the Deluxe resorts now have the h2O products?? I just looked back at my AKL pics from last summer and there are some H2O products on the sink but we were staying club level that time and sometimes club level has upgraded products... hopefully someone else can answer for sure.

Dang. That leaves me back to the drawing board. I'm used to unlimited lemonade light at CBR. Somehow I don't think my pants will like it if I drink the regular stuff as much as I do the light stuff. (can't get it overhere, so I have to drink enough to last myself another year. )

I am surprised that they say no lemonade at all. Everytime I stayed at AKL they had light lemonade at Mara and my friend got it with her refillable mug. This is not the CL lounge, but still AKL...

I know that this isn't the AKL photo thread, but I've been enjoying the photos posted on here. With some things, like the Indaba, a picture really says a thousand words. Are there really supposed to be no photos on here?

The OP of the FAQ requested that there should be no general discussion and no photos. I agree however with mmmears that pictures can be extremely helpful for illustrating things! All FAQs have pictures in them, so I think this absolutely ok.

I have seen the pictures on allears, but since for pool view and savanna view the bunk beds are a seperate category which does cost more money (not a request), I think there are no standard view rooms with bunk beds. I have a distant memory (which may be wrong) that there used to be standard rooms with bunk beds, but that this was rearranged at some point...

We had exactly the same products at the poly this January as the ones we got the year before at AKL. Both times, light blue bottles with shower gel, shampoo and seperate conditioner. Unfortunately the shampoo and conditioner do not work at all on my hair!!

See, this was exactly what I was poundering about. No light lemonade at the lobby is one, but nothing on property? That did surprise me. Even did a search for pictures of the refill station, but couldn't find any (loosing the search-function on the DIS has sure been a pain).

Guess I'll just have to wait and see what others report when they come back. I'm having a really hard time believing they would get rid of the lemonade light however. And whether I track to Mara for it or to the lounge, I guess I coudn't care unless it would be waaaaaaaaaaaay out of the way to start with. I'll be buying a mug anyway (use them too much at home), so it's not like I'll have to 'pay' for the drink anyway. Ah, the headaches.

I'm heading down in a few days.... staying at SSR on DP's but do have an ADR at AKL (can't seem to go to Disney and not stop in...) I will run down to Mara and see if they have lemonaide Light for you there... and since I will be there anyway... pick up some zebra domes to take back to my room with me.
