Thanks for posting the list of activities.

Does anyone know what the cultural safari is? It marks it as adult focussed so it sounds interesting.

Castlelight - I've read someones report of the Culinary tour and they said it was good. I think you learn a bit about the food they serve at Jiko/Boma and I'm sure they said you get a couple of samples too.

One of the CMs from africa gives a slide show and tells you about their country. The one that I went to ended up being on South Africa and the CM spoke about their products, cities, national parks, etc. for about 30 minutes.

We loved AKL for many reasons, but one of the best was the bus service. Not sharing with other resorts was great, and people think it's so far away...the longest trip for us was maybe 14 minutes to magic Kingdom. The buses have clocks and my husband would time them....and laugh at how quick we reached where we were headed. We also never waited long for a bus to arrive. We love AKl and will stay there on our next Disney holiday! Enjoy!:goodvibes

Now, this is just he and I this trip. Any suggestions on romantic things to do?

Thank you.
I just switched our reservation from POFQ to AKL today and I'm so excited now. Can't wait to stay in the lodge.

Thank you! Good to know they can do it at the hotel. So does the front desk actually punch in your flight # for you and register you for your boarding pass or is their a computer in the lobby from which we would do this? How does this work?

angiepangie: Not sure if anyone answered you about this yet...You provide your confirmation letter/info at the desk, they plug in info and then print out the boarding passes for you. They usually ask for some form of identification. :) The only trick is having it done right at the 24 hr. mark to get those first seats!

Good afternoon everyone....:goodvibes
We will be staying at AKL in a few weeks....:cool1: Does anyone know if AKL has a computer in their lobby that we can use to check my home email? I wouldn't normally check my email on vacation but my son is celebrating his 10th birthday (and I will be celebrating my 30-something b-day too) and I know my parents would like to send a little email to him. :thumbsup2
Thanks
Erin

AKL does not have a business center where you could use the computer(nominal fee) You could go to BWI or similar resorts with amenities as such to check your Emails or more, but be prepared to paid at least $10.

Does anyone know if AKV has internet capability free of charge like the other DVC have done?

Yes, internet is free for members staying on points.:thumbsup2 We used it last month.

Is it free for people staying on points that belong to a friend??

I'm not sure. I think the verbiage was members and their guests but I don't know if the member has to be there as well.

I'm sure someone on the DVC board will know if you ask over there.

Thanks for the reply, we'll be there in August and were hoping to have access while we are on property.

cool thats what I thought but I saw on one website it said 90 days for sunrise and 180 for Wanyama safari... tomorrow is our 180 day for the Wanyama and AKL IP is booking it for us:woohoo:

Has anyone done the Sunrise Safari on the morning of checkin? We have a club level villa next year but the only day the Safari is offered during our stay is the very morning we check in.

TIA!:goodvibes

Couple of questions:

Is there free internet/wifi in the rooms for Club Level?

When staying Club Level should we pack/bring/ship snacks, cereal, granola bars for breakfast or will the lounge have that?

We are going July 8-13, 2008

ok now I'm really excited:woohoo: we have our confirmations on both the Sunrise Safari Dec 14th and the Wanyama Sunset Safari Dec 12th... now we are just waitin' on Dec:santa: :santa: :santa:
