I have a Pop/Transportation question, so Tyler... are you still out there? We want to book a Segway Tour at Epcot at 8:30am, but I was told that transportation probably will not be able to get me there and I will have to probably take a taxi if I don't have a car.

Epcot buses will run with PLENTY of time to get you to your tour. I'd recommend being at the bus stop no later than 7:45, which will get you to Epcot plenty early for the tour even if you just missed a bus.

Can anyone that has recently visited POP (or Tyler) give me good directions from MCO Airport? We are considering renting a car on our arrival day & departure day - gettting the car at MCO & returning it to the Dolphin (vice versa on departure day.)

Take 417 to the Osceola Parkway exit. At the off ramp, take a right, and Pop will be a mile or two on your right. :)

Tolls will be about $2.25 -- some are exact change booths, so make sure to have quarters.

Will there be a bus to Epcot that early even if it's not EE day for Epcot? I know that there is a Princess Breakfast at Norway, but the park doesn't open til 9:00 and we are supposed to be there by 8:15.

Thanks so much for all your helpful information!

 oo oo pick me pick me!

Buses start running prior to the earliest PS reguardless of park opening time. 30 minutes prior I think.

Opinions please!

Would two adults (mother/daughter) no little ones this time enjoy a December weekend trip to the Pop?? We have the reservation but could change if we need to.

Oh, by the way we well in love with the WL during our stay this past summer, will we be disapointed with the Pop??? The WL is not available :( during the only weekend we can go.

The other suggestion made to us was the POFQ because of the distance near DTD and the boardwalk. WL is the only one we know real well and are concerned.

This will be a quick Xmas shopping expedtion so we won't spend much time at the resort, but we do want a nice quiet room to put our sore feet up!:earseek:

Thank you all for any help on this!

Never trust transportation information unless it comes from someone wearing purple pants. :) Perhaps they were including average wait time. Buses run about every 15 minutes, give or take.

The bus ride to the DTD area will be around 12 minutes, give or take, depending on traffic lights.

There is no bus to the Boardwalk. You'll have to take a bus to the Studios (5min) and then a boat to the Boardwalk (25min).

Oh, Tyler thank you so much!! You have answered a question that I have posed to several others but I have never been given such a clear answer. I sure hope Disney knows what a jewel they have in you!!!

Winnie Pooh fan-

Just like you, we went to WL this summer (and loved it), and now we're going to do a quick pre-Xmas trip to POP the first weekend of December!

I wouldn't worry one bit about being disappointed, especially given your shopping plans. MY DW and I are looking forward to having BETTER transportation to every place we want to go with the possible exception of MK (which we "did well" when we went this summer)...and even there, the launces from WL were nice but we found them to be occasionally slow and often very hot!

Winnie Pooh Fan,

DH, DD and I stayed at WL this July also! I do like the deluxes when there are 3 or 4 of us, but when it's just DD & myself (as it was in January), POP was perfect!!! I can't wait to go back! In fact, when we were at WL in July, we went over to POP just to hang out for awhile and soak up the ambience!

Ronald Duck,

I remember your posts on the WL site. Sure hope you guys had as great of a time as we did at WL!!

We will be there the same weekend as you. Just a quick trip! Thank you for the post.

How interesting, we were worried that we wouldn't enjoy the Pop after WL. We want a quite place to come back to after shopping however, WL was not available during our time and the AP rate at the Pop is hard to pass up.

Just got my AP rate ressies for 1night in Dec....We decided rather then arrive on Sat AM...we should fly in on Friday night and stay at POP before heading over to BWV

My son loves the Icons at POP....so he is thrilled...

Can't wait...we enjoyed it for our 1 night stay last Dec....hopefully this december goes even smoother....(checkin took forever...It was the first week they opened....)

Sorry to bump this...but I think my questions got lost 4 pages back.:p

Has the information on pg 1 been updated or changed?
Is it all accurate since last year?

Curious about :
Surrey bikes?
Still only one bus stop?
Is the bridge open?
Have they been getting any large groups?
Any news on the Legendary Years?

Any recent photos?

What pool tends to be the least crowded?

thanks

Still have the Surrey bikes from what I can tell.
Still only one bus stop.
Bridge is open, but dead ends at the other side.
Pop does get some groups, but no LARGE groups.
No news on Legendary.
Computer pool is the least crowded, typically.

My room was right here in this picture!! I think it is four windows down, room 3018 if I remember correctly!! Great view of the Hourglass Lake and partially built Legendary Years buildings. While they are brown, it was all open around them and provided a very open view across the lake towards EPCOT/MGM!!

Outside my room at Pop Century!
