Hmmm.... To be honest I have no clue at all, but I guess the best bet for you is to contact Disney Cruise Line itself, they most definetly would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Good luck though, hopefully you will get to stay at Pop and have a great time!

I am thinking about staying at POP the day before our cruise. If I purchase DCL transfers - will they pick me up at POP? Or do I need to go somewhere else? (This is for the 14-day PC cruise; so I am not sure if anyone can really answer this, but thanks anyway!)

You'll have to go to a Disney Cruise Line resort to be picked up for that. Pop Century will transfer the luggage over by 9am for the luggage truck, and you can take the bus to the Studios and the boat to the Swan to be picked up by the coach at 11:00. (I think it's 11)

You will need to call Luggage Assistance the night before, and make sure they know it's Cruise Line luggage. Also make sure the bags are tagged with the special tags they will send you.

Has the information on pg 1 been updated or changed?
Is it all accurate since last year?

Curious about :
Surrey bikes?
Still only one bus stop?
Is the bridge open?
Have they been getting any large groups?
Any news on the Legendary Years?

Any recent photos?

What pool tends to be the least crowded?

thanks

After reading this thread religiously I am getting ready to bookour room at Pop for Feb 10- 17 and I would like to be in the 50's building. Do I just tell the Cro cm to place 50's Building 2 or 3 lake view upper foloor (3rd or 4th) on my reservation or is that to much to ask for?

Thanks

I just posted 4+ pages of photos I've found all over the Internet...after we go to POP at the beginning of December, I'll add to/replace them with MY OWN photos!

Here's the URL for the first page...just follow the links to the rest of the pages. And, if the pics don't load, be patient...the first time it may take a litle while:

By the way, if you want to see my own WL pics from our recent trip:

I've read this entire looong thread over a few days, and I have a question I don't think has been completely addressed. How do people feel about the ground floor vs the top floor. We've always requested and stayed on the ground floor at moderates for conveneince, but now we're going to PC and I'm contemplating the fourth floor for a different perspective and less foot traffic. Has anyone stayed on both in any of the moderates or value? Any thoughts?:earsboy: ::MinnieMo

In trying to access my POP pics (see above), you may encounter a server problem (on and off)...so if you get a "cannot access server" message, try later. Sorry

I'm trying to think if we've ever stayed on the 1st floor. I believe that we did our trip in February of 02. This last trip we stayed on the 3rd floor, and it was absolutely not a problem at all. Most days we took the elevator at the end of the day. They were never busy. I'd definitely go for it.

Okay, I apologize in advance if these questions have already been answered. I've been reading for two days and am only up to page 50-something in this WAY long thread, LOL. I'm out of patience...so I guess it's people like me who repeat questions and make the thread SO long? LOL

1. With a small child in a stroller would I be better off trying for a room on the ground floor (more noisy maybe?) or a room higher up (harder to get to with only elevators in the middle?) ?

2. Where exactly is the pop jet area in relation to the buildings? I know it's near the 70's...but where? (I don't see it on the map.)

3. Ditto for the playground?

Thank you to anyone who can help! :D

If walking an extra 50 feet is really THAT big of a deal, then maybe the first floor would be better. However, in the grand scheme of things, it's really no big deal.

Pop Jet is between 70's A and 60's B.

Playground is between 70's B and Classic Hall/bus stops

Thanks for the quick reply Tyler! Nope, after the 10 miles I walk in the parks each day I don't suppose another 50 feet would make much difference one way or the other, LOL. :teeth: It's a bit difficult to judge the distances from looking at the layout map! We stayed at AKL this year and it is a LONG haul from the ends of the "wings" to the lobby, that's for sure! I guess I was kind of imagining the two buildings as the same size, how silly. I won't even worry about that then. I do think that 70's sounds like the area I'd like to request though! Thanks again! :sunny:

We were just at POP from August 16-21 and had a ground floor room! To us this was what we wanted, no elevator/stairs....and there was no increase in noise, etc....

Go fro the 50's section!!!

We have booked a quick weekend trip to the Pop in early December. Can anyone tell me how long of a bus trip it is to DTD and to the Boardwalk area??

Reservations told me 20-30 minutes is this accurate??? We stayed at WL in July and loved the great transporation there will we be disapointed with the Pop??

Thank you for any help!

I have a Pop/Transportation question, so Tyler... are you still out there? We want to book a Segway Tour at Epcot at 8:30am, but I was told that transportation probably will not be able to get me there and I will have to probably take a taxi if I don't have a car. We have always been able to depend on Disney Transportation to get us where we want to go in the past, even if we have to be a little creative. We tried to book a tour on Sunday, which is the Magic Kingdom early entry day. We planned to take the bus to MK, then catch the resort monorail to TTC. My question is, what time will the Epcot monorail begin running? Can we get to Epcot before 8:30 on the monorail? Or is there a better way that I can't think of? Maybe catch a bus back to Yacht & Beach and then walk through the park? Is the International Gateway open that early? I can think of lots of options, but not sure how to find out what time things start running/opening.

Thanks!

Pop is way closer to DTD than WL. WL is at the south end near MK. Pop and CBR are practically central to the whole resort. I can't see how transportation couldn't be better from Pop except to MK. Somewhere WAYYYYYY back in this thread, Tyler listed the transportation times from PC to all the area. It seemed VERY reasonable.

Can anyone that has recently visited POP (or Tyler) give me good directions from MCO Airport? We are considering renting a car on our arrival day & departure day - gettting the car at MCO & returning it to the Dolphin (vice versa on departure day.)

I would also love to know any fees (tolls) that we might incur along the way. Also, is there a charge/parking fee at all after entering Disney property? We took a towncar last year & seem to remember the driver stopping somewhere in Disney & paying something (maybe this was because we were staying at a MK Resort?) Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!! :)

Transportation at POP is the best we have experienced with buses coming in one right after another! The ride to Downtown Disney is DEFINETLY NOT that long! When on the bus they say "10-12 minutes" if I remember correctly but our driver made it in a little over 5. No matter what, the bus ride will be faster then driving.

Never trust transportation information unless it comes from someone wearing purple pants. :) Perhaps they were including average wait time. Buses run about every 15 minutes, give or take.

The bus ride to the DTD area will be around 12 minutes, give or take, depending on traffic lights.

There is no bus to the Boardwalk. You'll have to take a bus to the Studios (5min) and then a boat to the Boardwalk (25min).
