Hi, Kazza! I just couldn't resist responding to your post, having just recently seen that Friends episode again! I have stick straight hair that gets curly/frizzy when I'm in Florida. I say just put on a hat and don't worry about it - most of us with hair will look like that anyway! Time's too short to spend it fussing with your hair - enjoy Mickey instead! Laura :)

I love this thread! So much great information.

Question - Because the day we arrive / check-in is Regular Season and the very next day begins Value Season we have 2 reservations. There is a chance that we may have to switch rooms and we're okay with that since it means saving money. What I wonder though is if we do have to switch rooms are we able to have Luggage (forgot the full title, sorry) move the luggage for us? We would be leaving POP early so we can catch EMH at MK and not returning until after Wishes (starts at 8:30).

Thanks in advance for your help!!

When you check in, let them know you have a continuing reservation. Most times, the rooms are already pre-blocked for this. The rate change day is infamous around the resort.

Most times, you'll be able to keep the same room. In some situations, it might not be possible. In that case, Luggage Assistance will move your bags for you while you are out at the parks. :)

I faxed my request about a week ahead of time. We had no problems getting what we requested. The 70's (Blg # 6) on the 4th floor was quiet. and facing the Lake
Thanks brisem!
Would you know a tel # I could use to make my requests (toll free if possible) or do they prefer a fax?

I faxed it to a local number. Sorry

We had a great time at Pop and my kids loved the Hippy Dippy pool. I didn't get to meet Tyler face to face, but I did talk to him on the phone! He saved the day and found the Dis stroller swap stroller for me :wave2: Thanks!!
We had a lake view from 50's building B. It looks pretty far from the main building on the map but in real life it was not far at all. The food court had lots of yummy food, I liked the waffels in the morning.
I have a bit more to say, but must sleep some- and then there is all the laundry to do.

Hi, Tyler! This is a fabulous thread, and I'm sure in 90-odd pages this question has been asked but I can't find it. :p

My dh is sending me and our oldest son (he's 5 and we have 13 week old twins) to Pop for a special Mommy and Zane trip next week! Our departing flight doesn't leave until 7:30, so will Luggage Services hold our stuff for us after we check out? We've always driven down before, so this will be the first time we've had to deal with this.

Thanks!!
Pam

Yes they can hold your luggage until you are ready to leave. Just call Luggage assistance the night before and they will pick up your luggage after you go to the park the next morning.

Can anyone advise what we should take to any of the parks we visit? We will be buying the MK, Universal and hopefully Discovery Cove tickets but apart from water we don't really know what to take.

Thanx

You should take rain poncho's and maybe a few snacks...camera a small first aid pack. ect.

It really depends on the ages of the group. We have young kids so I have to carry a backpack with a set of clothing for my youngest in a ziplock bag). If I didn't need to I would bring only water, as large a towel as I could fit in my waist bag, sunblock (you need to reapply several times a day) my camera (in a zip lock bag in case of rain), a few Tylonol, and money. I also bring extra pony tail bands because my daughter and I have long hair. Because I carry a back pack I carry ponchos, spare socks (if your socks get wet you may get blisters) and Gold Bond powder (which is great for feet soothing, and anti chaffing. I also bring trail mix or nuts to snack on and sometimes apples or oranges. Some people carry band aids, chapstick, a brush or comb...
Sunblock and a towel are my must haves. The towel has hundreds of uses. You can dry a bench seat or ride seat or bus seat before you sit down, sit on it for parades, use it as a small blanket in air conditioning, use it to flag down your husband in a crowd (wave it to get his attention), and we used it to hold space for parade/firework viewing (it is very hard to hold 'empty' space, but put a towel down and everyone knows you mean to reserve the spot). I most often brought a few towels because I had the back pack and it was the only thing we really missed if we forgot. We would just use the towels from our room and switch them out for clean ones each day.
If there is anything you find you need and don't have with you in the parks just ask. They have loads of stuff they do not display.

There is a really great article at this site that tells some of the things people pack for traveling. Hopefully it will give you some sort of idea.
http://allearsnet.com/pl/forgot.htm

We tend to take a bag/backpack with sunscreen, Advil or Tylenol, water, snacks, mister fan, tickets, money, traveler checks, and/or credit card, waterproof ponchos, bandaids, hats, sunglasses, camera, extra film, ziplock plastic bags, and wash cloth. I know this sounds like a lot of things, but none of them are very large and we usually find that we need them, especially if we've forgotten them in the room! (that Murphy's Law thing!)
:earsgirl:

Thanx all, I 'll take a note of all those things you all mentioned. My eldest is 18 and my wee one is 7. My aunt will be in a wheelchair so we can hang some stuff on that, lol
