:Pinkbounc My DS (4) saw pictures and said, "That's Disneyworld!" We have not been to POP yet but look forward to coming in July!::yes::

I love this thread. Thanks Tyler for all the pics and info. We will be staying at Pop Century November 14-November 19!! I am soooo excited! :Pinkbounc

Tyler - Do you get a bonus for the business you've been giving the PC!! The pix are great.

I do have one question for anyone. How deep are the pools at Pop? :scratchin

Thanks!

1. Can we pay without a credit card?
Yes, you can. In fact, if you wish, you can put down cash, to create a debit based charging privledge, so that you dont need to keep wads of cash all the time.

2. My stepdad wants to visit and maybe stay a night... will we get in biig trouble for this? (not saying we'll do it..lol)
The rooms have two double beds, and sleep 4. A fifth person may visit, but may not spend the night in the room.

3. Is it really difficult to get a 60's room with a pool view?
One note of caution -- Pool view rooms can have late night noise. You can still get a 60's room, close to the pool bar, but facing away from the pool.

Love the photos, Tyler! We are soooooo excited about Pop!

Tyler, your pictures are awesome! You have made the POP Century! Do the higher ups have any idea how much you've done for the hotel?

And I want to know too what kind of camera you used.

They are aware that people come searching for me every day, and have nicknamed y'all my "fan club"... LOL Whether or not they know that I have no life, and am always on here... well, *shrug*

The camera I used is an old Sony 2.0 megapixel digital camera. The lens was dirty, and I had the wrong macro settings on.. but despite that, I think they came out decent.

Also, are there any rooms at PC that we could see some of the fireworks from. If so, what should we ask for? We have a 3 1/2 yr old DD and I don't know if she will make it later at night in the parks to see any of the firework shows.

Yes... there are certain rooms in building 2, 3, (50s) and 6 (70s) that you can see some of Illuminations from.

Tyler, thank you so much for the great pics. Your info has been invaluable! We are visiting for the first time in a few weeks, we can't wait. We are easy to please, and I think that we could spend most of our time at Pop, and be very happy. How is school?
I remember the days, working full time, and going to school, couldn't do it again! You should be proud of yourself, it will be worth it.

Oh Tyler...these pictures are amazing..the bright color..the details. It makes me feel like I'm already there and looking out a window! I can't wait...I also noticed that the pool chairs have a colorful pattern on them! Thanks for the pictures and all the great advice!:chat:

We have paid the extra for a preferred building. But after looking at the wonderful photos (thanks Tyler!), I'm really liking the looks of those rooms facing the lake. These look like they are in 3 or 4 different buildings. Is it safe to assume that we could get any of them if they are available at checkin? Or do you think we would have to stick with just the preferred building? I don't think we really want a poolside room, I was just trying to avoid a parking lot view.

There are lakeview rooms in the preferred buildings. I'd stick with it for now, and when you check in, just let them know that you want a lake view room. Just be aware that lake view rooms will have a slightly further walk from the main building.

I can't convince my hubby to pay extra for a preferred anything....what building would you recommend. We will be driving, we would like to be near a pool and everything POP but not really neccessary since from what I understand everything is fairyly close....I have heard you want to avoid the 90's building because you can hear the highway is that correct???

Actually, the 90s building is what I would recommend. In regards to highway noise, forget about it. I personally have stayed in the 1990s building, and even standing outside, as close to the highway I could get, you don't hear it.

The 1990s building would be a great location for y'all. You will have a parking lot close by that does not have the parking problems that people have reported. Just make sure to park in the designated 1980s/1990s parking instead of the 1970s parking. (Building 9 in the 1980s would also be okay)

It's also not far from the buses, and not really far from the food court. The secret is to cut across the 1970s parking, and down the bus stops. If you have a stroller and cant cut through the parking lot, just go along the side.

A second choice would be building 10, in the 1970s. This building will be closer to Classic Hall and the food court. There is also a parking lot close by. The downside to this is that the 1970s only have a pop-jet area, and not a real pool. However, the 1960s Hippy Dippy pool is not far at all, and the 1980s/1990s computer pool is close by as well.

School is starting back up for me tomorrow. Thankfully my summer semester will be light. YAY! I get to have a social life! :)

Thank you for the pics! By looking at the pictures i know for sure that I want a lakeview room (not booked for 60's building). The 7th picture from the top looks like a great place. Where was that taken?

I like the idea of being on the quieter side of the hotel, but then just a short walk and you're in all the fun!

Can't wait till August!!

If I wanted to perhaps have a chance of seeing the fireworks from buildings 2,3,6 should i have a lakeside view or a different view or does it matter?

Thank you again,
Cindy Z

You can also see Illuminations from Bldg.4(60s) with lakeside view. You can also see some of Spaceship Earth,Tower of Terror and Swan and Dolphin from here-floors 3 and 4 are best. This is a preferred Bldg. however.:D

Just wanted to say firstly what a great help this thread has been. This is my first post and my first time in America, we fly out on July 15th and can't wait.
Hopefully, someone can help with a few Q's I have.......here goes!!

1. Do reservations that show someone is disabled and uses a wheelchair get noticed?
2. What's the nearest beach?
3. How much would it cost to buy hair straightners out there?
4. I read in a thread from months ago that an Iron, Ironing board and Hairdryer are or can be supplied at PC, is this true?
5. We do not have a major Debit or Credit card so would we still be able to use a solo card in the area?
6. How many towels, if any do we need to take with us?
7. We don't want to visit parks every day as we are there for 21 days so what tickets are recommended for parks?
I have so many Q's but I think this will do for now.
Take care everyone and thanx in advance for any replies.
