There is a number you can call to help make arrangements for this, someone on the DISabilities board can help you with the number.

3. How much would it cost to buy hair straightners out there?
I don't know.

6. How many towels, if any do we need to take with us?
Towels will be provided in your room. That is standard here in the states.

Look on the Budget board for informatiion on the Fun in the Sun Pass. It is around $320us and is good for all parks, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest, Water parks, plus a few minor attractions outside of WDW (Kennedy Space Center and some Musems). I think this will be your best deal, you can buy the tickets by telephone or online. It also includes one breakfast. Speaking of eating do you know about the Priority Seating for sit down meals at WDW? If not check out the info here on the DIS, click on 'home' link at the top of the page to go to the DIS information area.

I hope that helps some

Thanks bunches Tyler!! big help! Im definatly part of your fan club now! ... there's a good chance ill hunt you down when im there in July..lol... Ill see what time you are working closer to when we are leaving. Hopefully I can get a similar job down there sometime in the near future as i will be seeking a tourism/hospitality degree and plan on moving to or near the Orlando area... I am SOO excited about our trip... its the first on site trip to wdw... it'll be great I know! I think we are gonna be doing a 70's or 60's rooms somewhere in the middle of everything...around the most themed areas.... umm... where would that be? thanks again! -ASHTON

Hello
I was on Mousesavers.com and they said you could request bedrails from any resort, are these available at pop? If they are that would be GREAT because we wouldn't need a crib for our infant and could save a LOT of space in the room. Thanks,
Lesley

Yes they are. Just call housekeeping! (and ask for extra towels and a hairdryer too if you need them!!)

p.s. - depending on the age of the baby and whether he/she moves around a lot, you might need two sets.

I think it's 5'9" at the deepest section in the center, and 3'8" or so at the edges.

Thank you for such speedy replies. You said Blizzard beach was the nearest. How far is it tho? You also said that disabled booking forms are noticed, but do they look at giving a room on a low floor or anything for example or would I be better to try to request this directly to PC?
Most ppl in the UK will know what a solo card is, it's just a very basic withdrawal card for the ATM and my daughter was looking to withdraw her wages while we're on holiday, lol
Prriority seating for eating was mentioned, does this just mean not having to wait in a queue to be seated or have I completely missed the point?

Thanx again to you all, this is a truly magical thread, very helpful

Kazza25...

I think Tyler was being funny about Blizzard Beach...it's one of the Disney water parks. If you're looking to go to the BEACH, Cocoa Beach is about an hour away on the East coast, and you could travel a little further and visit some beautiful Gulf coast beaches.

Also, have you checked into the park passes Disney offers for UK (and I'm assuming Scotland too!) visitors? Check their website and see...I know any of the park passes will be cheaper if you buy them before you arrive.

If you aren't renting a car while you're there, you will definitely enjoy the Disney waterparks. You can make a day of it just going to one!

I am not sure, but I do know that you can ask for a roll in shower, grab bars, and I assume they also have wider doors. I would make the request both ways.

We just call them ATM cards here- there are ATM machines in WDW, however it would have to be in the network. In the states there are little symbols on the cards telling you what networks it will work on, I know my ATM card works all over Europe so they must be international. Cirrus is one of the bigger networks.

You have it, I think... PS do keep you from a long wait in a queue, but they also may be THE ONLY way to get a seat at all at some places/times. The breakfast at the Castle in MK, for example. Also it is good to have PS for the sit down places at Epcot. You don't need to make them a full 90 days in advance (except for the Castle) but sooner is better than later. You can always change them when you get into town, but it is sort of sad to want a nice meal and be told the next table is avaliable in 3 hours.

This has been such a great thread. I am thinking about changing my reservation from ASMo to PC now. It sounds great. This will be our 1st visit to a value resort. PC sounds better than ASMo. If I am going to change......I need to do it today.

Any advice, should I or shouldn't I???

Thanks princess:

We stayed at AS Music about 4 years ago, and it was fine. We stayed at Pop Century this past December and just loved it! We are staying there again in September.

Tyler - Just wanted to say that this thread is great!!!

We have stayed at Pop Century before, but I still learned some new things reading through the information you provided here. Silly as it may sound, I did not realize that there was a lake there.

My question would be that we have 2 rooms reserved for next month and it say "connected rooms" on my reservation. Are they able to do that? Or do I need to call a few days ahead to reiterate?

We are travelling with my mother on this trip (need for the second room) and my 2yo DS needs to be able to access both rooms easily.

Thanks!!

I do have a question if someone who has been can answer for me. IF you take the Disney Transportation to MK, does it drop you off at the place to grab the monorail or ferry or does it take you right to the front gates??? I read on pg 8 of this thread a comment that sounded like you don't have to take the monorail or ferry that the bus will drop you right off.....anyone know for sure.

Thanks

The bus drops you off "at the gate" the bus stops are to the left as you exit the park. The monorail is to the right. THe ferry is roughly in front of you.

You do have to walk a little, but it is not bad.

Wow, this is an exciting thread. I will be planning a disney trip to actually stay on-site in 2008. Yep, you read that right.

We were at Disney last year which was my first visit in 15 years, but with about 10 other family members.

My daughter was 3 and had a blast. I want her next trip to be the best since it will only be my husband, myself and daughter. She will probably remember the next one more since she will be 8.

1. How far in advance do you need to make reservations? Do you call (407) 938-4000?

2. We will be staying 15 nights and someone recommended getting the annual passes to get a discount on rooms. Can you get annual pass at anytime or do I need to wait till January of that year? Also, does that mean I can't book the room awhile till I have the passes to get the better discount?

3. Where is the best place to get an annual pass? Can you get them in a disney store or does it have to be purchased online?

4. AAA be a better place to book or stick with the A/P for discount?

5. I think I would prefer the 60's (B) or 70's (B) building, non-smoking. Is the first floor better to be near pools, or the 4th to see fireworks, or can't you see fireworks from those buildings?

As you can tell, I have plenty of time for planning which I'm taking my time to make it magical since this will be our first "On-Site" visit. I want it to be as magical as can be since it's our first, big, alone family trip...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

So just so I am sure....fighting a headache and not thinking clearly. You don't have to transfer from the bus to the monorail...the bus will take you directly to the the front gates of Main St USA???

Also where is it you can find out how full they are??? We are coming in mid Sept and curious if it will be very crowded.

Thanks

I'm coming back! We almost had to cancel our vacation for November but we will be there from Nov 19 to 25. My daughter is really looking forward to Pop Century!

Bus pickup outside the main hall at Pop, bus drop off within 50 yards of the Magic Kingdom Entrance. No Monorail or Ferry ride necessary...

Mid September will be perfect. Very low crowds. Very low room rates. I think you can get the for $59 a night right now.
