Tyler, may I ask you a couple of questions based on your "purple pants" days?Do buses run from DTD to the parks or only to the resorts. Also,if a day guest wanted to look at the WL,are they allowed to use the WL boat from MK?Could a day guest use the resort bus from AK to the AK Lodge to check it out.Or,is all resort transportation technically only for resort guests.I always stay on property;I am just curious.Thanks.

Buses at DTD run to/from resorts only.

Resort transportation is free for all guests to use, provided they have a legitimate reason for using them. (ie: dining, shopping, checking out the resort, etc) Using resort transportation to park at DTD for free, and go to a theme park would not be a legitimate reason.

Is there a radio in the room?

Your room will be furnished with a record player, or an 8-track player, depending on what decade you get placed in.

LOL, just kidding. All rooms will have an AM/FM alarm clock/radio.

Is parking free at the Boardwalk area if you are a Pop Century guest? Also,if we go over to the Boardwalk after we check out on our last day, are we still considered on site guests(are there window stickers or some such thing for the cars)? I seem to remember still using resort transportation to the parks on previous visits, but that was 8 years ago,I might be confused.
Since we are thinking of visiting the boardwalk area on last day,it would be smarter to take car (especially if parking is free)versus using resort transportation from Boardwalk back to Pop Century to get the car. Can anyone help?

Yes, parking at the Boardwalk is free. I'd definetly recommend using your own car in that situation.

Just a general reminder that parking at the Boardwalk for visiting the Boardwalk is great... by all means, feel free. But when parking there, one shouldn't be visiting the theme parks.

Hey Tyler,

Here's a pointless question:

I've notived in quite a few WDW room photos that the room door is on an angle kinda making a "nook" with the neighbor's door. Is that designed to allow guests to get out of the way with other guest toting their luggage or is there another reason?

I am now about 9 months away. Geesh!!!

Umm... yeah... sure... that's it! LOL, honestly, I don't know the exact reason, but I'm sure it has to do with that, and/or the housekeeping carts.

Is there a snack bar near any of the pools? If so...what kind of food do they have there? Is there any alcohol served?

Ahhhhhh, I'm just picturing myself out by the pool now. Too bad it's more than 3 months away!

There is an outdoor bar right by the pool. I'm not sure if they have food or not. However, the food court is also right there by the pool. It would be a quick trip in there to get a snack. The food court has a HUGE assortment of foods and snacks.

Any suggestions as to the best building to request for one night? Since it's only one night, I don't care much about proximity to the food court, bus stops, etc. Just which area would have the best atmosphere and 'Pop Century' feeling to it? Also, since my only real concern is a non-smoking room that is not facing a parking lot (in any building), should I make my request in advance or just do it at check-in? Oh yeah, it will be me, my friend, and my 12 week old daughter, if it makes any difference. Thanks!

I think all of Pop is very neat and unique. I don't think you can go wrong with an area, especially if you don't care if you are close to anything. If it were me, I would let it be a surprise. That way, you won't be disappointed if you don't get your area you picked.

If you really want to pick the 80/90's is down at one end. It has Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead. They have a pool, and it's at the end and would be quiet. If you picked the 70's or 50's you could ask to be on the back side, and you could be by the walkway. I think the 70's has the walkway behind it. If not, the 50's does.

We wil be arriving on the morning of Sunday May 23rd. Can't wait!! We will be in the prefered bldgs., just wondering if I should request anything else. I requested non smoking when I made the reservation but would also like 4th floor. If we are facing the pool will noise be a big problem if we are on 4th floor and is one of the two bldgs closer to the food court and buses. Dont want to sound real picky, just thought since we are paying the 10 extra a nite would like to get the best room we can! We will be checking in early so I thought instead of faxing a request we could just do it at check in. Thanks to anyone for there comments! Hope to see you soon Tyler!!

We were there in January; 4th floor of the 60's (preferred) building facing the pool - noise was never a problem and the view was fantastic! Have a GREAT time; I'm so jealous!! :p Laura

Yes... Petal's Pool Bar (next to the Hippy Dippy Pool) has a full bar, as well as typical bar snacks if I'm not mistaken. And the food court is right next to the Hippy Dippy pool anyways.

I'd recommend Building 6 (70s)... or even building 3 (50s), and request to have a lake view. Some rooms in building 3 can also see the Epcot fireworks.

Thanks Tyler, I'll be looking for you next week on the 19th and 20th!
