The All New Pop Century FAR OUT FAQ Thread!

The building that is closest to the main building and to the big pool is the preferred area. If you look at the layout of Sports and Music, the different buildings are in a row. So, the first theme is the preffered. When you go to Movies and Pop, though, they are scattered around. The prefffered building might be a bit closer to the main pool, and it might be a tad bit closer to the main building, but in my opinion, it is not that much closer to warrant an extra ten dollars a night. The 50's also has a pool, it's just a little bit further from the main buildiing, but not enough again to make me want to pay an extra 10 dollars

Sports is set up like Movies more than like Music. Really, having stayed at the furthest out building in Sports (both Baseball and Basketball) I don't think the walk was too bad. Music though, we had a preferred room and were very glad. The walk from the last set of buildings was very far.

Yo Tyler. :wave2:

Just another stupid question not about Pop:

I've noticed ever since you mentioned you used to drive the buses that under your user name is a pic of a bus and the front (or rear) car of a monorail train, were you a monorail pilot (or whatever they're called) as well?

Okay, sort of a Pop question:

When are you going to post more pictures on your Pop Century web site? What about more videos? You promised. :3dglasses

Still well in the triple digits but getting closer everyday:

hi

I have reservations currently for the 60s building..
I have requested the first floor and nonsmoking ajoining rooms..
We are going to change a couple of things..

I am wondering if it makes a difference when I change my requests........should i do it right away or does it really not make a difference to do it a month out?

Is a refrigerator a request or can you get them for sure if you ask when you reserve you room... We really want non smoking so that is a priority and it sounds like you are guaranteed to get ajoining rooms when you have kids.......

We would like them to be a king in one room and two doubles in the other... How many of these rooms are there in the 60's building???are there any on the 4th floor?? I remember staying at the music all star and being on the first floor and you could hear the people above you so we are want tochange to be on the top floor..Has anyone been there during a real busy time and had that problem?

Are there any of the rooms with kings and doubles ajoining?? Are you better off to not ask much or just tell them the order you would like??We will be arriving somewhat early in the day as we are getting off a cruise ship in tampa and checking in on a Sunday in Next july.. But it is July 3rd so I imagine disney is pretty busy that time

thanks to anyone who can help..

All I wanted to say...

TYLER...HERE COME THE SHARPLES!!!!

We are leaving the day after tomorrow and will arrive at Pop on the 17th for nine nights! YIPPEE!!! I don't think I could be any more excited!

This isn't from Tyler's site, but I posted some pictures awhile ago.

It had always been my childhood dream to drive the Monorail, so my first role here at the Walt Disney World Resort was indeed a Monorail Pilot. :) It was loads of fun, but in the end, I was driving around in circles, and getting nowhere.

Wow!! Those pictures are really awesome!! What type of camera did you take them with?

I am thinking now that I need to change my first 2 nights ressie from POFQ to the POP! My 3 y/o grandson would just love this place. I wish we could just visit them all, but there's just not enough time or money.:sad2: :sad2:

I'm thinking, maybe I could add just one more night to the end of my ressie just to check this place out!

Oh my goodness, those new pictures are wonderful. Monday can't get here fast enough. Hope to see you then!

Not too much longer til I'm there! Only 89 more days!!!! Tomorrow morning I'm going to make my PS's! Yeah! Plus I'm going to Epcot for the day!

Can't wait to see the POP!

okay... ive been reading this for ever and this thread has gotten Looooooooooooong... and I havent said a word, asked a question, or taken up an inkling of space, I even decided against the Dolphin and decided that our first onsite should be at the pop... and now.. a question or two.
We will hopefully be staying in late July. Four of us.
1. Can we pay without a credit card?
2. My stepdad wants to visit and maybe stay a night... will we get in biig trouble for this? (not saying we'll do it..lol)
3. Is it really difficult to get a 60's room with a pool view? and what room #'s should i ask for etc. to get this? Cause this is where the pool bar is and... well... I know my Mom will be all about that!! lol..plus it looks way cool
sorry if soe of these questions wereasked...thanks ALOOOOT!

Tyler, your pictures are awesome! You have made the POP Century! Do the higher ups have any idea how much you've done for the hotel?

And I want to know too what kind of camera you used.

Thanks so much!!

GREAT pictures, Tyler!! You captured the beauty of Pop! Now I miss it even more. We're coming back in July - with the heat and the crowds - can't wait!!!! :sunny:

We will be visiting WDW for the first time in a couple weeks. We booked our stay with a travel agent and got UPH tickets. The confirmation I received from the travel agent only shows the hotel stay and lump payment for the tickets. He said we will pick them up when we check in at Pop Century. Will the person checking us in be the one to get these for us, or do we go somewhere else? Also, we will be arriving around 9am, I realize we can't get into the room then, but can we still check in to get the tickets?

Also, are there any rooms at PC that we could see some of the fireworks from. If so, what should we ask for? We have a 3 1/2 yr old DD and I don't know if she will make it later at night in the parks to see any of the firework shows.

Thx.

Amy

Your tickets will be given to you when you check in. Your room key will also be your park pass and if you like a charge card.
Fireworks- I don't know..
Enjoy your stay.

We have paid the extra for a preferred building. But after looking at the wonderful photos (thanks Tyler!), I'm really liking the looks of those rooms facing the lake. These look like they are in 3 or 4 different buildings. Is it safe to assume that we could get any of them if they are available at checkin? Or do you think we would have to stick with just the preferred building? I don't think we really want a poolside room, I was just trying to avoid a parking lot view.

Or if anyone else has a suggestion for me

I;m sure it has been asked here but since I am late coming in I can't find it in all the info.

We are planning on staying at POP from Sept 17 - 24 for 7 nights....yaaaaaa....OK back to the question.

I can't convince my hubby to pay extra for a preferred anything....what building would you recommend. We will be driving, we would like to be near a pool and everything POP but not really neccessary since from what I understand everything is fairyly close....I have heard you want to avoid the 90's building because you can hear the highway is that correct???

What do you recommend for me???

Thanks

Kim
