Can somebody explain to a first time visitor what is the easiest way to get to Boardwalk from POP ?

It does all depend on a few things... will you have your own transportation, or mind driving? Boardwalk is only a few minute drive. Disney Transpo is a good idea if you have time. We had dinner at the BC before Illuminations one night. So we took the Bus to MGM and the Boat to BC. Thing with this is.. the Boardwalk is the last stop for the boat, so you have to drop off at Swan/Dolphin & YC/BC first.

BUT this is an idea that I like... esp if its nice weather. Bus to MGM then when you get off the bus turn Right away from MGM. There is a sidewalk that funs along the canal and takes you to the Boardwalk. It sounds like itd be a nice walk esp in good weather.

Have fun & goodluck!

We will be staying at PC and would like to know if you think we could walk to the Sports Complex. I have been told it may not be a safe walk.

Also is there a charge to get into the Sports Complex say to watch a college softball game?

Does anyone know if late checkouts are allowed at Pop Century? If so, do they charge for this and how much? Also, exactly where is the pool bar located?

the pool bar is right behind the back glass doors that take you to the pool from the lobby, down a few steps to the pool , on the right if you are facing the pool...at least I think this is the bar..I didn't order anything from it but do not recall them having an outside rest. and it is the only food service type place I saw outside period. sorry if this is wrong but now I am curious!

I'm glad someone gave some constructive help... My first thought was... "by the pool!" :teeth:

As far as checking out late, yes they allow it, and no I don't believe there is a charge. However, you need to request it when you check-in. They only allow so many people to check out late. We called the night before check-out and they wouldn't let us. Too many requests already.

Late Checkout is at 1:00pm. It is NOT always available, so don't count on being able to. After 1:00pm, there is a 50% room rate charge, and after 3:00pm, the full night rate is charged.

Just wanted to update some information with Pack 'n Plays that you can request from Housekeeping... I know some folks have wondered where to put them to keep them out of the way.

If you are not connecting with the room next to you, a great place is between the TV and the bathroom, right where the connecting door would be. It fits perfectly in there.

Another location that is out of the way, is right between the 2nd bed and the bathroom wall.

we are staying in july need 2 connecting rooms what are my chances of getting a king and double double connecting room ps we will be staying in the 60 building.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

How does the transportation work getting to other resorts for ps breakfast? Does it take you straight to the resort or to a park to get onto another resort bus?

Thanks,
Teresa

There are only a limited amount of King Bed rooms. Some will be disability accessible, meaning they have a shower only instead of a tub/shower combo. If this is a problem, you will want to notate that you need a standard king. My reccomendation is that you make those preferences when you book, 4 days out, and then again when you actually check in. The earlier in the day that you check in, the better the chances. King beds are not guaranteed, though.

A "Pack 'n Play" is a fold up crib that you can request at the resort.

Transportation -- Pop Century has direct buses to all four theme parks, both water parks and Downtown Disney. To get to another resort, you may need to transfer. For breakfasts, speak with the driver upon boarding, and he or she will help you get to your destination the best way possible. For MK Resorts, take the MK bus. For AK/AKL take the AK bus. For Epcot Resorts, take the STUDIOS bus.

what is pack and play please?

Here is a pic of a pack n play (courtesy of BRU.com).

Basically is a playpen. the floor is padded and trust me.. comfy b/c my DD slept it in while traveling until she was almost 2. you CAN buy pack n play sheets ( i recommend this) at Target, WalMart, BRU. I don't know.. I just feel better about that, esp since most babies sleep on their belly once they can roll over.

Anyway.. they work GREAT! Oh.. the ones at the POP probably wont have the upper level or the fun arch.. but you get the idea.

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I was wondering what days of the week are the busiest with check-ins and check-outs for WDW resorts? I was thinking those days could be a little less busy at the parks. Also, are there particular days of the week that are better for some parks than other days crowdwise? Thanks.

Does anyone happen to know if smoking is allowed poolside, or at the pool bar? I don't smoke, but will be traveling with 2 other couples and they do smoke. I found Disney's smoking policy on the internet, but I was wondering specifics about Pop Century.

Busiest days for Check Ins/Check Outs would be on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (Fridays are busy due to night time Florida Resident checkins)

Smoking -- As far as I know, smoking is allowed outside, but not in a pool area.

Maybe this has been asked before on one of the 49 other pages
I have a question about check-in. We arrive the weekend after Thanksgiving (where was my head?!~) and we come in at 9:00am
what do we do with our luggage and how do we get it after we come back from the parks that night? Thank you in avance for answering my questions? :earsgirl:

From the FAQ on the first page:

Upon arrival, Pop Century will offer Luggage Assistance for our guests. Not to be confused with "Bell Services" found at Deluxe resorts, Luggage Assistance will take your luggage, and store it while you enter the lobby and check in. Your luggage will then be automatically delivered to your room within an hour of it becoming available. You do not need to be in the room for luggage to be delivered, so you can go off and play in the parks. When you get back, your luggage will already be there. We will have refrigerators for food and medical usage. (All food *MUST* be factory sealed) We will also have a locked area for valuables such as laptops, cameras, and other electronics.

When checking out, we can come and pick up your luggage, and store it until you are ready to depart. We do ask that you give us a call the night before, to arrange a pick up time. If you call day of, we may not have any availability left. We require a minimum of one hours notice. Those of you who opt for Express Checkout will receive a voice mail reminding you of this option, as well as other Express Checkout info. By the way, the voice of Express Checkout is the same voice that does the Monorail Spiel.

You do not need to be in your room for drop off or pick up.

Should you wish to handle your own luggage, we offer the use of our hand carts. (Not the "bird cages," but push carts) Usage of the carts is free, however, we will require a credit card on file, should you decide to take one home as a souvenir. We also do ask that guests limit cart usage to 30 minutes, so that other guests may use them as well.

Is the late check out time the same all over WDW, or will it vary from Resort to Resort??

I beleive it's the same all over... Late Checkout has limited availability, and is at 1:00pm. After 1:00pm, there will be a charge of 50% of the rack rate. After 3:00pm, and there will be a charge of 100% of the rack rate.
