The All New Pop Century FAR OUT FAQ Thread!

I have posted this question over on the Transportation Forum as well, but thought that maybe someone in the know about PC might be able to help. Anyone?

"We are thinking of doing a one day rental (Alamo) from the airport. We arrive Saturday afternoon and thought we might go shopping (grocery and outlet mall) before we check in at Pop Century. My question is: Can we return our car to the CCC early Sunday morning and then continue on to MK for EMH? Are there shuttles that will take you to the MK Sunday AM, or back to Pop if we return it Saturday evening?"

Doubt that the Alamo desk opens quite that early. I just did a search to do that very thing, but Alamo charges $30 extra for a one way dropoff. You might check with National. They don't charge the same fee.

You could just drive the car to parking, do EMH, then for your mid day break, drop the car off at the CCC or Dolphin.

My DH and I rented a car for 1 day during our stay at POP from national. What I did was set to pick car up at CCC at 9a and drop it off the next day than continue onto MK. Alamo/national will send a shuttle to pick you up at your hotel and bring you to ccc, We had to call day before for shuttle but that was it, The next morning on way to our PS at CP we dropped car off at CCC than shuttle took us to TTC where we caught Monerail to MK. WE dropped car off around 8:30a.

Did anyone get a survey card in the mail after staying at POP? I did.

I will be staying at POP from 3/9 - 3/19
I would love to be facing the front of the resort but also look and see the lake. I was thinking a corner room. Anyone know a room number I would need to fill these request.

Does Pop Century do anything for people celebrating anniversaries? We will be celebrating our 5th there and I have heard that other resorts leave a card or balloon or something. Yes, I know it is not guranteed, but it would be a nice surprise for my wife if they did.

Mention it when booking your reservation, or at check-in.

Hi everyone! We leave for PoP TODAY and I'm so excited. I have one little question for Tyler, Joshua or anyone that has been there recently.
I know you can request a hair dryer from guest services, when you do request one, what "kind" of hair dryer is it, and can you keep it your entire stay? What I (ok, my DH) wants to know is if it's a teeny tiny travel hair dryer they give you?
Anyone, anyone??
Checking in tonight around 10pm barring any flight delays.... can't wait!!

I phoned housekeeping for a hairdryer, got one in 5 minutes(!) and just kept it during my stay at PC. It is a regular hairdryer, not a tiny travelthing. Ofcourse not a superfancy one, but it worked.
What's more to tell about a hairdryer:D ?
Have a wonderfull stay at PopCentury!:wave2:

Tyler - this is probably a good question for you!!

We have breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom at 8:05 AM for my DD FIRST birthday - can we get there from Pop Century or do we have to get our own transportation????

Please let me know!!

Thanks,
Lisa

oo! oo! oo! pick me! pick me!

Tyler happened to answer this before. Buses start running approx 30 min prior to the first priority seating and/or park opening. You should be fine riding the bus.

My wife and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at the POP in June. I was thinking of having Disney Florist deliver some "Happy Anniversary Balloons" to our room, that way for sure there will be a suprise, just a thought.

Anyone know this-

I have some mobility problems and find grab bars very handy (no pun intended) in most hotel tub/showers. I know I have read that WDW has some roll in showers for those that need them. Do they also have rooms with grab bars/hand rails in the bathrooms? Is there any way to make a request that makes it clear that I CAN mange without them? I know some people need them more than I do and we are going in early June, which I assume will be a busy time at PC. I don't want to feel like some one else who needs it more will do with out because I asked for this. Make sense? This is why I never take the last handicap parking space anywhere....

Yes! We do have standard tub/shower bathrooms that feature handrails and grab bars. These rooms are standard double rooms, and are identical to every other room, except they have the grab bars. (The rooms with the roll in shower have king beds)You can request them when making your reservation. Because it's a medical request, it will get a higher priority than a non-medical request.

By the way, I'm SOOOO happy, my new computer arrived a week early!!! YAAAAAY!!!!

So, I'm back online... although it'll take me a day or two to get everything set up. :)

:wave2: What a great job you did with this!!!!!! I have just started to plan a multi-family trip for 10/05 & we will stay here!!!
Thanks for all the info!!!!!!!!

But I just wanted to add, I've been so excited about our trip that I went and booked a pre vacation- mini trip for this weekend!
