What building did you stay in YR2000?? Does anyone know the phone # to call to request a room and how soon can we do that before we leave?? Can you walk along the lake, is it nice??

We stayed in the 90's Building. The building with the giant cell phone.

Do not have a number for you to call for room assigments. We just went their and took the room they had for us.

I did walk down to the lake hovever do not recall a pathway around it.

It is a very nice resort. We visited some of the other mid and luxury resorts but will go back to pop next time.

There is a walkway with benches that will eventually wrap all the way around Hourglass Lake, when the Legendary Years open up. For now though, "Memory Lane" just wraps around the Classic Years.

When I arrive at PC tomorrow to check-in, where should I park? Is there some kind of temporary lot near the entrance? Or do I park in one of the "decade" lots... and if so which one?

There is a lot that says "Check-In Parking" at the front entrance. You may park there to check in. When you check in, you will be given a map of the property, and they will show you where you should park for your building.

Sorry if I sounded "short" about the Coffee Maker comment, but, I thought you could "rent" a coffee Maker like you would a "refrigerator." I also thought that Coffee Makers WERE available at POP, but I guess I was mistaken. SORRY! I will make room for mine in my luggage. 29 days to GO!!!!

I was just wondering how the food court in POP handles food allergies? My ds has an allergy to peanuts and nuts, strawberries etc. Should I be phoning and talking to PC myself now or can it be handled upon check in? Also my mum is coming with us and has medication that requires refridgeration, is there a charge for a rental for this reason?

Do the bathrooms have the clothesline thing in the tub/shower area?

It's always best to have notification of allergies, in case we need time to get special ingredients, or preparation time. However, it really depends on the specific allergies. I'd recommend calling ahead of time, and speaking with a chef, and ask them.

As for the fridge... if it's for medical reasons as you described, there is no charge.

We just returned from a week at the PC a week ago. We arrived Dec 17 - 23. Check was very easy. Everyone so nice. The room was a nice size. We stayed in the the 70's section not close the the parking lot. We had luggage for four of us plus a small tv that the kids use to watch tv in the car. I have to say we stacked our suit cases next to the tv and on the side of the bed with plenty of room.

When you walk in the room you see a bed. To the left in our room was a table with two chairs. Next to that was an armoire with the tv. Our room had the adjoining room door. So we stacked our luggage here. Then we meet the vanity area and bathroom. Next to the bed closest to the wall by the bathroom was plenty of room to put small luggage and the tv from the car. There was also room in front of the window by the door for all the bags of goodies purchased in the park.

The only problem I had with the room was each morning I could hear the baby in the room next to ours crying. I think this was because of the adjoining door.

Where our room was it was a nice walk to the car to get the luggage. I would request a room closer to the parking lot. Which makes you closer to the bus pick area. I'm nost talking a really long walk but when you are carring in a lot of stuff it seems long.

I hope this is helpful.

We also ate one night in the food court. The food is wonderfull. They even have prepared foods. I got the tuna salad that night. I was a bit tired of the park food.

I would recomend express check out. When I went to check out and was Dec. 23 and the world was checking in and I had to stand in line to check even though I not owe anything.

Can't wait to get back to the world 2005.

Forgot something - we had the best maid. She made animals with the towels. I also left her tips and she appreciated that and would leave more animals.

Also, I left a note telling her we had four people in the room not three because for some reason we only received three face towels. Well she left a bunch of all the towels.

We had fun returning each evening to our room because she would leave the kids stuffed animals in the window or in different places in the room.

I just needed to tell Tyler: "Thank you!!!" I got online tonight specifically to ask for help deciding which resort to switch to because DH and I had read that PC is booked at or near capacity for the time we will be there, 4/03-4/10/04. we didn't want to deal with the nightmare we envisioned for check in, etc. while there. So we were going to switch to another place when I call for AP tomorrow morning. He convinced us both to stay right there and enjoy the newest WDW resort. It sounds so wonderful and the photo's are great, and wow...that food looks soooo good!

As always, it's my pleasure. We've been at 100% capacity for pretty much 2 weeks now, and aside from the parking lot challenge, I haven't seen any issues that would say "there's too many people here."
Chances are as well that if we're booked up, pretty much all the other resorts will be very busy as well. One thing to remember as well, is that Pop Century was designed to handle the crowds. We have 30 stations at our Front Desk, and although I have seen pretty long lines at the Front Desk, from what I've been told, the average wait for a double queue was never more than 20 minutes. (although 20 minutes may feel like an eternity after spending 10 hours travelling all day long)

The food court is fairly large, and I haven't heard about any problems with lines or finding seats.

I really wouldn't worry about it... just relax, you'll be on vacation.

I honestly never even thought I would consider staying at Pop Century until I read this thread, great job!

I do have two questions:

Do any of the pools have zero-entry ramps?

Does Classic Concoctions actually serve alcohol and/or lounge apetizers and what are the operating hours?

Hi! I'm staying at PC right now (using computer @ Disney Quest) and I thought I'd pop (ha ha ) in to answer the ? re: espresso and cappucino in the food court. They aren't included in refillable mug, espresso is $2.49 and cappucino is $2.99 for a rather small paper cup, it definately isn't your Venti capp from Starbucks. The coffee pretty much stinks. But I am enjoying a yummy vanilla latte at the moment.
The weather here has been perfect, high 70's and 80 every day. Pools are hoppin'. we are staying in 60's bldg, 1st floor smoking. The maid service has been great. No towel animals but she makes little containers out of the towels for our toothbrushes and soaps.
Feel free to ask ?s but I dont know if I'll be getting back on before we go home on Tuesday.
