Tyler where are you working these days.....

I'm mostly getting Luggage Dispatch shifts, with an occassional Luggage Trainer shift. However, starting last week of May (give or take) I'm being dragged to the front desk... :)

What is luggage dispatch?

When I was there a month ago, someone stood at the front with a clipboard and then another cast member came over to the towncar to see if we needed help unloading.

Whoever it was, he had a nice smile :D

Not sure who the clipboard person was... Dispatcher is the "leader" of sorts of the Luggage Runners... they dispatch out all the pickups in the morning, and all the check-ins throughout the day. A very strenuous job, but just my style.

Tyler...can you give me some idea as to how much a cab would cost from POP over The Swan??? And are they usually just sitting outside the main building or do we need to call for one?

It's not far, so I'd imagine less than $10 with tip...

I just booked my stay yesterday! Now I can't wait to stay there for my :bday: trip!!!!

Hope to see ya there Tyler!

Tink

It would be totally awesome to be checked in by you Tyler! I bet a lot of us would wait longer just to get you. You are the star of this board!

I know Tyler answered this, but let me add a little more. We took a cab from the Boardwalk to Pop. The Boardwalk is very close to the Swan. It cost us about $7. It was definitely worth the money to take the cab. I know at the Swan there were plenty of cabs waiting to take people places, but this was later at night. I know I saw cabs sitting at Pop, but I don't know if it was all of the time.

Thank you for the taxi cab info! I think it will be quicker and easier to use this type of transportation to get over to the swan!

Hi everyone, I just returned from a week at POP. My family and I really enjoyed this resort and would definitly stay here again. Rooms were fine and very clean, in fact I found the whole place to be very clean. The hippy dippy pool was great , my kids loved it. I thought the resort was very bright and cheerful, didn't seem to be to crowded although the parks were! We had no problem finding a table at the pool daily. Food court was good but did get very busy at breakfast time. Buses ran fine hardly waited at all. Even the buses back from the parks were quick. Overall I really enjoyed this resort, we had a great time. I wish I was there right now!! Hope you all have wonderful and magical trips!!!

Tyler, i know this has been asked before but can't seem to remember the answer. Is it appropriate to tip the luggage handler CM and if so, are they allowed to accept it.

Tyler, may I ask you a couple of questions based on your "purple pants" days?Do buses run from DTD to the parks or only to the resorts. Also,if a day guest wanted to look at the WL,are they allowed to use the WL boat from MK?Could a day guest use the resort bus from AK to the AK Lodge to check it out.Or,is all resort transportation technically only for resort guests.I always stay on property;I am just curious.Thanks.

Hi,

Yes. My trip begins in just two days. Pop Century I'm coming!
I'v one question. Maybe someone who allready stayed there is able to answer.

Is there a radio in the room? I know there is a TV, but sometimes I like to just listening to a radio station.
Last year I stayed at Coronado Springs and there was a clockradio. I allready read that there should be alarm clocks in the rooms, but are that also radios at Pop Century?
If not, I will bring my own.

Thank you for answering.

Luggage Assistance differs from Bell Services in that we're not a on-demand tipped position. We work in scheduled runs, departing on the half hour.

The benefit is that you don't need to be in your room for your luggage to be delivered or picked up... you can head off to the pools, the parks, or the food court. The downside is that we're not on-demand... instead, luggage gets delivered to your room generally less than an hour of your room becoming available. Or, you would have to call the night before to schedule a pick up time. If you call day of, it's still possible, but you reduce the chances of having a pick up time that fits your schedule.

At any rate, to answer the original question... LOL... being a non-tipped (standard hourly wage) position, a tip is neither expected, nor neccessary. However, Luggage Assistance CMs are allowed to accept a tip, should you desire to.
