Also I was just recently accepted for the WDW College Program. I leave Aug 30th and get back Jan 5th. My family has decided to come and visit me (there first trip ever to disnay!) (Can you tell I'm excited?). Anyway just had to add my 2 cents and let Tyler know he is doing an awesome job and he really should get comission on all this business he is thriving with the excitement he puts into this.
If anybody is able to pm me with advice about booking a Thanksgiving trip please help a girl out -- My family is going to consist of 6 adults and 2 children (2yrs and 7yrs) flying in and an aunt who lives about a hour away who will probably stop by.... I'm in charge of all the booking!!! AHH!! Help!!!

The Kiddie Pool is located near the Hippy Dippy pool, and the Pop Jet pool is located between the 60's and 70's.

CB-I think it'll be worth it to buy the cups if you're big soda/coffee drinkers. We were there for 3 nights in March, and got 2. I used mine alot,,for coffee, mainly,,but dh only used his twice i think. We were at the parks alot for our meals,,and he didn't want a soda first thing in the a.m. If you'll be around the hotel alot,,it'd be worth it. I also brought ours to the parks,,we'd fill them w/cold water which was great. They're neat mugs. I got the narrow bottomed one for myself,as it fits in my cars cup holder.

Hey Tyler, have you seen the recent posts from the CM who wants to give everyone the inside scoop on their trip? He says that faxing requests to the resort is a waste, that they are discarded unless it is a concierge resort. Any truth to this?
Thanks

Have a thirteen year old boy,can anyone tell me what the arcade is like? Do you think he will like it?

My boys 11, 10 loved it...he has a number of the ticket redemption games...and other stuff like the riding motorcycle video game...

Ok Im getting close and I have 2 questions, one is my 2.5 year old has asthma and we are bringing our nebulizer for her, the medicine for it needs to be stored in a fridge once the seal has been broken, my question is this, do I need to bring a dr's note to get a fridge with out paying the $10 a day?

Should I call or fax to make sure we get the right room location?

Well, actually, what he said was that it was a waste if you fax them too soon. With our current archaeic property management software (dating back to 1980), we're separate from CRO. They download the reservations to us once a week, so we only have the reservations 4-10 days out, give or take. If we get a fax before the reservation is downloaded, theres nothing we can do.

Each resort back office is different in how they work...

Another question about room requests

Would it be a good idea to fax them twice, first at 8 days out and again at 4, or would this make us seem like pains?

When you make the reservation tell them and tell them it is medically nessisary. If it is for medical reasons I don't think there is a charge, ask when you make the reservations.

We just returned from our stay at Pop 4/23-5/2 and it was GREAT! We stayed in the 70's, near the Mickey phone. I will definitely be returning to this resort!

Someone asked earlier about digital photos... I went to Walgreens almost daily, to download my photos to a cd. It was only 3.99, and not too far to drive. There are Walgreens ALL over the place, and if anyone needs directions, feel free to pm me. Basically, the closest 2 are 1) near Crossroads @ DTD & 2) near Gaylord Palms. You just pop your memory in, download, and can usually be out within 5 minutes. (We didn't stay to pick up the cd...why waste time? ;) )

I didn't plan to get the drink mug, but we did and it was well worth it for our 9 night stay. I would definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Tyler. But, I think I may have seen him before I left yesterday morning, as I was packing my van! Thanks for all of your great info. Tyler! ::yes::

Actually he said "Don’t Ever Fax The Non Concierge Resorts With Your Request" and added that 99.9% of the time they are received too soon and they can't do anything about them. My belief is that guests usually learn about faxing the resorts via web sites and boards like DIS and they all recommend faxing 3-4 days in advance. Is that a good time to fax?

Yes, that would be an okay time frame, as long as they are faxed with the understanding that requests cannot always be honored. It's also a good idea to prioritize, so the assignor knows whats more important.

Thank you Tyler! I usually make only one or two requests (top floor and a list 2 or 3 buildings I prefer). I do include a statement in the fax saying that I completely understand that they are requests and cannot be guaranteed. Because my requests haven't been too specific they are usually granted. The only time I can think of when they weren't was at Caribbean Beach 3 years ago but we checked in at 1am!

Okay, I thought I'd try to send in a room request---if I get it then great, if I don't, that will be okay too. But my one question is we will be checking in on Sunday May 9. I will only have access to a fax machine on Wednesday (tomorrow). Do you think that will be okay since that is five days prior?

If I recall correctly, reservations get downloaded into the system on Tuesday night (on the overnight)... So Wed would be just fine. :)

Why do you need to fax a room request if you have already had it noted on your reservation at the time of booking?Do the room assignors not pay any attention to room requests on the actual reservation? Thanks!:D

You shouldn't need to... but I guess some feel the need to reiterate what they would like, which is fine.

I have never had them pay any attention whatsoever to my room request location on the reservation. I have even faxed without success. This applies to AKL and ASMo. When I first stayed at PC in Dec. it was only for one night and decided to let them surprise me since requesting at other resorts didn't get me what I wanted. Now for my May 8 stay at PC I requested 1950's (my mom's fave) so we'll see if they deliver.

Forgive me all but the following does not regard Pop specifically.

Tyler, how were the finals?
