Does anyone know if I can request a specific room? We are staying club level and are wondering which room we should ask for. I read somewhere that room 3503 is a good one.

Any suggestions?

I would not request a certain room by number. Instead request what you want - 3rd floor (due to balcony usually), 1st floor (gets you the patio), closest to lounge, etc.

If you have paid for the park view, you will be on that side of the building and MOST of the views should be good - a few may have trees somewhat obscuring the views.

We were in 1503 last trip and that was a pretty good view - I think 3503 would be better as the beach swing was in front of our room and a few palm trees. We stayed in 1501 previously, which is right next to the check in area (but separated by a wall and door) - it had a good view, but a bush in front of the patio that you had to walk through to get to the beach. But still given that info, I wouldn't request a particular room, but more the things you're trying to accomplish - get a balcony, whatever.

Yes, as I mentioned in my post, I have decided on telling management about these pool hoppers. But I do feel it will "fall on deaf ears". They obviously know the problem exists. It's far too obvious to believe otherwise. Also, I'm not going to go running to management to report people while they are there because there have been children involved and I do not believe in embarrasing them or their parents (in front of them) no matter how irritated I am at the situation. It should not be that difficult for the Poly management to come up with some preventative solution to this problem.

As far as the Poly logo stuff. There's really only a handful of new designs, at least new since our last visit last Summer. One has Mickey, Donald, and Goofy twirlling fire, another has an island motif and Poly lettering. Anyway, they are all popular enough that only the small sizes are still available. Thats the annoying part. New Poly merch is hard enough to come by (much harder than it should be imho) but to have it all displayed but only available in small and medium is just plain aggravating!

Well hopefully their mangament will do something and if more people like you complain maybe they will see this problem is not going to go away.

Also thanks for the better description of their logo stuff. I only have one Polynesian shirt that I got back a few years ago which is a grey with their logo on the front and back. I also had a shirt in blue with the same logo on the front, however the back the was different because it had some fire design with the chracters. The only problem is that shirt got destroyed while it was being washed and I have not found a good one to replace it.

I agree because everyone seems to say the less requests the better chances you have of getting them, if they are very simple. When my family and I stayed Club Level at the Polynesian in December 2007 we ended up on the 3rd floor in room 3510 which had a clear direct view of Cinderella's Castle and it was great.

But now you have me freaked out! If you call exactly 90days in advance, why should it be so hard to get into Ohana for dinner!?!?! If we can't eat there, I think I'll FLIP my LID!

I called 90 days out and could't get a ar until 8:50 at night. I keep calling back everyday and after 30 calls later i got one for 5:05.

That's really too bad about the pool hopping. I've read here about how crowded the pool can be. It's a shame that those who pay good money to stay there and use the pool have to share it with those who haven't paid good money to stay there. Even worse - sharing it with those who aren't even staying at a Disney property at all! I'm not going till December and I kind of doubt the pool would be super crowded that time of year - but you never know, eh? If it seems there are people there who aren't staying at Poly, you can bet your patooty I'm going to complain to the manager about it. Heck, there are some other pools at Disney I'd love to try out but I would NEVER actually do it.

Anyone know if there are other options at CC for breakfast other than then handful of things listed? I think on All Ears there is about 5 items for bkfst. Is that truely correct?? Anyone happen to have taken pix of the menu board there?

My DF and I will be spending our honeymoon at the Poly in Oct and I've been reading a lot about people watching the fireworks from the beach at the Poly.

Are there a lot of people who do this? How crowded can we expect the beach to be? Any chance we'll be able to sit alone, away from the crowds and enjoy a nice romantic evening on the beach, watching the fireworks?

My DF and I will be spending our honeymoon at the Poly in Oct and I've been reading a lot about people watching the fireworks from the beach at the Poly.

Are there a lot of people who do this? How crowded can we expect the beach to be? Any chance we'll be able to sit alone, away from the crowds and enjoy a nice romantic evening on the beach, watching the fireworks?

I haven't been to the Poly (yet) but this sounds like an absolutely perfect evening to me! I hope your wish comes true and you find a private spot to view Wishes!

QUESTION: How "far otu of the way" is it to get from TTC to CC's (to refill our mugs) on the way back to our room? I'm guessing it's often better to get the Monorail or bus back to TTC rather than to Poly or maybe it just depends on what Longhouse you're at? I'm requesting Tokelau if that makes any difference.

Another question - I put in a request for Tokelau bldg with the travel agent but I'm thinking maybe I should follow up directly with the Poly on my own. Is there a special way I can make my requests directly with them?? Thanks again!

When I stayed there in December 2007 I don't remember seeing that many people on the beach during Wishes, although I didn't look that long to see. However since their beach is very big chances are you can find a spot to sit alone at.

I found the walk from the TTC to the main building takes around 10 minutes, so I guess it depends on which Longhouse you are staying in.

As for your other question if you made a reservation with a travel agent they own the reservation until your check-in day, so any requests you have can not be made by yourself.

Before I have to read through 160 pages on this thread can someone tell me if the Poly room safes will hold a laptop? I'm getting yes and no answers and I can't remember how big/small the safes are from my last visit (no computer needed on that trip!)

The new safes seem to be designed for laptops. They have touch pads not keys now....not sure how long ago you stayed.

They don't have yogurt out in the morning. However, it's available if you ask someone working in the lounge. My wife gets yogurt every morning. She just told me that Yoplait Strawberry yogurt is the only kind they have.

I'm just trying to see if it will hold one. Some say yes, others say no (to keep it at the safes at the front desk).

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Funny, I mentioned doing this exact same thing a while ago when this topic was being discussed in here. Some posters actually disagreed and said that people wouldn't want to wear wristbands. If another resort already implements this policy and it means stopping the pool hopping I don't see why it would be such an issue. It wouldn't take much for management to prevent non-paid "guests" from using the facilities that they have no right to be in.

We didn't have a "pool day" today so I did not get a chance to speak to the manager. We spent the day at DHS, had a great time. Anyway, "people won't want to wear them" is a terrible argument for not having resort guests wear bracelets. Small price to pay to reduce the overcrowding in the Volcano Pool.

Thank you for the information! I am really hoping for kona wings, but if they aren't serving them we can order them somewhere else in the Resort I am sure. I believe we had them in the Kona Cafe last visit. 19 more days until our trip! YAHOO!

This past Saturday they did have the Kona wings. They are claiming that there is no set menu but it's been exactly the same at it was the past couple of years. Anyway, Saturday's offerings were awesome, one of my favorites!
1. Kona Sticky Wings
2. Kona Curry Shrimp Soup
3. Luau Mixed Greens with Mango-Poppyseed dressing

The shrimp soup is killer! I even mentioned to Chef Dick that I literally could not stop eating the stuff. I had 4 bowls of it! Also Chef Dick told us that the Kona Sticky Wings are different than the ones served at Kona Cafe. This is his own special recipe. They are darned good wings.

We didn't have a "pool day" today so I did not get a chance to speak to the manager. We spent the day at DHS, had a great time. Anyway, "people won't want to wear them" is a terrible argument for not having resort guests wear bracelets. Small price to pay to reduce the overcrowding in the Volcano Pool.

I agree that bracelets are the best thing to tell who are guests of that specifc resort and who is not staying there. Plus I am sure no one would not be forced to wear it any other times expect when they are going to the pool. Although let's say the Polynesian and all the other Magic Kingdom Monorail Resorts did make the bracelets a policy, what about DVC members who are allowed to pool hopp during specific times of the year? For example let's say there are some DVC members who want to swim at the Polynesian and they call ahead and are told it's ok and after they got there the pool got so busy where some Polynesian guests could not get chairs, should the lifeguards ask the DVC members to leave because they would not have the bracelets and because they were not staying at the Polynesian? So I think that's where it gets complicated because what if they mentioned how they were given the all clear to swim there, since they would not be doing anything illegal. Now if that were to happen I would think the lifeguards would take the side of guests staying at the Polynesian over guests not staying there, even though they were doing nothing wrong.

The laptop we brought does not fit in the safe. And our's is not a large laptop. I don't feel particularly worried about locking it up anyway. We just put it in one of our luggage pieces.
