I can't imagine that people would think it's tacky. I think it's a fabulous way for your family to celebrate. Anyway, it's less that the poly would have to shell out if you're not drinking their wine.
If you are concerned why don't you email IPO to check.
My main concern really wasn't so much that it would be considered tacky by others as would the Poly allow it. So I think I will take you up on your suggestion about contacting them directly (one of those "duh!" moments when I read your post)
Thanks!
This was not us brining any of our own Wine, however in the past my mom was has brought some of her own Cereal which are not offered in the lounge and no one said anything about doing that or it being frowned upon.Hey everyone! We went to Magic Kingdom for the day for my dd's 7th birthday. (very whirlwind trip there and back, but had a great time!)
We decided to head over to the Poly to check it out and I am now sooo stinkin' excited I can't stand it!!
I have another question about the concierge lounge. My parents (and my sister and BIL as well) are VERY into wine and usually bring a bottle or two of their special collection when they go on vacation. Especially when the whole family is together.
I was wondering if it would be frowned upon if they brought their own bottle into the lounge for the family to drink. I don't drink wine so I don't really care, but was just wanting some opinions. I could see where some might consider tacky, but I also think it would better to share it there as opposed to everyone gathering in one room. Oh and everyone is staying club level so it's not like they would be sneaking anyone in, just to clarify.

Bit of a tangent: how much is a lapu lapu?
approx $14
Yes. $1 a box.
Thanks! I have this vision of the five of us checking in, me going to buy them for us and sitting around just relaxing. Just trying to budget LOL. Thanks!

That's what I would say. They may have a policy against brinigng in your own booze or wine.
I have to concur w/this... definately check w/the Poly before hand. State laws vary, but you have to consider the different "open container" and "corking" rules in every state. The folks @ the Poly will know exactly what can/can not be done so that no one gets in trouble.
Try and think of every little thing you might need while away, so that you don't waste a lot of time and money on things you could've brought from home. Sunscreen, goggles, visor/hat, sunglasses, ponchos, flip flops, magazines/books, snacks to have in the room, (last trip I drove off-site to the nearby Whole Foods) wet wipes, etc. I bring quarters and laundry soap for doing laundry, as well as a tote bag for laundry. I bring my own coffee and filters and buy milk from the resort's food court. I also bring a small pair of scissors, playing cards...
Good luck and have fun!
I just made the mistake of reading a thread about people who've had snakes in their rooms at DW!
At a glance (it was like a trainwreck, I knew I shouldn't be LOOKING at that thread but I couldn't stop myself!!!) I didn't notice any from Poly but I had to come here to ask you all! Please, please be honest - has anyone had a snake in their room and/or bed?? Or lizards in your sheets? Roaches???
I used to live in Florida - grew up in Clearwater - and roaches were pesky. But I have never seen a lizard or snake inside! I would absolutely pee myself and die! Maybe best to request upper floor???
