I'm heading to the Poly soon, and I'm already thinking about :drinking1 in the CL-I love the fruit punch they have out in the evening :)

We're getting close to our 45 day mark.. I think I'll hit AAA today and pay off our trip!!!

Have a wonderful time you guys!!! :sunny:

Thanks Terry! We had fun with that Pout picture. I have received two of those passholder 40% discounts this year--a first and second ever! :lmao: I hear ya' though--the college bill thing does put a damper on Disney traveling! ;)

We are headed back in September though for an adults only visit and using one of those 40% discounts! After that, I'm not sure if we will be back for a while.

Good seeing you and hope you feel better.

Thanks, Tess! I'm trying to put a short trip together for the third week of September. Same thing here; if we don't go this fall then I don't know the next time we'd be going since we have 2 cruises booked for 2010. :confused3

We'll be leaving for FLA in a couple of days but won't be checking into the Poly CL until 06/24. We drive down to FLA and spend a couple of days before and after Disney with my Mom and Dad in The Villages. I guess that makes my countdown a little bit inaccurate but I consider us on vacation as soon as the Family Truckster rolls out of the driveway (and yes, I did order it in the Metallic Pea!) :thumbsup2

I hope you both have a great time! Please post your CL experiences when you get back. I'm interested to hear about recent stays. I'm patiently (ok maybe that's a slight exaggeration:lmao:) anticipating out Aug trip. Just paid off the balance!!

OT, but huntconn we were in the Villages last year and did a short side trip to Disney as well. That was my first time there (my in-laws recently became snow birds) I thought it was such a cool place. Lots for everyone to do.

Just can't sleep, it's getting soooo close!!! Anyone else checking in at the Poly this weekend club-level???

I'm not but I wish I was! LOL I hope you have a wonderful time!!! :)

Have a great time on your vacation, Clark!! :lmao: I have the theme song from Family Vacations on my web site.

I am bouncing off the walls since we'll be at WDW in a little over 36 hours and will be dining at the Poly on Friday night (Kona Cafe). Confirmed with my Aunt last night that she and my uncle and my cousin will be joining us for dinner at 'Ohana on Sunday for Father's Day!

I am still :lmao::rotfl: about the 'Family Truckster'. That's what I call my SUV. I told DD this morning as soon as school lets out tomorrow we're all piling in the Family Truckster to drive down to the airport.

Enjoy your trip!

We call my DH's truck the "Family Truckster" too! Have an awesome time!! I'll be thinking of you Friday night being at the Kona Cafe!! :cloud9:

Thanks for the best wishes everyone. I'm sure we'll have a blast and I hope everyone else who is heading down soon does as well. Thinking I may post a couple of live updates while I'm down there if anyone would be interested. I did it last year and really had fun with it.

Live updates would be great Thank You:goodvibes. Enjoy your trip wow only 3 days away:yay:

We are staying Aug 9 to 16th. Called this morning to change my 'Ohana AR 8:55. I got an 5:05. I've tried to change it for the past month but no luck. Today is going to be a great day I can feel it.

I agree with you. The 180 mark made it seem closer. I have to wait until Sept. 6, 2010 for my ADR's.

OOPS, you just reminded me, I have clothes that need to go in the dryer.

Did you all see... you can now book your ADR's online!! :yay: Go to Disney site, discover tab, dining and each individual restuaraunt will have a "Make Your Reservation" button.

Even though I booked my ADR's for this summer already... I had to try it out!
What's one more ADR...:rotfl:

And did you notice that the site works about as well as all of its other components. . .:rotfl2:? Honestly, it asks you to put in your hotel reservation number then indictates "not found", asks you to update your profile with your AP# but loops back to the same page telling you to put in the same information, asks you to take a survey and gives you a 404 "not found" page. . .classic Disney website issues. I think I will be sticking to actual telephoning. :sad2:

Thanks MsStinkerBelle. I think all of us Dis'ers have a bit of Clark Griswold in 'em , don't you think?

Wholeheartedly agreed! I know when I saw the new castle LED lights 2 Christmases ago, I was thinking they were Clark W. Griswold-type lighting. Started tearing up like he did in Christmas Vacation.

I know they are poking fun at us Disney nuts but it's really sweet at the same time. I think that scene really sums up how wonderful and dorky (at the same time) our love for Disney World is. :thumbsup2

Yeah, that definitely sums it up. Plus I thought that they made Mr. Wally look like Walt Disney 'on purpose'! Love that moment between him and Clark, especially when he talks about driving the family to Florida and how that stank. :rotfl:

LOL, thanks! It's a bummer not being able to stay at the Poly this time but we'll be crashing it like we are. :lmao: I'll have a Lapu Lapu in your honor.

awww... sorry Tess. It worked just fine for me :confused3

So today I hit my 30-day mark! I made a countdown calender for my office with a picture of the Poly sign and a couple of Lapu-Lapu's. My ADR's are made and I cannot wait to get there!!!!:cool1:

Glad to hear it. . .did you get everything you wanted? The ADRs aren't open for my dates yet, but I do wonder if it rolls over the dates at 12:01 a.m.? It might be the only way to get a Le Cellier ADR during the "free dining" craze happening while we are there. It is actually one of the few ADRs we will even make.

I was playing with it last night (without benefit of my res information or updated profile AP information ;) ) and couldn't "hypothetically" book anything for 9/14/09 (the last date available for booking at this time). Hope that is not going to be the case when I book for real in another week or so. :scared1:

Can anyone tell me how difficult (or easy) it is to find laundry machines available to use? (Recently stayed at a beach resort and while there was a set of machines on each floor, they were ALWAYS being used and it got frustrating trying to get laundry done) How is the laundry facility set up? Is it all in one room or in the different longhouses? And are they pretty plentiful? Any idea what the cost is to use them? Thinking it'd be nice to pack LIGHT and do some laundry half-way through the trip while the kids are napping!

ALSO - if I ship a box down there with snack foods, how would I label it so that they hold it at the front desk for us? And do they charge extra for holding it for us?

THANKS!!

I've been following what's going on with the new system over on the restaurant board - the first stickied thread about ADR's ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2205963&page=34 ). Some posters who tried it this morning have said that the system reloads at 6:01 am.

Very easy to find the laundry machines as they are located in the same building as the Neverland Club. :goodvibes To be exact it is around to the far right side of that building. I'm just going on memory here but there has to be about 20 washers and 20 dryers. The washers are around one part and in the middle of the room, while the dryers are all up against a wall.

I believe it's about $2 to wash and $2 to dry but folks here will correct me if I'm off. :thumbsup2

I've been doing this and I LOVE it! Usually DD is at the Neverland Club during my 'wash night'. There are lots of comfy chairs in the laundry as well as a TV.

ALSO - if I ship a box down there with snack foods, how would I label it so that they hold it at the front desk for us? And do they charge extra for holding it for us?

Make sure to put your reservation number and dates of stay on the package. :thumbsup2 I'm not sure if they charge extra or not.

Hope that helps!

See http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2205963 for discussion on glitches. For most, the system seems to be working.

In just 2 months, we'll be checking in at the Poly for the very first time!!!!:cool1:

Congratulations on your first visit to the Poly...I'm sure it won't be your last!

Have a wonderful vacation MsStinkerbelle! School is out for me today and I thought of you every time I saw a plane fly overhead knowing you're leaving soon! I love that you're "crashing" the Poly. For our next trip, I considered staying the whole week at WL or at the CR in a garden wing and "crashing" myself, but my DD would not hear of it! So we finally decided together on a few nights at the POFQ and onto our favorite Poly

Thanks MsStinkerBelle. I think all of us Dis'ers have a bit of Clark Griswold in 'em , don't you think? I'll tell you, I think my favorite scene in Vacation is when the family is driving and they start singing the Wally World National Anthem. Clark is getting choked up, Ellen is singing with absolute reverance, and the kids are just having fun singing in the backseat forgetting (for a moment) how "uncool" the song is. I know they are poking fun at us Disney nuts but it's really sweet at the same time. I think that scene really sums up how wonderful and dorky (at the same time) our love for Disney World is. :thumbsup2

It's funny that you used the word dorky about our love for WDW. My friends at work just don't understand my love for WDW and especially the Poly. I talk about it all the time and I'm always spewing my interesting facts I learn on the dis, like what weeks are busy and what weeks to avoid (one of my friends was planning on going in Nov next year because she thought it was slow and I asked her when and I told her that was Jersey Week. Well the whole room just looked at me and laughed and they called me a dork. Well, there it is. I am a WDW junkie and I am a dork. There, I said it. I am glad I am in good company with other dorks like you guys! :grouphug:

For those of you leaving soon, have a wonderful trip, may your weather be cooperative, and may you be sprinkled with pixie dust. I'll look forward to hearing all about it when you return. I love that there are always people on this Poly thread who are leaving...we can always live vicariously through you until it's our turn again! :thumbsup2

Hi all!! Getting very excited about our upcoming stay at the Poly!!!! So what exactly is a 'lapu lapu' and what are these great pancakes I am hearing about at Kona?

Have a wonderful time you guys!!! :sunny:

:cool1::dance3:I'm starting to get excited:dance3:
Almost done with:teacher: for the year. My DD and are going to have so much fun! I've always wanted to be in WDW when I turned 50party:
