Driving down from beautiful Slapout, Alabama (exactly halfway between Flea Hop and Possum Trot for those of you unfamiliar with Slapout ) the second week in June this year -- me, the missus, 7yo son, and twin 4yo (by then) daughters.

This'll be our fifth trip down as a family (I also went twice with my family as a child, and my wife and I went once back while we were dating) and our first time trying out one of the value family suites (@ AS-Music).

Really looking forward to it, as usual.

Here's a pic of the young'ns from our last trip, this past June:

I've updated everything on page 1. I know how the snow/ice day changes go! We had three snow days last week and I think I made at least 10 changes to our plan. :)

Since I have nothing more to plan for our trip in June, I've spent much of my day planning our anniversary trip for next year ;) Keep going back and forth about what we want to do, but thinking a Disney cruise is going to win out over Jamaica. Whoot!

Mindy..I've started to plan our 10th anniversary trip too. We really want to do Disney without the kids. I know...we can't get away from Disney. I was torn about going without the kids at first, but I think that they would enjoy staying with my mom for a week (it would be their only little vacation too). I have always wanted to do a cruise. Here's to hoping that Disney comes out with some good deals for fall 2012 so we can book our trips. :thumbsup2

Glad to find this thread. I have a surprised trip planned for June (since it's a surprise, I can't put a countdown timer in my signature :guilty:)

We will be at Pop for free dining May 30 - June 6...thinking of seeing if we can extend to the 7th or 8th...

It'll just be me and my dd10

ksloane, I added you to our list. Sounds fun. I would love to be able to surprise my kids, but I can not keep my excitement for Disney a secret....we talk about Disney way too much in our house and I know it would slip out. Welcome! :cheer2:

We are probably going to just do a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. We've never cruised before, so I have no idea if we will like it or not. I'd like to also get to maybe WL the night before and have some park time. My oldest has already said that he only wants to go to WDW. Good thing WE are deciding on this trip.

Maybe we'll see you on board!

It's because we talk about Disney all the time and stay on the Disboards etc that I think I'm able to plan the surprise without her knowing. she thinks nothing of seeing me on disboards or looking at Disney stuff. :)

I did the Disney Cruise for my 10th anniversary! It was awesome. We have done 4 Disney cruises....we absolutely love them. My 20th is next year....maybe another DCL cruise in my future:banana:

We just scored another snow day tomorrow....we are completely iced in. The natives are growing restless. Hopefully won't be making anymore changes!:rotfl:

I wish we would have another snow day. I am as bad as my kids at school. :rotfl:

I might have to ask you for some advice as it gets closer. We are still not sure what we are going to do. We thought maybe cruise, Disney, or we went to Hawaii ten years ago for our second honeymoon (our first was to Disney of course) and we have thought about going back there too. I guess we still have some time to plan.

I'm a teacher and know the feeling. I've been wishing for a weather day...I don't think we'll even get a late start day though....:rolleyes1

:) I made it sound like we never get snow days...lol. I really can't complain we had 3 in a row last week leading into a weekend and we had a delay this morning. They were calling for ice here in the morning, but changed it to just rain....the teachers in the school were so sad.

For me it is always a cruise! Personally, I think it is one of the BEST ways to vacation. We have cruised on RCL, Carnival, and Disney...we will be on NCL this summer. Disney wins hands down...then again I am a little biased when it comes to their entertainment....regardless...it is an awesome experience...a very unique one. If you have any questions...ask!

Looks like there is lots of cruising experience here to pull from. I'll be looking for you all while I plan our cruise.

My husband just bought our tickets today. We usually fly Southwest, but for our original plans, SW was charging over $1200! I called my husband crying, thinking we wouldn't be able to go. He told me to calm down, that we'd work it out.

And he DID work it out. By switching our arrival to a day earlier, and switching to Airtran, we saved almost $500 on airline fares. Then, we booked an extra night at Port Orleans. Even after Airtran's fees and the extra night at the hotel, we come out ahead $200, AND we get an extra night at Disney. It worked out for the best. :)

Well, except that I don't like Airtran. But knowing that Disney World is at the end of the trip should make it more bearable.

(Have I told you this story before? Can't remember!)

We flew airtran last year and had no problems. they were on time and very accomodating, they swithced our flight to a day earlier because of a snowstorm and didn't charge us any fees. So overall it was a good experience and I'm wishing the same for you. pixiedust:

I've been pricing out airtran and US Air and right now US Air is $932 for a family of four and that's including baggage fees so I'm thinking that is good but I'm on the fence if I should wait for something better.
