Well, just earned our third weather day for tomorrow. We have rolling blackouts because of the enormous amount of energy being consumed...this is Texas...we just don't do cold well. It is 17 degrees right now and is supposed to be 7 degrees tonight....I am ready for winter to be done!!!!

Finally, the kids have a full day of school. I hope that little groundhog was right yesterday and that spring will come soon! Then it will be time to head to Disney.

I've been going back and forth about seeing if I could push my trip back a few days in case they extend the school year or just say "forget about it", it's not like the kids are missing that much in school, just end of the year pizza parties and stuff.

I know how you feel. We don't get out until June 16th here in MD, but if we get any more snow days that put them onto the end of the year and we leave on the 23rd. I hate feeling like we are cutting it so close, but what can you do? No one has any idea how bad a winter will be necessarily when you pre-plan a vacation.

Mind if I join in here? I know I'm a bit late to the game! I'll do my best to catch up or at least visit often to check in here.

More details can be found in my June 2011 link in my siggy which takes you to my pre-trip report here. However right now we have plans to be in Disney June 15th to June 25th...for now. We are DVC members and are staying in a 1BR Lakeview at Bay Lake Towers! Can't wait...our first stay at this resort!

In our travel party we also have my husband's parents and his sister and her family - her hubby and son. So that's 6 adults and four kids age 6 to 11 at time of travel.

I'm a big planner and of course have tons of ADRs...which I've changed many many times. I really feel like the current ones are what I am keeping though!

We will be driving to Florida from Maryland...second time making that drive with three kids after many trips by plane, but really trying to save money this time around. Tickets are already going to cost a fortune...and we are hoping to also do two days in the Universal parks since our kids have never been there.

Right now our goal is to get my youngest two kids up to 48 inches so they can ride more stuff this time! This will be my youngest child's first time to ride Space Mountain and BTMRR and he's REALLY looking forward to trying Expedition Everest too. I'm not sure he'll be up for Mission: Space as he doesn't do spinning rides too well...like me...but we'll see and maybe do the easy side instead since we've never done that!

Can't wait to read about everybody else's plans. From what I've glanced over, many of us are east coasters getting slammed with snows and biting our nails about snow days. Our situation is that we have been pretty fortunate in Maryland so far...many big storms have skirted by us. We have used 2 of our 4 built in snow days at the end of our school year right now. But last February was our BIG snow year...and I was sure we'd use NONE this year which is why the trip right now is planned for us to leave on the day they currently are supposed to get out of school with four snow days. We leave on a Wed, they get out right now on Monday having used two of the four days.

So fingers crossed we continue to get luck with the weather, but I think this weekend there are reports of some possible nastiness coming our way again. Weekends won't bother us though for the school stuff.

Hi! I'm Angie. We are heading to WDW May 28th- June 4. Staying at Beach Club and can't wait. I made all my ADR's but have been tweaking them lol. We have 4 kids dd14, ds 12, ds 4, ds, 2. We are driving to from Texas unless we change our mind. I'm dreaming of warmer weather since it's FrEEZING right now and my heater went out yikes!

Ok so DH and I have decided to upgrade our DDP so I have a few more ADRs to add to our list. I orginally didn't want to do to many, but the more I looked on these boards and the more we talked about it we decided to change. So here are our new ADRs:

6/21-La Hacienda @ 7:00a.m.
6/23-Hollywood and Vine @ 8:25a.m.
6/23-50s Prime Time @ 3:00p.m.
6/24-Tusker House @ 8:30a.m.

We got our Vacation Planning DVD in the mail today. We have two from previous trip, but I love getting things in the mail from Disney! I'm going to make our free maps sometime this month! And then Disney will sent all our check in info!!! I love it, it makes it seem so close. Plus it is fun to hear my kids yelling at the T.V. with excitement for all they dream to do on this trip!

Welcome to my fellow Marylander! We also have avoided a lot of the snow, but we have used 4 snow days in our part of Maryland. Where exactly do you live? We are driving also. We make the drive from Maryland to Florida with two little ones. I added you to our roll call on page 1.

Welcome! I added you to our list on page 1. I can't believe TX is so bad this year. My cousin lives in LA and they have been hit hard this year too. When I think of that part of the country, I don't really think of snow and freezing temperatures.

We're gearing up for snow day #4 tomorrow here in west Texas! The roads are solid ice, so we're stuck at home with 2 little boys. And our power (and heat!) was out 7 hours yesterday. Good times!

Since I've got all this time on my hands at home, I've been searching for a rental car. We just joined DVC this summer, and will be staying at BLT for the first time. I know it has good transportation being a monorail resort, but I'm a bit leary of not getting a grocery run in. We're still debating if we should just use magical express and a grocery service, or pay for a rental. Prices this year are sky high! Anyone score a good deal or have any codes to share?
